Logan landed with ease on the other side of the fence and immediately turned his ear to see if he could hear any movement or indication that he had been spotted. Still nothing. Then Gumbo came flying through the air doing some kind of flip before he landed with a flair. "Show off." Logan muttered to him and rolled his eyes.
"Hey, can you guys hear me? You all right?"
The receiver in his ear picked up Guido's voice, though with his sensitive hearing he didn't really need it. "Doin all right. Nice tossin, Spanky." Logan spoke low in his microphone, not real comfortable with making any noise.
Then, turning to Gambit he said, "I think I saw the power source over there when I had the bird's eye view." He pointed to a central, and unfortunately well lit area. "Maybe if we take to the shadows we can git over there without bein seen."
He sniffed the air again. There was the smell of humans about, but it was a scent at least an hour old. One of them smelled like he bathed in cheap cologne. Another faint noise carried over to him. A distant metal door sliding shut, a faraway voice speaking quietly. So far nuthin like a tank comin our way or an army of Sentinels.
"Follow me Gumbo"
OOC: Through the grapevine I heard that Pyro has been outta town. Hopefully he'll be joining us shortly. ;D

Keeping to the shadows, the pair made their way toward the power source. Not a sound was made. Not heavy breathing from the exertion, nor footfalls, for both men were trained in stealth for different reasons.
They stopped several times to listen, and the silence seemed not to reassure Gambit, but to increase his unease.
Dis is too easy. If dis were a normal heist, I’d be backin’ out right about now, cause it jus’ don’ feel right. But in dis situation, dat not be an option.
But despite these thoughts, and his senses screaming for him to stop, the Cajun thief pushed on, never once voicing his concerns.

When they reached the powergrid still with no sign of anyone anywhere around, Logan shook his head. He leaned over and whispered to Gambit. "Is it me Crayfish, or is this seeming purposely too easy? They all but unrolled the red carpet for us!"
Still, there isn't much in the way of choice here. We need to do this thing and get out as fast as possible. Looking at the security camera, Logan saw that it was sweeping the grounds and was stopping just short of where they were. Something he had not noticed right away, that he was sure Gambit had. He nodded toward the camera. "Something tells me this ain't yer first time doin somethin like this."
When the camera had swept past them and on it's way back across the grounds Gambit made a move toward the power box, opening it with a quick snap.
Logan stilled his hand with one of his own. "This ain't gonna set off any kinda alarms or nuthin is it?"

At Logan’s admittance that he too felt they were being let in, Gambit decided not to speak, but kept his eyes trained on the security camera above them.
“A t’ief never shares his secrets, mon ami,” he said with a grin, before dashing for the power box.
Keeping an eye on the progression of the camera, he took a quick look at the makeup of the box’s inner workings.
Not bad, but not de best, eit’er. Course, who needs good security when you got giant robots on de site.
“If I stop de cameras, we won’t have much time. If dere be anyone on de inside, dey’ll notice right away,” he said quietly to Logan, as he shifted around some wires.
As if dey don’ already know…
“If I leave dem on, it’ll buy us some time, but we’ll jus’ waste it tryin’ ta avoid de line of de cameras. An’ I get de feelin’ Guido ain’t gonna be good at dat. What you t’ink?”
Finding the wire that supplied electricity to the fence, he charged it slightly, enough to cause a small spark that shorted it out.

Logan leveled a look at Gambit. " What do I think? I don't think we could trust Guido to tiptoe through a mound of feathers without makin a ruckus. He'd prolly fall into them and start whoopin it up like an idiot." The mental image brought a hint of a smile.
He shook his head. "Let's just kill the cameras. These turkeys already know we're here anyway. Without cameras they might have a little more difficult finding us." He doubted what he just said was true, but hoped it inspired a lick of confidence in Gambit. The last thing he needed was everyone feeling that this was hopeless.

Smirking at Logan’s little story, Gambit nodded.
“Sounds like a plan. I t’ink, fo’ dis mission, it be better ta have speed on our side dan stealth,” he said, as the cameras suffered the same fate as the electrified fence. Glancing up, he saw the camera stop moving just before it would have sighted him, and the red light dim.
“Done. Now let’s get de ot’ers, and do what we came here to do,” he said, snapping the box shut once more.
I don’ wanna stay here any longer den we gotta…

The two made their way back over to the front gate where Guido was unsuccessfully hiding behind a section of wall. His broad yellow shoulders sticking out on both sides. Looking at Gambit Logan shook his head. "Like hidin an elephant behind a box of tissues."
He snapped his claws out and cut the lock off the gate, swinging it open with his left hand. Speaking softly into the microphone on his shirt he said, "Come on in boys, the water's fine."
Seeing Guido pop his big mug over the wall with goggling bespectacled eyes, Logan reiterated. "Coast is clear Swifty. Let's get a move on."

Guido popped his head up like a periscope at Logan's voice, and saw Logan holding the gate open. Hauling Pyro to his feet, they slipped inside as noiselessly as possible (which was an unbearable racket to Logan and Gambit). Making their way to a shadowed place between two outbuildings, they hunkered down to discuss the next phase.
Guido looked around. "I'm not an expert or nothin', but dontcha think there should be more of a watch at a top-secret government place like this? I mean, there's not even Clifford tha Doorman keepin' an eye on the gate. This is too weird."

To say that the Sentinel stepped from the shadows of the outbuildings would not have been entirely accurate. The Sentinel was the shadows, and its enormous feet were the outbuildings.
"Mutant. Targets. Sighted..", it droned suddenly and very loudly.
"Scanning...", it said.
And then, "Identified. three. known. mutants.. Additional. mutant. form. - Unidentified.. "
As it added the last bit, "Initiating. tactic:. Immobilize. and. Detain..", it fired a immense column of foam from its central torso and covered the larger mutant and the one it knew as Pyro with a thick yellow-white foam. Instantly the foam expanded. Goopy, sticky, it was impossible to shake off unassisted. And as it hardened and began to hold them fast - they realized that they might not be able to get free of the substance without assistance.
It wasn't immediately clear who the Sentinel was talking to. What was clear is that there would soon be more of them.

Suddenly the ground shook a little and Logan realized his fears that he was being watched. He spun around in time to see a Sentinel looking at him with pinpoints of light for eyes and evaluating the situation in calm, emotionless tones.
This thing is different than the ones we fought before.
That was an understatement. More than three times the height of the other Sentinels and made of some kind of metal rather than plastic. Its movements looked more fluid and precise and if the foam canon was any indication, it was much more heavily armed.
Logan looked at Guido and Pyro who were staring in shock at the quickly hardening foam setting like concrete around their bodies. He knew he had little time to react so while the Sentinel was communicating with someone or something, he dove over to the pair and whipped his claws out. “Hold still!” He said and began slicing away the already hardened cocoon.
While he freed the two, he shot over his shoulder to Gambit. “Keep him busy!”
When the enormous Sentinal melted out of the shadows, it’s eyes glowing; Gambit was more than a little shocked. These were nothing like the ones in St. Louis.
How did we not notice somet’in’ dat big? I knew I shoulda followed my gut instinct! Dis is all wrong!
Logan’s voice breaking him out of his thoughts, Gambit glanced over to see the Canadian hacking away at the imprisoned Guido and Pyro.
“Keep him busy? Merde…”
Reaching into his coat pockets, he removed a few cards, charging them swiftly.
“Hey Astroboy! Pick a card, any card,” he yelled, sending the flurry of glowing cards toward the towering robot. They hit it squarely in the chest, having little impact, but gaining the desired effect of turning its attention solely to him.
Good t’ing you be fast, homme, ‘cause now looks ta be a good time ta run!
And with those thoughts, Gambit took off further into the compound.

As it moved to respond to the attack, the Sentinel analyzed the scene.
"Identification:. Mutant. ID. 17. Designation:. Wolverine.", it said aloud to itself or to whoever was listening.
"Primary. target. identified.." With that, it kneeled swiftly and batted Wolverine away with a loud "CLANG" that sent the mutant spinning away and reeling. With footsteps that shook the ground, it continued after the mutant who had attacked it, recalling the limited information it had on the subject of its chase.
"Identification:. Mutant. ID. 24. Designation:. Unknown.", it said as it drew nearer to its target.
"Continuing. selected. tactic:. Immobilize. and. Detain.." With that the Sentinel fired its foam cannon once more, this time at the darting Mutant 24.

Logan had just cut most of Guido's bonds free and was working on Pyro's when he heard his name, followed by "Primary target identified."
The next thing he knew he was swatted away like an insect. He flew several yards through the air and landed most ungracefully, toppling head over heels another yard or two before smashing into the side of a metal plated building with a loud clatter.
He sprang to his feet with a growl and gave chase to the Sentinel who was ambling after Gambit. With a lunge, he leapt up onto the back of the Sentinel, snapping his claws out as he did and digging them in for a more secure purchase.
"Time to recycle!" He shouted and began hacking at it with his claws.

Hearing the eerie mechanical voice of the Sentinal behind him, Gambit turned just in time to see it aim at him and fire. Leaping out of the way just in time, he rolled across the ground, and was back on his feet within seconds. Looking back, he saw Wolverine jump onto the back of the robot, and attack it with his claws.
For a split second, indecision set in as Gambit was torn between attempting to help take down the Sentinal, or to locate the computer and destroy it while Logan had the robot distracted.
He can handle himself. He been doin’ stuff like dis long before you were even pickin’ pockets in N’awlins! De mission was ta take out de computer, an’ it looks like dat job now lays on you.
Nodding once, Gambit turned and ran for the building that the plans indicated held the computer.
Wonder what de chances are dat dere be only one o’ dose t’ings…

As if in response to Gambit's thought, a thunder of footsteps shook the ground as an enormous boot blocked his way.
"Sentinel. 3B. Activated", a voice from somewhere above him droned.
"Initiating. supporting. tactic:. Immobilize. and. Detain. Mutant. 24."
It fired its foam cannon at the target.
Across the compound, the other Sentinel responded.
"Sentinel. 3A. Confirmed", it said. "Initiating. defensive. action. against. Mutant. Designation:. Wolverine.."
The Sentinel's skin was suddenly charged with massive amounts of high voltage electricity.
