By the time she came to, Weapon X was already staring out at the water. A thousand questions flitted through his mind, and the ones of those that he thought he had answers to only made for more questions.
"Don'cha think that's obvious," he said in a low tone as he flicked a shadowed gaze her way. Not that he didn't plan on killing her anyway. Just that as far as he could tell, dead people were a lot less likely to tell stories.
Though that wasn't always true neither.
"Someone put you through an awful lotta trainin' to get close to me," he said. The answer to that question seemed almost as obvious to him as if she was wearing a uniform. "Naturally I got a few questions for ya."
He wasn't moving one way or the other.
"Now I already know at least two ways ta kill you. And if I don't start gettin' some answers you ain't gonna live to see..." He studied her, trying to get a bead on her age. "Thirteen?"

"Don'cha think that's obvious,"
Her eyes narrowed again, her fist clenching around a handful of grass before she'd even realized it. She hated the way he spoke to her, the tone of voice. So plain, it was an insult.
"Some put you through an awful lotta trainin' to get close to me. Naturally I got a few questions for ya."
Didn't he get that she didn't have those answers for him the first time he'd asked? Did he think she'd talk now that he'd 'spared' her life? While she liked that she wasn't dead yet, she wasn't grateful or indebted to him for it. Letting him finish speaking, he made it clear that she was alive only to satiate his curiosity.
"Now I already know at least two ways to kill you. And if I don't start gettin' some answers you ain't gonna live to see...thirteen?"
He almost sounded like a parent scolding their child, except these death threats were genuine. Glaring back at him from where she sat, X-23 finally replied.
"I'm not that young," she retorted through clenched teeth. "I'm not a child. And don't think you're gonna intimidate me into talking."
As she spoke, she shifted as if to get comfortable. Really, she was taking the risk of preparing in front of him. She was itching to do something besides sit and chat. She hated talking. She wanted to be ready to act. Maybe she might make a run for it when she got the chance, but it didn't feel like any was coming soon. Her temper had improved for the moment, she didn't have to fight now. Live to fight another day, after all...

Right now Weapon X had a job to do, and this wasn't it.
While the little girl's pulse and scent gave more away about her than she would have ever guessed, he turned his head slightly back toward the ballroom windows. The woman with the strange scent was still in there, and his only order was to follow her. None of this mattered.
"I'm not that young," she retorted through clenched teeth. "I'm not a child. And don't think you're gonna intimidate me into talking."
He didn't have time for this, but he couldn't just leave her here either, walking loose around the castle grounds. She was easily ten times as dangerous as any of those SHIELD clowns. He knew what he had to do.
"Well...if that's the way it's gotta be..."
The next moves were blindingly fast as he gathered momentum and force enough to land a solid adamantium punch square in the middle of her forehead. It sounded like a spoon hitting an upturned pan. Not enough to kill her...though a normal person would have been through.
But it was more than enough to knock her out.
Weapon X didn't hesitate in dragging her unconscious body out of site to a more secure holding. He'd have to deal with her later.
(Hope this is okay. She'll wake up in a cell, chained to the wall where her claws can't do any harm...with adamantium bars. Let me know if you want an edit...I'm pretty flexible.)

You're not gonna intimidate me into talking...because I can't tell you what you want!
X-23 did not elaborate on her defiant comeback outside the confines of her thoughts. It was such a terrible thing to admit to, and she wasn't about to go telling him that. Maybe she should have, however. It would have bought her some time.
"Well...if that's the way it's gotta be..."
She should have seen it coming. She shoud have anticipated the attack. She should have got out of there the moment she came to the first time around. She should have moved faster when he acted. She should have done a lot of things differently, but she didn't. He was up and before she had a moment to react, he was upon her. Movement. That was the last thing she saw before it all went painfully black...
