Before Remy could slip out of the room as silently as he had entered it, he was stopped by a small hand on his arm. Turning, he came face to face with Jubilee. Where he expected anger, he saw only worry, and maybe a hint of fear. As she dropped the shades, he furrowed his brow, surprised at the French that seemed to roll effortlessly off her tongue.
Wonder if I taught her dat.
“Il est bon connaître ce, parce que vous avez chaque droit d'être,” Gambit replied, before breathing a deep sigh, and reluctantly removing his shades to reveal his eyes and, consequently, the bruises. Smiling faintly, he hooked one finger under her chin and lifted it slightly. “Ne vous inquiétez pas, je ne vais pas n'importe où. Nous parlerons plus tard.”

"D'accord, t'ief," Jubilee said, giving him a lopsided smile.
She wondered how he'd come by the bruises. She knew how good a fighter he was. If he had let that happen because he was feeling guilty...men!
"I'll hold you to that."

Winking at her, Gambit replaced the shades and dropped his hand from her face.
“I’d expect not’in’ less,” he replied, feeling immeasurably relieved by the short exchange with Jubilee. They had both said some very hurtful things to each other, but she wasn’t mad at him. She seemed to understand, at least in part, what he was going through. And most of all, she wasn’t about to give up on him. If she was willing to talk about everything, attempt to work something out, attempt to work past all the weirdness, then he was definitely on board.

"As I am persistant and annoying," Jubilee chuckled, grinning at him as she too replaced her shades over her eyes.
"Long as we're pretty cool, Cajun. We can fix everything else up once we've looted the X-School. I want to get my fingers on some of their tech - mucho sci-fi movie stuff, so far as I can tell from snooping before getting booted out of their system. Their med-tech alone would be invaluable."

Unable to leave the room by a Gambit and Jubilation roadblock, Rogue simply stood patiently for the moment that their conversation lasted. Her eyes falling on Remy's bruised face, she surpressed a gasp, though her dark thoughts were still saying he deserved what he got. Shaking her head, she pulled her glove back on, raising her eyes to glance between the two and their awkward conversation in french.
Feeling the Goth teen she housed in the back of her mind tug at her senses, she quickly swatted her away. Darlin', you're in mah head now. You'll jus' have t' sit back an' watch. You're just gonna have t' deal.
Listening in to their rambling a few feet away, Rogue quirked a smile, glad that their differences were resolved for the moment. Leaning up against the wall beside them, she thought back to the conversation she had had with Logan. Understandin'... yeah. Sarcasm drowning her thoughts, Easier said than done.
Hearing them speak about Medical Technology, Rogue raised an eyebrow, memories flashing through her mind. Why does all this seem so familliar? An' what's up with all these hallways in mah head?

Laughing lightly, Gambit crossed his arms over his chest.
“T’ief in trainin’, an’ a hacker? Be still m’ heart,” he joked, wanting to keep up the light banter. Remember some of the high tech gear he’d seen at the mansion, he continued without thinking. “De best medical technology dere is. Does everyt’in’ but bring y’ back from de dead. But y’ t’ink dat stuff’s cool? Try flyin’ dat plane o’ deirs. Dat t’ings got more gadgets dan our trainin’ room.”
Quickly realizing that this was information he shouldn’t be privy to, he winced slightly. “Uh... we’ll talk ‘bout dat later too, hein?” he said, looking away, only to notice Rogue nearby, an unreadable expression on her face. “I should prolly go find Magneto, see when he wants t’ get goin’.”
"I have clever fingers," Jubilee said, lifting one hand and wriggling said fingers.
"Most times I can make a computer roll over and beg, but the X-men's security is better then the Pentagon's. Not so strange when you think about it."
She grinned, moving out of the doorway and looking back at Rogue.
"Go talk with the boss man. Wanna get going and do something, me. No point in being so good at what I do, if I never get to do it."

English was bad enough, now they spoke in French. Wanda stood by Rogue and half listened to the foreign language uttered between Jubilee and Remy. She glanced at Rogue, wondering if she understood them at all, but saw a tumoiled look in her eyes.
She decided not to ask.
"I will follow you, Rogue." she said firmly. "If it is alright?"

Cathing Jubilee's look, Rogue turned away, lost in the words the other two had shared. She understood it all, after taking years of it in highschool and college, but had decided not to comment. It would be a way to overhear information she wouldn't normally recieve if they did not know she could understand them. Thank God he's ignorin' me, cause Ah don't know if Ah'd be able t' keep from throwing him through the wall at this point. His jocular mask scratching on her nerves, she shook her head, casting her eyes to the ground before her annoyance got the better of her.
Brought back to the real world by Wanda's words, Rogue looked up abruptly to face the woman. Startled, her mouth opened in silence. Gathering her composure and closing it quickly, she paused before reopening it again with a reassuring, "Uh... sure!" and a smile, "Ah was just goin' t' get some fresh air."
In truth, she had been feeling slightly uncomfortable in that room. Not quite sure why, but she figured it had something to do with all the strange faces and the difference in their manifested physical attributes they called "powers". What's wrong with me? Ah haven't been afraid t' meet new people since highschool... she puzzled, clasping her hands on the opposite's upper-arm, as if partially folded. It's like bein' here's makin' me clam up again. Ah thought Ah was settled with mah powers?
Just then, the Rogue in her head spoke up, You never settled... you just forgot. Those few years bein' accepted in the fashion industry made you unreachable, even without your powers. Now ya gotta accept it. You're alone, sugah. Jus' like in highschool. Jus' like Ah was. An' ya jus' gotta accept it.
Feeling ill with her minds revelations, she began silently wondering if they were allowed to leave the room. Deciding to just try her luck, she made her way for the door, pushing quietly past Gambit and Jubilee, acknowledging them with only a, "S'cuse me."
Stepping out into the hall, she cast a glace to see if Wanda was following.

Wanda nodded to her and squeezed past Gambit and Jubilee to follow Rogue out.
"We will be seeing you shortly." she said to them as she caught up with Rogue. She walked beside her and glanced at her sideways. Wanda frowned at the look on her face. "Do you want to talk about what troubles you, Rogue?"

Watching as the other two women squeezed their way past Lebeau and Jubilee, Vapor kind of stood behind them all with her arms crossed and no set expression.
All suited up an' no where to go as of yet. she mused, giving a casual roll of her eyes. It was a good thing she had her shades on or the two french-speakers would of thought it was meant for them. Letting a sigh slip past her, she started forward, dropping her arms to her sides. Might as well get a cup o' coffee while we wait. Maybe finish up that book that I'm crawlin' through.

As Rogue pushed past him and started down the hall, Gambit followed her with his shaded eyes, his lips turned down in a frown.
As suspected, she was jus’ hidin’ it b’fo’. She’s still mad, an’ wit’ good reason. She prolly t’ink I some kinda psycho stalker, dat I was pretendin’ she was somebody else. How could she know? How could she possibly know how much she reminds me o’ somebody else, how much it hurts jus’ t’ look at her, knowin’ it ain’ her. She got no idea why I said dose t’ings t’ her... dere ain’ no way she could. She can’t r’member none o’ it, cause it never happened t’ her.
As Rogue looked back, and Wanda moved to follow her, Gambit quickly turned his attention back to Jubilee.
“Yeah, I t’ink I will. I’ll catch up t’ y’ later,” he replied, before exiting the room and heading in the opposite direction down the hall.
Jus’ keep y’r head in de game. Mission first, apologies later.

Jubilee nodded slightly at Gambit, then slipped away down the hallway to her room. She massaged her wrists lightly, feeling the wrist sheathes wrapped around the bandages. The wounds ached from having the pressure of the knife hilts on them, but that couldn't be helped.
She had to do everything the same. Had to be the same. Had to keep up the pretence.
This whole thing really sucks. I hope Rogue's not mad at me cos I've sorta made up with Rems, but I just can't stay mad at him. I just...can't. Even if he's not *my* Remy.

"Do you want t' hear about them, Scarlet?" Rogue quipped, her voice having a darker tinge than normal.
After walking a good way down the hall, out of earshot of any of the others, though Jubilee and Remy had already gone their seperate ways in the base, Rogue paused her strides, taking a deep breath. God... she wants to listen, but where do Ah begin? What do Ah say t' her that won't freak her out? How can Ah say what Ah'm really feelin'... Hell! Ah don't even know what that is!
Leaning on the cool metal of the wall, she stared at her feet, feeling Wanda's gaze on her. She's expectin' an answer... But can Ah give one?

Wanda frowned slightly at Rogue. "I understand of you don't wish to talk. I just thought it would help you to feel better."
Maybe Rogue would be more willing to talk if Wanda gave her a bit of prompting. She glanced over her shoulder in the direction of the room they had just left. "It's strange, but I feel that I know Magneto." Wanda's nose scrunched a bit as she thought hard on why that could be. "He reminds me of someone."
