Clearly, the girl wasn't smart enough to get it or understand that her elevated station in this society was due to Henry's good works. What a waste. And judging by the brilliant expressions on the other two's faces they weren't going to be getting it either. Not that it mattered much.
They'd be beneath contempt, except that with what they'd seen it was either wait for a mind-wipe and risk the rumors or take care of it himself. He could hardly be blamed for defending the peace.
Something about the pacing animal changed then. He could sense it with the savage's own powers. A calming, then a surge of adrenaline. Though he took great pleasure in ignoring the man as the caterer had always done to him, Henry turned his attention suddenly on Creed.
"What are...?", was all he was able to ask before the building shook and threatened to tear itself apart. A blast of heat surged through the doorway at Henry's back and he could hear sounds of shattering glass. Alarm claxons began to blare.
Henry bared his teeth and was about say something furious when the building's sprinkler system hissed to life and high pressure water shot down from the ceiling.
He glared at Creed. Henry hated getting wet.
"I'm going to kill you now", he said flatly.

Falling to the floor when the whole building shook around her, Katherine curled her body into a tight ball, attempting to shield herself from any danger that might come with the explosions. Soon enough the shaking stopped, but it wasn’t until the water from the sprinklers began to soak through her clothes that she finally moved her arms and lifted her head.
Creed and McCoy faced off, each looking as deadly as the other, but as much as she wanted to believe in him, Creed was at a serious disadvantage in this fight. Not only did the doctor have their powers, among countless others she assumed, but he was also quite insane, which only made him more dangerous.
Her mind still reeled over his speech. He truly thought that there was nothing wrong with what he had done. He had killed people, and mutilated their bodies... she only hoped it had happened in that order. If not... she didn’t even what to think about the pain these poor people, her parents, had gone through. She remembered being happy with them.
She couldn’t remember the last time she’d felt truly happy. She did know there was never a time she had felt more angry and completely disillusioned with everything. If her father – if Magneto knew about this...
Now was not the time to think about it. Now was not the time to think, period. It was the time to act. Raising herself up on her elbows, Kitty found herself eye level with a fairly sturdy metal bar that made up part of the frame of one of the tables in the room. It was secured to the rest of the frame by a few bolts, and soon it was loose in her hand as she phased the bar clean through them. Pushing herself up to her feet, she took an unsteady step forward before quickly regaining her bearings.
That was when she pulled the metal bar back and swung it as hard as she could at the side of Henry McCoy’s head.

Creed laughed as the water poured down on them. He could tell he'd hurt McCoy - maybe more than if he'd been able to touch him.
He could hear the doctor's racing heartbeat.
No....two of them. In a flash, Creed realized that the princess was on the attack. He had no reason to believe that her assault would be any more effective than his was, except that she obviously knew her powers better than McCoy did. And since McCoy had Creed's powers as well, it was a sure bet he'd hear her if Creed allowed him the opportunity.
That wasn't going to happen.
"Not if I kill you first", he replied with a sneer. Making sure McCoy's eyes stayed on him, Creed let out a bestial yell and leapt once again, claws at full length in an instant.
If he missed, he already expected it. If he hit, so much the better.

Henry's heart thumped in his ears. The sensations he gained from the savage's power were overwhelming. He felt aware...invulnerable. He could feel everything, hear and taste in colors and temperatures and feelings he had no name for.
He could command his molecular structure almost without effort, allowing razor sharp metal claws to pass through him without so much as a breeze upsetting the fur on his arm.
Both of their powers, he thought to himself, he'd keep them both. Someone should, when they were dead. Henry was pleased with himself and how far his intellect had brought him.
There was really only one problem.
Katherine had much more experience than he did. So much, in fact, that he might wonder later if she did what she did on purpose, or whether it was purely instinct.
Whichever it was, as Katherine swung the metal bar and simultaneously phased her molecules and those of her weapon to match their intended target, to describe his reaction as surprise when it connected and nearly tore his head off....
That would be an understatement.
He might wonder later. If she didn't kill him first.
Stars raced around his eyes and blood drained from his mouth as Henry McCoy dropped to all fours with a gasp.

Even through her rage induced haze, Katherine had not given completely to blind fury. One could not underestimate someone such as Dr. Henry McCoy, this much was made very clear in the past few minutes. Brute force would not stop him, but neither could they talk him down. It seemed a combination of both was their only chance.
Luckily, the princess not only had a thorough knowledge of her own powers, but she had trained her body to react with them without much concentration. So when her weapon hit her target she was not surprised, merely satisfied.
“You think you’re so smart,” she spat, pulling the bar back again when the doctor fell to his hands and knees. “You’ve had my powers for, what, five minutes?”
This time she brought the bar down hard across his back. “Try five years!” She raised it again. “And you know, there’s a lot more to being a princess than learning manners and grace.” Down the bar came again. “We are homo-SUPERIOR. We are proud!” And again. “You know how many hours of training I was subjected to to learn how to not only control my gift, but to use it as effectively as possible?” And again. “That’s something you can’t just steal away with the smallest touch!”

At least the distraction had worked, he thought as he passed through his target once again. For all his power and experience, the girl had done much more for their situation than Creed was able to.
All he had done was make a mess of the building, and that only meant that their element of surprise was quickly vanishing. They needed to find the others, they needed to find whatever it was had the priest so convinced they could change things.
With their combined powers, Victor Creed wasn't sure how they'd ever get away from McCoy. Even now, Creed knew what his healing factor was probably doing to work against them.
And then he saw it. An opening.
With a lowering of his eyes and a grim smile, Creed glanced down at the bandolier beneath his jacket still loaded with grenades. One by one, he began to activate them.

Could it be? Her attack had been so precise that Henry found he couldn't stand, couldn't speak. He tried, but all that issued from his blood-covered lips was gibberish. Her words burned him. He did think he was smart. He ached for someone to understand. And yet, for all his posturing he was far less successful than he liked to think. And he knew it. Take the added powers, for instance. The ones he was born with...the ones that made him strong and agile and far less... It hurt to think the word: human. That had been a mistake. Like so many others, it was one he couldn't admit. Then came the powers he stole from a young man named Madrox. Having more hands, more time to research was too compelling not to take it. Sadly, as with so many things, the copy was inferior to the original. In Henry's case, they only worked twice. One of Henry's duplicates could partially split again, but not completely. * The abilities of the SHIELD agents - Summers and the girl named Anna - they were incomplete, too. If Henry duplicated himself it was the duplicates who kept those stolen powers. He himself remained plain old blue-and-furry mistaken Henry McCoy. His tragedy was that he was reminded each and every time he looked in a mirror. Worse, he had tried again and again and again to adopt the powers of a telepath. Tried and failed. The procedures he had subjected them to....SHIELD Agent Grey....his own wife Emma... It had left them almost soulless reflections of what they were. And so much easier to control. He had wanted Katherine to understand. Henry got more than he wished. She understood too well. Even if her powers hadn't made him intangible, she would have seen right through him. Without needing to know more, she knew he was a failure. He could feel the other abilities he had stolen kicking in. Healing him. It wouldn't be long before they would wear off and he would lose them, but for now they saved his life. He started to rise, tried to speak. "K-.... kill...you....", he whispered as he pushed shakily upward. * - That was what Kurt saw here.

Even as the man started to rise before her, Katherine didn’t back down. She was surprised to feel her cheeks wet with tears; she hadn’t even realised she had been crying. Never in her life had she ever hated anyone more than she hated Henry McCoy at this moment. Never in her life had she ever truly hated anyone. But this man... no, he was no man. He was the most disgusting, terrible creature she had ever met. What was it all for, anyway? Was it all because of his arrogance? Some uncontrollable need to be better than everyone else? To prove himself to everyone? To himself?
Whatever his reason, it could never be enough to justify everything he had done.
“Kill me?” she sneered, her face still contorted in rage even if her voice had suddenly taken on a cold, almost calm tone. “You can’t touch me.”
Pulling the bar back on last time, she drove the end of it straight into his stomach before lifting it swiftly to catch him under the chin.

The doc was reeling but he was far from down for the count. He wouldn't stop until he saw them dead. With both of their stolen powers, it was only a matter of time before he found a way to take them down or delayed them until someone who could do what he couldn't arrived.
But Creed had already noticed that their powers were dwindling. The doc's bleeding face had told him that even if the princess knocking him back hadn't made him wonder. She caught him by surprise but he was much, much stronger. Their best advantage was now all but gone.
He only needed to touch them again and it was as good as over.
"Awright", Creed said, amused that he sounded like a referee calling a fight. "Y'done good, darlin'. Best find th' others and get outta here. I'll take care'a things here."
Dwindling powers or no, McCoy was still intangible to Creed. The bigger man sank his fist into the blue-furred doctor's chest. A fist that clung to a whole mess of grenades. He felt a grabbing as McCoy's flesh began to solidify around it.
It hurt like hell.
The touch meant a fresh charge of healing factor for the doc, but no way to pull away from his new siamese twin.
Not if Creed kept him from Katherine.
"Go", he ordered through clenched fangs. "Both 'o ya...get outta here."

The pain caused by the girl had been unexpected. It was nothing compared to the growing sensation of an adamantium fist enclosed around Henry's heart.
The healing factor kept him alive but it did nothing for the excruciating pain. The leverage Creed had with his hand extended through his back kept him from rising.
Henry screamed.

If she had been able to take the time, Tatiana would have glared at her boss and given him what for. Just when she had been about to scramble out and take off, he had the bright idea to try and blow the place to all heck. She didnt have the personal healing ability that he did. She crouched next to the wall and made herself as small as she could. Tati watched as the three continued to fight.
Tatiana wasted no time when given the order to actually finally be able to flee. She looked at the princess, would the other girl be smart enough to listen? She decided to speak. "After you your highness, you lead the way." The young woman decided she really had no clue where to go when they left. Maybe her highness would.

Letting the end of the metal bar hit the floor, Katherine breathed heavily as the fatigue started to set in. This whole night so far had been completely exhausting; mentally, physically and emotionally exhausting. Unfortunately, it wasn’t over yet.
Looking at Victor Creed with a questioning gaze, her hazel eyes widened when he plunged his hand into the doctor’s chest. He was doing what she should have done, what she didn’t have the stomach to actually go through with, only to a much higher extreme.
The explosives had disappeared with his fist.
Shaking her head she wanted to protest. She couldn’t leave him here. She knew what he planned to do and she couldn’t just leave him here to kill himself. Maybe she didn’t know him that well, but there was something there that made her trust him yet dislike him at the same time. He made her feel completely conflicted, but then this entire night was nothing if not confusing.
“But...” she started to protest, but he cut her off and she knew it was no good. There was no turning back now, no stopping him. She’d had the upper hand earlier, but if the doctor touched her again, the fight could easily shift back in his favour. She had to get away from him. She had to trust that Creed’s own powers could save him. She had to trust him. “You better be right behind us,” she said, just needing something to say to reassure herself that she wasn’t leaving him to his death. Giving him one last meaningful look Katherine turned and ran for the door.
“You might regret that request,” she said to Tatiana. Grabbing the other girl’s arm on the way by they ran through the remains of the door... and didn’t stop. Before they could hit the wall on the opposite side of the hallway, the princess made them both intangible and phased them through it into another room. The more cushion between them and the room of horrors behind them the better.

Before she could even say that she knew she would....Tatiana felt herself pulled through things she should not have ever passed through. Could this night get any wierder? Wait, don't answer that, Tati thought to herself. Because it just had.
"Kansas this ain't." Her eyes trying to adjust to the darkness, the young woman made a smart comment. She turned to the princess. "What, you couldnt phase us into a room full of the doctor's dirty secrets? Now that would have been fun." Tati tried to make light of what was looking like another very disturbing room.
Up on one wall a body was hung, disected, and pinned open. "I think that's real." Tati said softly. The body was likely another human. It had little label pins all over the various parts. Obviously the doctor had used this poor soul as a study guide. The rest of the room was just another science lab. There looked to be a freezer in the corner. It more than likely had more bodies in, Tatiana shuddered. "Where to now princess?"

He waited for what seemed like an eternity.
He hoped it was long enough for the others to get clear of what was coming.
It hadn't started so good. Creed had pretty much made a mess of his own life well before the Weapon X fiasco. And that was bad. He was. He might have stayed that way, he knew, if something about Magneto's rise to power hadn't captured his attention. It made him realize that so much of what he had wasted his life lashing out at was exactly what Magneto represented. What was being done in the name of some twisted justifications was what brought Creed back from the madness he embraced when just such terrible things had been done to him.
He spent a lifetime trying to atone for it. Trying to find a way to make his own past right.
But he was just one man. It had never been enough.
He clenched his jaw as he studied the agony of the screaming blue doctor. Maybe this time....maybe this would even the score.
He silently triggered the rest of his grenades.
Victor Creed and Henry McCoy were consumed in the eruption of an enormous ball of fire. Shockwaves shook the building, crippling its already damaged structure. Though the force of the blast pushed outward as the flame sought to consume everything in its path, the tremors did not diminish.
In just minutes, the Genetic Research Center would be reduced to a pile of rubble and smoldering ash.

From one room of countless horrors to another, Katherine felt the exhaustion, both physical and mental, threatening to overtake her. She wanted nothing more than to escape this nightmare, but it was not something she could just awaken from. She had seen things tonight that she would never forget, things that would haunt her dreams and invade her thoughts. And the memories... Oh God, the memories. For years they had been suppressed, even by her own choice, and now... it wasn’t fair. To finally remember loving someone so much only when faced with... God, he’d barely looked human anymore. She felt like that same child, so many years ago, crying as they took her away. She remembered it now, but what good would it do her? He was gone, they both were. Had they known what had become of her? That the King himself had taken her in as his own? What would they have thought of that?
Consumed by her thought and her grief, it took the sudden shaking of the building to snap Katherine back to reality. The wall they had passed through exploded inwards and she barely had time to grab Tatiana’s arm and phase out before the concrete and metal blew through them.
He had done it.
The imminent danger gone, the princess released her companion, her eyes wide. Creed was gone. He had sacrificed himself so they could escape. They were alone now... except for Kurt and the priest. Where were they? She had to go find them. She had to...
Although the explosion had settled, the room continued to shake and the walls continued to crumble. The ceiling would soon follow. She had to find them, but where to even start looking? There was no time, and she wasn’t alone. She didn’t have the stamina to keep two of them safe while searching for the others, and she couldn’t leave Tatiana. That only left one option.
She had seen Kurt and the priest disappear before. For all she knew they had never made it into the building. She had to trust Kurt as she had Creed. She had to trust that he could get himself and the priest to safety using the incredible magic at his disposal. She had to trust him. He would make it out alive. He had to.
“I hope you’re ready for this,” Katherine finally said to Tatiana. Although her exhaustion was evident, her determination was back tenfold. “We have to get out of here, quickly, so take my hand. We’re taking the most direct route.”
She pointed at the wall on the opposite side of the room. She had lost her bearings and was unsure which way they had come, but no building goes on forever. If they went straight though everything, then eventually they would reach the outside.
