Every ounce of expression dropped from Creed's face and he stood there frozen momentarily giving the impression of a mixture of shock and confusion.
"Fury", he muttered under his breath and relaxed as he faced the shadowy figure. His eyes searched the darkness all around him.
"If this is about that ten bucks then I'm good fer it 'n ya c'n take yer money 'n go." He focused on Fury. "If it's about th' eye again, Nicky, well....', Creed tapped his own eye. "...like I toldja before....sorry."

Fury grinned crookedly, reflexively scratching his face under his eyepatch.
"Oh, I wouldn't worry about this old thing. From what I hear, some aquaintances of mine in Department H collected payment in full for me."
He blew a noxious cloud of smoke in their direction.
"Now that pleasantries are outta tha way. I hear you been hangin' out at tha mall recently. Shoppin' at tha Gap? Catchin' a flick? Pattin' some hineys?" He said this last with a nod at Blink.
Another puff of smoke. "I hear you've been tearin' up good taxpayer property. Disturbin' tha peace an' all that."
He grinned again. He knew those were the very least of the crimes Creed was guilty of.

Fury's insinuating comment toward Blink made the pupils of his eyes contract ever so slightly for a reason Creed couldn't have named, but he maintained what passed for his cool.
"Wasn't me, Nick, I swear", Creed said with a hint of a crooked smile. "I just got one'a those faces. People get me confused all'a time."

Fury snorted softly.
"That must be it. A lotta giant goons with meathooks on their hands runnin' around nowadays."
His attention was still drawn to Creed's companion. He could depend on Creed to be unpredictable, and he had contingencies in place for just that occurrence.
Her, he had never seen before. The simple fact that Creed hadn't killed her seemed to indicate that he at least tolerated her presence, and that spelled trouble as far as Fury was concerned. She was obviously a mutant, but there was no way for him to guess her abilities.

Blink glanced up at Creed when Fury appeared, willing to follow his lead on how to treat this annoying human. She stayed silent through their interchange, lifting an eyebrow slightly at some of Fury's comments, especially at the ones that pertained to her.
"You're awfully rude for someone who's met Mr Creed before," she observed.
"Or just stupid. Sir, do you want me to blink him somewhere, like say, Antartica?"

Yet another cloud of smoke.
"So ya do let her talk. More'n can be said fer some of yer other toys. This ain't rude, sweetie. This is only mildly disagreeable."

"I'm no one's toy, flatscan," Blink said coolly.
"So, how much more time of ours are you gonna waste? I was looking forward to that steak."
What is this guy's deal? I'm going to open up a portal beneath his feet and drop him on the *moon* in a minute...or close it halfway through. Messy, but effective.

He was amused by her before, but Blink's exchange with Fury had Creed on the edge of hysterics. His smart-ass grin was as wide as it ever got. He knew Fury wasn't there by accident and though he didn't know exactly what to expect yet he knew there was likely to be a fight.
Not that that was a bad thing.
What he didn't know was whether Blink's threat was serious or another delusion of her unbalanced mind.
The thing that made Victor Creed so amused was: he could tell that Fury didn't know either. They may have come prepared to deal with Sabretooth, but he was sure they had no idea he wouldn't be alone.
And what if she could do what she said she could?
He couldn't stand it any more. Creed snorted with laughter.
"Nice seein' ya, Nicky", he said and made a taunting, exaggerated shift in his position as though he wanted to make sure Fury saw him with his "good" eye. "Y'know how I hate ta keep a lady waitin'."
Creed turned to Blink as though the conversation was over. "Antarctica nice this time'a year, doll?", he asked as he put his arm around her and ushered her once more toward the door.

"Heard tell it's awful cold," Blink said, tossing Fury an arrogant stare before letting Creed put his arm around her waist and guide her to the door.
"Maybe he'd survive it. Maybe he wouldn't. I wouldn't place bets on him surviving, but long odds sometimes play out."

Fury dropped his cigar, crushing it out with the toe of his combat boot.
"Have it your way."
Red pinpoints of light suddenly appeared on Creed and Blink's foreheads. Fury slowly drew the pistol out of the holster at his side. Not his usual narco-dart gun, but a .50 caliber Desert Eagle.
"I've always wondered what a .50 cal depleted-uranium slug would do to that tin can sittin' on yer shoulders, Creed. Probably wouldn't kill ya, but I bet it'd hurt like hell."
Fury signalled, and black-clad SHIELD agents suddenly appeared from behind cars and bushes, quickly forming a circle around their targets.
"Now, then. Like the man says. We can do this easy, or we can do this REAL easy."

Blink looked at the the humans surrounding them, then back to Fury. Her white eyes started to glow as she summoned her powers and began to concentrate.
"Or I can open up a portal beneath your feet, drop you to China and close it when you're half way through if you don't go away. That turned out real nasty the one time I did it to a Prelate. Blood everywhere, and half a body to dispose of. People are just messy on the inside."
She could feel her system starting to thrum with adrenaline at the prospect of a fight, heartbeat picking up. Not afraid, but definetely eager and willing to take whoever the hell these guys thought they were on.
"Are we still hanging around for that steak, Mr Creed, or is the tone of the night just ruined for you too?"

"I dunno, darlin'...', Creed answered with a smile. He ran a hand across his stomach. "Yer makin' Chinese sound awful good."
Creed's stance changed. He lowered his head and dropped a hand to the ground looking almost like a sprinter getting ready to run a race. His bulging muscles tensed visibly. He kept his eyes on Fury, but his senses were alive and aware of every movement, every sound around him.
"Take yer first shot, Nicky", Sabretooth challenged. "Let's see if yers stops mine."

"Oooh, fight!" Blink exclaimed gleefully.
Anyone brought up by Creed was bound to be a little unhinged.
She bounced a little on her toes, hands going to the quiver on her back and sliding two darts into her grip, holding them between her fingers and funnelling her energy into them. They glowed purple, making the markings on her face stand out more as she brought them around so she could use them. Then she crouched, jumped high into the air and blinked out.
The mutant reappeared behind one of the soldiers, foot spinning out in a roundhouse kick as she came out midair to slam him in the back of the head. She backflipped gracefully to use up the momentum, landed on her feet and twirled one dart between her fingers, before jamming it down the barrel of a rifle. Which promptly disappeared.
"Don't blink or you'll miss me!" she taunted, before blinking out again.

Fury's eye narrowed as Creed made his challenge.
Before he could speek, Creed's companion suddenly vanished into thin air, reappearing behind him in the midst of his assembled agents.
Fury kept his eye on Creed, surely her attack was a feint to draw away his attention. He'd been around too long to fall for that one.
In a blur of motion, Fury dove out of the line of fire of his riflemen, bringing his pistol up to shoulder level and double-tapping Creed between the eyes.
CLANGCLANG![/i]
The rounds ricoched off Creed's adamantium-plated skull, as the force of the bullets' impacts snapped his head backwards.
Fury shook his head in amazement. Depleted uranium was dense enough to cut through tank armor like warm butter, but Fury could tell right away that he did little but piss the feral mutant off.
He hit the ground on his shoulder and rolled to his feet.
"Take 'em down!"

Sabretooth reeled for a second as blood streamed from the gash in his forehead. He shook away the stars he was seeing and tasted his blood with the tip of his tongue.
"Nice shootin', Nick", he said as he turned his head and his neck vertebrae popped in succession. "My turn."
He tensed and sprang into the air as his adamantium claws fully extended. He covered the distance between them easily and sank a handful of them into the flesh of Fury's shoulder.
They both went down in a tumbling heap.
