Christine's blue eyes closed for a moment and she opened them again, focusing on the airstrip ahead of her. "Can I have some landing clearence, Clarence?" she asked, flicking open the com line to the tower.

"Miss Christine? Whit ur ye daein' back sae suin?" Clarence asked as he flicked on the landing lights. "Yoo're cleared fur landin'."

"Thanks Clarence. And I'm on vacation - brought some of my friends. Rahne's with me - her room clean?"

"It is as she left it," Clarence said. "Shaa Ah meit ye at tha runway?"

"No, but tell Mum I'm home," she said before turning off the com link and turning back on her radio. Remember me... remember me... She glanced over her shoulder and smiled. "This is your captain speaking. We are approaching the landing strip. Please fasten your seatbelts and prepare to land."

Paige looked over at Jono. "I've never been to Scotland before. What's it like?" she asked, buckling her seatbelt. "And you have to take me to London someday. I've never been."

[Rahne]

A smile blossomed across Rahne's face.

"Home..." she murmured happily.

She liked America, she liked the X-Mansion, she loved the people there, but it still wasn't home and Scotland.

[chamber]

Jonothon buckled his seatbelt, then tugged it sharply to make sure it was tight, before looking up at Paige.

"Never managed to make it ter Scotland, so this is new. I'll take yer down ter Lunnon any time we get a chance, luv. Like ter show yer around..."

And show you off, he added silently to himself. I still can't believe that you chose to stay with me. Despite everything. I've already lost you once...and I never want to again.

Kyle slouched back against the back of his seat, feeling very twitchy. He wanted out. Now he had the chance to be free, he didn't want to be closed in.

"Scotland's cold," he said shortly as the pretty blond girl near the bandaged kid spoke.

"Verra cold."

Home again...

"And rainy," Christine added, looking at the weather report. "Hey, Sis, something different, rain, rain and more rain," she said rolling her eyes. "What I wouldn't give for a sunny day once in a while."

[Rahne]

"Ah, but if it stopped raining, the ground would dry out into a hard clay," Rahne pointed out.

"So it may be best that it does rain, day in, day out, forever and ever, amen. But aye, the occasional clear skies would be nice."

Kyle drew one knee up against his chest, putting his hands across it and leaning his head on it moodily.

Attraction. Interest. Fear. Anger. Flames. Burning.

He rubbed his overly sensitive nose, and closed his eyes. Maybe when he got outside, everything would calm down a little. But he *really* didn't trust the smell of the bandaged kid...or the girl at the controls. Smelt...wrong.

Christine glanced over at Rahne. "You have a point there, Sis," Christine said. "Although, if it doesn't rain, it snows, if it doesn't snow, it rains. I'd give anything for a sunny day once and awhile."

[chamber]

"London fog," Jonothon said, contributing to the talk about the generally bad weather conditions in the UK.

"Don't get snow. Get acid rain though."

[Christine MacTaggart]

"I forgot about the fog. Thick as pea soup or did they manage to weaken it somehow?" Christine asked, shaking her head. "You know, we complain about the weather, yet when it never happens at Xavier's we complain then. I hate to say it but while at Xavier's, I kept hoping for a rain like home."

[chamber]

"I don't miss the peasoupers. I like being able to see where I'm going," JOnothon said definetively.

He looked out the window.

"How we going on the landing?"

[Rahne]

"I know what you mean, Chris," Rahne said, nodding slightly.

"Is the fog *really* that bad? Wow. Did Clarence say whether Mum was home? BEcause I would prefer to put off that scolding as long as possible."

[Christine MacTaggart]

Christine flicked the comm link on again. "Clarence, where's Mum?"

"Where else?"

"Thanks, Clarence. That's all I needed to know," Christine said, flicking it off again. She turned to look at Rahne. "Her lab. Doing who knows what," Christine said. "Probably researching this that and the other thing."

She checked the distance of the runway and the clock. "Ten mins at max, Jono."

[chamber]

"Brill."

Jonothon leant back in his seat, watching Paige. It was very enjoyable past time.
