At Colin's response, Ali feigned a disappointed pout, but she had a lot of respect for him and his trade. He phrased it well, that journalism was to him as music was to her. Not only was it that highly regarded a passion, but he'd managed to gain success and worldwide recognition for simply doing something he loved. His life story was parallel to her own.
"I guess I'll just have to let the viewers at home win this one and keep their favorite face at noon and five..."
Still wearing a wide smile, Ali shrugged, and spent a moment simply watching Colin as a thoughtful expression crossed his face. As if remembering something, he pulled a pen and notepad from his pocket and quickly made some note. She had a vague idea of what, and when he handed her the paper, her suspicions were confirmed. By no means was this a bad thing, however. Charming as anything, with that lovely accent to boot, how could she resist when he spoke again in a slightly suggestive voice.
"Whenever yer in tha neighbourhood, drop me a line. Ah'd be glad ta make the time fer a private jam session. Or dinner, or even a nightcap."
Ali half expected him to wink as he finished speaking. At least, that's what she would've done. Colin, however, was a perfect gentleman. Taking a cue from his behavior, Ali limited herself to returning a dazzling white grin. Glancing back down at the paper in hand before folding it in half and tucking in safely away, she spoke.
"I just might have to take you up on that."
Her brilliant blue eyes were dancing, and her tone was full of possibility.

Colin would not have minded at all spending the rest of the day looking into those eyes. But then a Madrox called for him. He regretfully raised himself from his seat and maintained eye contact with Ali. Just before he broke it, he tipped an imaginary hat on his head and spoke with a voice only remembered on the silver screen.
"Here's lookin at you kid."

Ali grinned even wider despite herself. She didn't get so melty with most guys, but Colin had a welcome effect on her. Not saying anything more, she knew he had to get back to work and was not surprised to see him go. With a move and a voice straight from Old Hollywood, Ali nodded and said a quiet goodbye as she watched him go. Standing, Ali was off the set in a few minutes, ready to head home. Grabbing her things from the dressing room, she set off for her car. Not halfway there, she'd managed to rummage her phone from her purse and pulled the small notepaper from her pocket. Looking at the number, she programmed it into her cell. Several minutes had passed, but she still wore that same bright smile of possibility.
