Wanda was impressed that he knew the nature of his powers, and now they worked. The words confused her, but Havok seemed to know what he was talking about.
"I am not the same. Strange things happen around me." She frowned, and suddenly, the sprinkler overhead began showering down on them. The entire system hadn't been triggered, just the one unit above her. "Much like that..."

Just as Alex was about to ask her to explain just what she meant, when the sprinkler system went off overhead. He instinctively covered his head. If the water were to seep into the scratches Diable had made in his containment suit...
Since electrocution was not a preferable way to die in Alex' mind, he stepped forward, taking the woman with him out of the sprinkle of water.
"Maybe we ought to get something to dry off with. I doubt we'd look good going on the mission soaking wet." His suit was made of a water-resistant material on both the outside and the inside, but he wasn't. And neither was the circuitry inside that regulated his powers.

"The state that stuff'll get me inta, sugah, will be better than the one Ah'm in right now..." sitting up from her matress, she shut her eyes briefly.
Feeling the voices running freely in her head, she pushed them all in one corner, slamming high walls around them. And stay there. Their voices lowered to a muffled rumbling, Rogue grimaced, opening her eyes in order to see one of the newer recruits standing outside her doorway.
Blocking the memories in their own cell, she made the walls nice and thick, hoping nothing would break through until after the mission. Sighing deeply, she stood up and wondere around her room, pacing back and forth, trying to clear her mind. Peace. Quiet. Tranquillity... Peace... she repeated over and over in her head.
"Focus on the mission. It ain't that hard," she breathed, inaudibly.

"Alright, I'll grab it then," Jubilee said, pushing past X23 to go into her room.
Hunting through her belongings, she soon came across the innocous looking bottle of little white pills. Picking them up, she went to go find Rogue. Diable ran up, crying softly and she bent to pick him up, draping the cat around her shoulders. He purred happily and started kneading the shoulderpad of her yellow coat, red eyes gleaming.
"Here," Jubilee said, going to Rogue's side.
"Can you take them dry, or do you want a glass of water?"

"Ah'll be fine... Thanks," Rogue smiled softly, the personalities in her head dying down as she took the pills from Jubilee, downing them quickly, with a toss of her head. Keeping her eyes shut as she waited for them to finish their trip down her esophagus, Rogue shuddered at the feeling.
"Blech."
The simple statement said so much. Shaking her head is distaste, she blinked a few times, regaining her composure. Spotting Diable purched atop Jubilee's shoulders, Rogue lifted a gloved hand and scratched him behind the ears.
"Hello there, you..." she said, the pain in her head subsiding with the disappearance of the voices. The cat gave her a cheshire grin, and Rogue responded, "Yeah... ya miss me?"
Sighing deeply, she tilted her head to the side, giving Jubilee and earnest smile, lifting a finger to her temple, "Thanks again... Things were gettin' t' me up here."

Jubilee could feel the cat's purr thrumming down through her shoulder as Rogue petted him.
"Yeah, it's cool," Jubilee said softly.
"Maybe there'll be some SHIELD agents hanging around still. We can kick their butts and release a little tension."

Wanda squeezed a handful of her drenched hair and winced as droplets of water splattered on the floor. Her once carefully tended curls were sopping wet. That meant she'd have hell trying to brush it.
She wished she had straight hair, of all times in her life.
She nodded to Havok in agreement about drying off. "That would be best. This is most embarrassing." she sighed. "I'm very sorry. I hope to get better control while living here."

"Don't apologize." Alex started, leading her down the corridor towards the women's dorms. They had the closest towels available, since each had its own bathroom. He would have rathered not go near the women's dorms right now, but his sense of morality stopped him from bringing a strange woman into his bedroom just to towel off.
"When I first started to use my powers I barely had control over them. I couldn't even form plasma beams. I was basically only good as a giant heating lamp." That was back in the days when his powers were manageable, when he didn't have to wear the suit all the time. Now, though, was a different story.
"You'll get better." He added reassuringly.

Snickering at Jubilee’s ‘kick butt’ comment, she rolled her green eyes lightly, silently wishing that abusing an object, or in this case opponent, could be the answer to all her problems as an adult.
“Tension… heh,” Rogue responded, her voice lighter with a tinge of sarcasm. “Sure.”
Understatement. she thought, shrugging to Jubilee before turning away and crossing her room, wishing there was a window… a balcony… something that lead to the outside in the far wall. Letting out a soft sigh, her face was one of wonder and disappointment. Her eyes dropping to the floor, she let a gloved hand slide down the cool metal walls, asking herself when her disconnection with the outside world would become more comfortable.
“When are we leavin’?” she asked, looking back over her shoulder at the Asian girl, the rest of her body following, “’Cause Ah could really go for some busy work.”
Avoiding anything to do with the topic of the Cajun, Rogue couldn’t help but wince at the stiff conversation she was creating. She hated it, mostly because Jubilee was the closest friend she had here, and the only one she trusted with anything at the moment. But there was also the fact she was loosing her talents of talking comfortably to people. Beginning after the disappearance of Lydia, Rogue felt she couldn’t fit into the public as well, even if she was people… mostly like her.

"Soon, I think," Jubilee said, reaching up to pet Diable behind the ears.
The cat purred ecstatically.
"Your headache feeling any better? Cos I know how much those suck."

Nodding, Rogue smiled reassuringly. It was a fake smile, but it was the best she could do for the moment.
"Yeah, sugah, thanks..." she faded off. Unwilling to say just what had been bothering her, she let it ride off and a normal headache.
Casting a wary glance at the door, she plopped down on her bed, deciding to wait it out in comfort. Snuggling into the matress, she inhaled deeply, "Ah should prolly just rest mah eyes..." Mildly sarcastic, she continued with a wink, " 'Course, with mah luck it'll come time t' go, and Ah'll be snorin'."

"It won't be the first time it happens to one of us, and it probably won't be the last," Jubilee said cheerfully.
"Get some rest, Roguey. We'll be busy soon enough."
She smiled at the other woman, before turning to leave. Her smile slipped once her face was turned away, and she frowned slightly. People kept lying to her; probably trying to make her stop worrying about them or something. SHe'd much rather know what was going on. Then she could worry more productively.

Celise slipped a placement within the center of her book and slid the novel across her table before emerging from her seat. Pacing her room a bit with small sips from her coffee mug, she unintentionally found herself listening to the voices in the hall. She recognized Jubilee's youthful voice and the southern belle's voice even though they briefly exchanged greetings.
Celise pursed her lips on a thought. Although she was here for a few days, weeks even, she never really took the time to explore the compound- much less, meet the other occupants. In truth, the only people she engaged in conversation with was Lebeau, Jubilee, and Magneto. And at the meeting, there seemed to be a hell of a lot of people she didn't recognize.
She took her paces toward the door and gently pulled it open, stepping into the hallway. Pulling it closed behind her, she cupped her coffee-mug in hand and paused, resting her back against her door. Maybe I can make my rounds brief. Check a few halls, grace a few floors, and return for the leave.

Magneto rounded the corner just as Celise was exiting. He gave her a questioning look before slipping his helmet back on. Gambit was nearby, and Magneto kept his tone very formal with Celise, the new information of their blood relation not withstanding.
"The mission begins now, Vapor."
But even through the formality, there was something there that had its edges dulled. The two of them had not had a chance to talk since they found out for certain that they were related. Having a blood relative on the base with him was an odd thing for Magneto, and he still did not know exactly how to handle it.
As he threw the doors open with a flick of his hand, he looked back at Vapor. "I trust the Acolytes are getting impatient for some action by now." He allowed a half formed grin. "I do believe they will not be disappointed."

A pair of gold eyes survayed the occupants near the back of the room. A hood was pulled over his face, concealing him in the shadows. It felt good to be part of the team again.
No matter how much he hated to admit it, Toad had indeed missed Magneto's occasionally long-winded pep-talks and missions with a little bit more than a slight risk involved.
There were new faces in the crowd now- some he recognized, many he did not, and a few faces confused him beyond belief. But he shut his mouth and paid attention. He kept in mind his first, and most important rule. Fight now, ask questions later.
