Scott was of course very surprised to feel someone touch his back. Spinning around he caught sight of Weapon X, and saw the definite no he was giving him. The look in the mans' eyes was not one that you could reasonably challenge. It was cold and hard and final.
But Scott didn't have the luxury of questioning anyway. In fact, he didn't long have the luxury of standing on his own two feet. Before he knew what hit him the girl had swiped his feet out from beneath him and he landed hard on his back, knocking the wind out of him momentarily.
He could feel that the glasses were askew. Not off of his face, but pointed in the wrong direction. He kept his eyes pinched shut, red light spilling out around his eyelashes and pulsing violently from beneath his lids.
There was a sharp pain at his neck, and he could feel a cold blade held there.
"I told you he could be back any minute..."
Taking in a deep breath, Scott didn't say anything. He just lay perfectly still and kept his eyes shut.

The girl was already half unchained, and Summers was as good as gone. There wasn't a whole lot that could be done about it right now. He would probably prefer it if the soldier came out of this in one piece, but as the girl swept him down and held his life precariously at the tip of her bladed foot, Weapon X wasn't entirely sure it was going to be possible.
She knew he was there, so he stood up in plain sight. Looking from her to the Corporal on the floor and back, he said nothing at first.
"This part of some big plan or somethin'?"

X-23 made it clear she was quite serious as she knocked the soldier down and took his life into her hands. Without any leverage, she had a feeling Weapon X would just kill her or leave her there to rot. Neither was an option she wanted to explore.
Beneath her foot, she could feel the soldier strive for breath from the impact. She eased back the pressure ever so slighty when she felt him take a deep breath. Immidiately when he had exhaled, it returned.
All the while, her eyes remained fixed on the doorway. It only took a moment for Weapon X to move into sight. His cold eyes passed from her to her hostage and back. For a moment, he said nothing. She tried to read what she could from him, but it seemed hopelessly blank. Eventually, he spoke.
"This part of some big plan or somethin'?"
The young girl glared back for a moment. Does this look like a big plan?
But instead, she replied with a command.
"Let me outta here."
Or the soldier dies. She made that much clear without having to say it. To make a point, she pressed just a little harder on the man's throat. The thin cut was deepened, and the small amount of blood welled again and trickled down the side of his neck. She let up again after a moment.

Scott gritted his teeth as the blade sank a little deeper into the soft flesh of his neck. He had to do something, but he wasn't exactly sure what it was that he could do. Opening his eyes with the visor removed was bad enough. The force of that much power would easily plow through rock and steel without even slowing down.
But the visor was on him and it was pointed back just a little. He had no idea where the brunt of the blast would go...and with a palace full of guests just above them he did not plan on taking a chance of finding out.
Cautiously he tried to slide his hand up to the side of his head. If he could only right those glasses...

Weapon X was only subtly taunting her. He knew her plan...it was formless and shifting and deadly. She would get out of the castle at any cost. And from there? That was the part that bothered him...he didn't really know where from there.
"Let me outta here."
If it was supposed to make Weapon X flinch or move faster, it failed miserably. He just glanced down at the blood rolling down the sides of Scott's neck and didn't move. "Or the soldier gets it?" He didn't really think about it, but just shrugged.
"Go ahead," he said and then something caught his ears outside. He held up a hand for silence and listened intently. And irritation crossed his face. The woman was leaving. He had to move now...and this girl couldn't be trusted alone at the castle for more than thirty minutes.
"All right," he said. "Yer comin' with me."
Stepping over Scott, Logan reached for the chains.

X-23 was aware of the soldier's hand moving, but she dared not look down from Weapon X. Another tap of added pressure on the wound let him know she wasn't stupid.
"Or the soldier gets it? Go ahead..."
Weapon X was...frustrating. Was it worth explaining to higher ups why the soldier ended up with his head surgically lopped off? One way or another, she was getting out of here and if the soldier was found dead, it would only have made him look bad, if not implicate him in the crime. Still, he just didn't seem to care in the slightest. Anger welled over inside her again, and she glared at him, her teeth clenched. She didn't say anything back, though.
Quite suddenly, Weapon X held up a hand for quiet. X-23 strained her ears to listen to what it was he did seem to care about. However, all she heard was the hustle and bustle of the party above them. Nothing stood out to her sensitive ears.
Whatever he heard, it caused a drastic change in Weapon X's demeanor. His voice was agitated and he was agreeing to her command, sort of.
"All right, yer comin' with me."
Confusion flashed in her eyes. He was stepping over the soldier and reaching for the chains that still held her to the wall. In one way, that was a positive thing, but she didn't like what he said. She kept her toe claw at the soldier's throat for insurance.
"What do you mean, comin' with you?"
As she questioned his motives, every muscle in her body tensed to move. She needed him to free her, but she only had a small chance--if any--to move before he caught her again. It was a slim hope, but she was prepared to leap at the opportunity.

(Skipping Scott)
Weapon X didn’t have time to paint a picture for her. Reaching up, he unlocked the chain, but left the shackles on her wrists. Grabbing the chain like a tether, he pulled her up close. “There’s only a few things keepin’ you alive right now, and it ain’t yer good looks.”
He gave her a dangerous look, and then tightened his grip on the chains.
Pulling the girl like a leashed dog, he led her over the fallen body of Scott Summers struggling to get his glasses back in place. Weapon X said nothing to him, but merely dragged the girl out of the room and up the stairs very quickly.
At the top of the stairs he sniffed at the air and stretched out his ears. He heard her...she was leaving!
“Come on,” he whispered to the girl. “I know you know how ta be quiet.”

X-23 was painfully uneasy as Weapon X reached for the chain that held her to the wall. With the turn of a key, she was free from the wall but he held the chain tight, pulling her roughly to her feet, uncomfortably close. The force sent her foot downward, but she retracted the claw in time to spare the soldier as she stumbled to her feet.
"There's only a few things keepin' you alive right now, and it ain't yer good looks."
His tone and expression left little room to question. With no words, defiance still flared in her narrow eyes. His grip tightened and he roughly dragged her forward again. Though she didn't want to follow, she had no choice. Unconsciously, her agility continued to serve her well. No matter how many jerks of the chain or how fast the pace, she didn't stumble again. With the lightest footfalls, she kept up, stepping over her hostage and out of the dungeon. At the top of the stairs, he sniffed the air again and gave her another stern warning.
"Come on. I know you know how ta be quiet."
She responded only with a glare. She was quiet by nature. In a moment, they moved back outside. She sniffed the air again, but didn't know which scent had him so interested. His target was only a mild interest, however. Her mind was racing, working out her escape. They were in the open again. Circumstances weren't as weighed against her now.
If she could only get back to the trees. Outrun him, disable him if only for a moment. She could make use of the water to cover her scent and be out of there...
Maybe, though, it would be best for her to bide her time. See what he was after and make him choose what was more important.
