Even if the character herself hasn't been accepted, I thought you all might enjoy looking at these. ^_^ My style is different than Beast's (I like his better! *grins*), but ohhhh the poser luvins! I know how hard scenes are to set up, how tricky getting characters to look unique, the lighting, the textures, the backgrounds and woo! So, since folks seem to have fun with it, I thought I'd amuse you by sharing some of my fiddlings! Warm friendly HUGZ to all! Old 'cover' of a Canadian Magazine I did for a laugh ages ago. A hand drawn character concept of Herself:

Thank you sweetheart! *happy dances!*
I was thinking "oh dear I've made a mistake not saying hello first, now everyone will think I'm a jerk"
*Can barely tear her eyes away from your beautiful deadly shining wings* OOoOooOoh *blinks, turns red and then eyes the gorgeousness of the blonde man instead*
Wow.
Yup, Remedy is gonna be in BIG trouble if/when she gets accepted.
All reactions aside, Archangel, thank you, and I really mean that. I enjoy making these because I usually just do them for my own amusement, the fact that others might enjoy them just makes it that much nicer. ^_^
REALLY looking forward to chatting with you more!

These are very good. Thanks for sharing! At one point in time we used to have a few people that would create issues of the Daily Bugle to share news from here and our sister site. The first one kind of reminds me of that.
Also, although ya can't post ICly until after acceptance, feel free to participate in the OOC chat while the MOD team discusses your application.

Nicely done. I know how long it's possible to fuss with the silly thing before you get any results that are worthwhile. Pencils look great on the drawing, too. Thanks for all the kind words. Not sure what my "style" is from moment to moment. It sort of just happens. I do love it when I have a reusable character, though. After all this, I have a bunch.

I would imagine so Beast! LOL, I have so many versions of Remedy that I swear half my hard drive is full of them! *laughs at herself* You know I've never tried an Aiko version? Thank you for the compliment on my hand drawing too... that's a very old concept sketch. Technically I'm considered a professional/ journeyman illustrator and ameture 3d artist. As for the fiddling... argh, you have THAT right! *gives you a high 5* Aw thank you Father Lebeau for the kindly words, I have posted in the OOC and odd posting cause... holy hellfire, you folks are hysterical! I am REALLY enjoying going over the posts in between making textures for Second Life (texturing) and doing house work (ugh, cleaning). Thank you for making me feel welcome, I deeply appreciate it! ^_^

A newer picture of Rem. This time my evil imagination caught on the idea of her being a medical student, and if she ends up helping out in the infirmary somewhere... Many captions for this come to mind, the primary one being. "I'm studying to be a DOCTOR... a DOCTOR...not a nurse! And besides no nurse I know would willingly wear such a *#$&%ing skanky outfit!! What the #$%@ are you THINKING putting me in this... this will NOT be my uniform! And what's with the hair?!" and so on. For such a cute little thing she can have a really foul mouth when she gets going. The irish ire in full blaze! ^_^ Usually I use a much different model... called Victoria 4 (she was a prezzie from my friends!), but seeing as Beast likes Aiko 3, I thought I'd try my hand at making Rem with her. This much fun is probably illegal in some states, so I am extra glad to be a real live Canadian. ^_^ Hope you enjoy this!

I like Aiko for her versatility. She's much more a chameleon than the more realistic models...which often don't want to morph convincingly at all...and even though they have (or can gain) some ability to become more abstract they never have the same cartoony charm she seems to. But that's my two cents. That said, Victoria 4 is an amazing piece of work. I started a kind of "Birds of Prey" idea a while back with her and got two characters accomplished for that. I was working on Oracle when I saw something shiny and I never went back to it. (Actually....I think I started rendering all of the images for this story's launch...) Huntress is the one who's going to be the biggest challenge. Anyway, here's the work-in-process Black Canary and Catwoman from that unfinished whatever-it-is....

WOOT!!!!!
*applauds madly!*
Beautiful, just beautiful! I'm really liking your lighting and your use of material shaders. The poses are very relaxed looking, and the layout/set up of both scenes are awesome. Going to put a hint of reflection on the goggles on Catwoman? Ohhh I like!
What IS it with the V4 eye shader problem too? I SO miss using Cake One's eyes... they have a really beautiful ability to refract and reflect and have a depth that even generation 3 and 4 eye's models can't match. If I could figure out how to get their joint parameters to fit the generation 3 and 4 figures, I would be in heaven. As it is even sometimes parenting other eyes just doesn't seem to take and makes me want to do percusive maintenance on my keyboard in frustration. Somewhere on my old system I have a portrait of Wildchild I did on a lark for a friend that uses those eyes and it's stunning (if I do say so myself).
Heh, gotta love that learning cliff (it's NOT a curve darnit... it's a freaking cliff and I have personally found each and every pointy rock all the freaking way down on the way to foot of said cliff! LOL)
I just realised that most of the board members are going to throw their hands up and go AGH!!! "Art-Geekery! Run away!" *laughs heartily!*
I'm SO enjoying this!
Maybe I should dress Rem up in one of those Renderosity freebie extreme A3 swimsuits? (or as the case may be, NOT dressed up) Whatcha think? Is that PG 13? I just want to see her freak out more... it's fun.

I dunno. Some of those L33T freebies are pretty scant. I did stumble over a trove of really nice Aiko free pieces by an artist called "sione" at www.poserclub.jp but I haven't gone through them much yet. None of them are textured if I recall, but they seem very well modelled. It's a toss-up as to whether or not I'll reflect/refract on Catwoman's goggles or not. I cranked the ambience up on them for that shot since in the comics she's usually shown with her eyes lit up, especially in darkness. Could be done easily, but it wasn't what I was after. It was an afterthought putting them up on her head as a few minutes before that they were down. There are a number of add-on eyes for V4, but I haven't had a reason to go looking for them. So far, I'm content with the materials I have. I think they hold up reasonably well.

Ooh, awesome pictures you guys! So pretty!
I always figured that if I was to attempt to play a DC character, it would probably be Catwoman... though that might be because I don't read DC but thought she was awesome in Batman Returns... ;D
That first picture reminds me of someone... Manhunter, maybe? I dunno.

LOL! Ok, so I am getting my revenge on Remedy for telling me off about the nurse's outfit. I've up'd the ante, darnit! That'll learn her not to sass me when I feel in the mood to be funny! Bwahahahahahahah! *snort* Bwahahahahahah! Vengence complete. *looks smug*

'Cause that's often how it is with her (and my other characters?) LOL! Poor Sam got me babbling at him in AIM and got to experience it first hand. Sorry bout that Sam! Characters really DO take over sometimes... and that includes when I play canon's too! Hope her swimsuit (hockey tape? Now THAT would be canadian, but golly it'd hurt to get it off again... good thing she can heal hm? *rip*scream!*) isn't too um... 'brief' for the board? Didn't occur to me till after I posted it that it might be a bit too risque... I don't consider 3d models to be 'real people' so it doesn't bother me when they are nekkid etc. *shrugs* Please let me know if this picture of Remedy is offensive and I'll nuke it. ^_^ In the meantime I have my version of Kyle none to pleased with me either... Hope you folks don't mind me sharing my stupid sense of humour. ^_^

I was playing around and dragged out my ancient copy of Cake One's Real Eyes! The difference they make is startling... I submit to you this pic of Rem wearing them with my own custom texture. The regular V4 eyes: Whatcha think? (Edit: that would be me using the wrong freaking code...)
