Wanda returned minutes later with a set of extra training gear, which consisted of track pants, and a dark grey hoodie with a red "M" embroidered over the left breast.
She walked into the kitchen expecting to see Mort at the table. But he was nowhere in sight. She threw the clothing on the back of one of the chairs in frustration.
If he took off to cause trouble, it was Wanda's head.
The noodles were finished, so Wanda turned off the heat and strained the water from the pot, so they wouldn't go soggy. She placed her hands on her hips and looked around again. "{Wonderful!}" she leaned against the counter and grumbled.

"What was that, luv?" came an absentminded British voice. Mortimer had been much too busy skimming through a magazine that he had found on the counter to notice Wanda's re-entry.

Wanda gasped and jumped at Mort's voice. Her head whipped around, and she saw him perched ontop of the fridge.
He was up there the whole time?! "I did not see you." she said shortly. Wanda was feeling slightly annoyed by this. She picked up his bowl and dumped the pasta into it and handed it back to him with a fork. "Your clothes are on that chair. I hope they fit well."
Wanda was glowering at the wall as she set the kettle to boil again for her tea.

"Someone in a bad mood?" he asked between bites of pasta. Bites, for Mortimer, of course, were the periods of time where he wasn't flicking his tongue in to the bowl and swallowing a mass of carb-filled goodness.

She shook her head. She was feeling a bit annoyed, but it was mostly with herself. "I am alright." she said.
She stood and brooded for a moment, waiting for the water to boil. She thought back a bit about something Mort had said. "You said that you once worked for Magneto?" she asked out of genuine curiosity. She was interested in learning about this man. "What can you tell me of him?"

((OOC: Right now I'm going to tell you MovieToad's spect on reality. Confusion is fun...wheee!))
He placed his bowl beside him, now looking thoughtful. "Well, I joined up with 'im when I was about 15, he's the one who helped me through my training. He spent quite a sum on those Tai-Kwon-Do videos. Anyway- when we started out, we were lucky to find the cliche abandoned ware-house. Erik was low on funds. Took him awhile to realise that he could just fly to some remote island, and build 'imself a little masterpiece with just his mind." he looked around the kitchen. "Seems like he's changed his location. Anyway- so it was just the four of us, Mags, Mystique, Sabretooth and I. Erik was the closest thing to a father I ever had really, no matter 'ow stupid that sounds." he sighed mockingly. "And Sabretooth was the closest thing I'd ever had to a chimpanzee-like brother. It was so easy getting under his skin. Or fur, rather."

"It does not sound stupid at all." she said reassuringly. "If he protected you, then he was like a father."
Wanda stiffened at the mention of Sabretooth. Their encounter at the mall was still fresh in her mind, and the thoughts of that day still sent shivers through her body.
She was suddenly having second thoughts about being alone with this man.

Mort went back to his meal, now more reserved. Using a spoon, anyway. He had felt Wanda freeze even half-way across the room.
It was a thing one became accustomed to with a life like his, although he wasn't going to admit it, he was very empathetic. He didn't feel hurt as he used to when in this situation- he just knew to shove off a bit.
He changed his position from sitting crosslegged on top of the refrigerator to a sort of crouching pose. He had heard something.
