Lockheed sat in a corner of the rec room, listening to the news, which someone had left on. He was beginning to understand that this was nothing like where he'd been before. This girl, Christine, the one who was familiar, yet a complete stranger, she was the cause of it all.
He didn't even know if Kitty knew he existed. He wanted to go home, to his own reality. His best friend was missing in action and no one was helping him to find her. Even if she didn't know him, Lockheed felt he had to protect Kitty.
He set off to find someone who might be able to help. There was no way he could fly all the way across the Atlantic again!

Blink stretched and sighed, feeling the tenseness of the hospital room leave her. Damn, but she hated labs. And the look on the nurse's face when she'd disappeared in a flash of light had been pretty damn funny too.
She tilted her head to one side as she considered the dragon moving across the room. Well, it was a nice colour. She crouched down next to it and studied it thoughtfully.
"Well, ain't you an interesting little critter?"

Lockheed looked at the new girl inquisitively. He gave a squeek and moved a little closer. The girl looked like she could use a friend. Somehow she reminded him of Kitty, but hw knew it was wishful thinking. The girl, with skin of a similar colour to his, looked nothing like his best friend. She was about the age Kitty had been when he last saw her.
He wanted to see Kitty and it was starting to make every girl remind him of her.

Blink chuckled softly, and put her hand out to stroke the small dragon.
"You're the same colour as me. That's very interesting. I wonder where you came from?"

Lockheed chirpsed softly and sadly and rubbed his head against the girl's shoulder. He wanted to talk about Kitty, but all the fun of making people think Pete was crazy would be spoiled if he let someone else hear him speak.
He let out a sort of mew, like a cat, hoping she'd figure it out if she'd ever met Kitty.

"I bet you're not from around here either, just like me."
Blink smiled sadly, continuing to pet the small dragon.
"Everything's real different here. It's better then home in some ways, but everyone's just...it's all skewed wrong."

Lockheed nodded sadly and nuzzled her arm. He'd been right in his belief that she was sad. He debated talking to her... He really wanted to. Finally, he decided it couldn't hurt to say two words as though he could barely speak at all. She'd think nothing of the ordinary about it and probably wouldn't say anything and, even if she did, people would still think Pete was mad for believing Lockheed could carry on a whole sentence.
"Miss.... Kitty...."

"So, you miss someone as well, huh?"
Blink sighed. Kitty. That would be Piotr's little mistress. After the debacle of Generation NeXt's death, Blink didn't have a lot of sympathy for either one of them. Magneto's imposed restraint had been the only thing that had stopped her from blinking the two of them to somewhere inhospitable - like, say, the nuclear wasteland of Europe or straight into the Council of Humanity's main chambers.
"It's not a nice feeling."

Lockheed shook his head. It wasn't a nice feeling.
He squeeked and looked her in the eye, tipping his head to one side questioningly. He wondered who she missed and where they were.

"See, the thing is, little dragon, I'm not from this timeline. Charles Xavier died in mine, and it led to a world that was ruled over by a very big, very bad mutant called Apocalypse," Blink mused.
"And I came here, I escaped the end of the world. And everyone I knew I left behind to die. Us X-Men, we knew what it was we sacrificed. But all those thousands...wiped out without a whimper of protest. And at the same time, they're not dead. Because Apocalypse never rose and Xavier's still alive."
She sighed slightly.
"It hurts my head. I just want to find my boss and scrape out a little bit of the life I knew."

Lockheed nodded. He knew how she felt. He did squeek a bit a the mention of Apocalypse. It suddenly occurred to him that if reality was messed up, then Apocalypse might be able to show up again.

"Apocalypse turned my world into a warzone, and worse. I want to make sure it never happens."
Blink scratched Lockheed under his chin gently.
"I wonder where exactly you came from? Because I sure as hell haven't seen anything else like you before. Not even in the Dead Zones."

Lockheed looked up at the ceiling and let out a little puff of smoke. She seemed a bright girl, so she'd probably figure out he was from the stars.
He purred a little as she scratched him. He'd missed things like this. Everyone on Muir Island was so busy!

Blink smiled slightly.
"So, you're a little firebreather. Cute."

Lockheed smiled. She got that in one, but she hadn't seemed to clue in on where he was from. He spread his wings and flapped up to the ceiling, bumping his head gently against it. He squeeked from up there and let a little flame dance in his mouth.
