"Disappointed with the prospect of action? That'd be a no," Jubilee said as she came around the corner, cradling Diable in her arms.
The cat shot Magneto an appraising look from glowing red eyes, black fur standing out against Jubilee's yellow coat.
"And since when has patience ever been one of my virtues? How're we getting to the mansion?"
She scratched the cat under his chin, and the small feline wriggled happily.

Wanda had heard voices, and it sounded like they were getting ready to leave. She dropped her towel and rushed to find the others, with her hair still damp.
She found her team gathered together, and felt a pang of guilt in her stomach. This was her first mission, and she was probably late.
"I am ready to go." she said firmly, as a wet tendril of hair decided to fall in her face and stick to her cheek.

Lifting the coffee mug to her lips, she let it linger as Magneto emerged from a corridor. She lowered her hand then straightened, stepping off from the door. Magneto towered, but Celise did not yield as she one had. Instead, she nodded a firm glance in his direction as he explained that the mission was to start at that very moment.
So her venture was postponed. Okay, she could handle that. No worries, at all. She'd eventually pick up where she left off at a later time. Tending to her gloves, making sure they fit snug, Celise looked up as the doors were forced open. A casual lift of a brow was returned to Magneto, and behind the tinted shades resting along her face, she blinked at the tiny grin he allowed himself to give.
Celise exhaled, hoping it wasn't noticable. He didn't know how nervous she was getting. Still, she made it a point to not let it show on her features. She stood firm and awaited his orders.
"Right." she answered, leaving no traces of enlightenment in her voice. "Let's get down to it."

As Magneto spoke to Celise, Gambit could’ve sworn there was an odd tone in his voice. But with all the other odd things going on lately, it was quickly forgotten. Following behind the Master of Magnetism as he led the way, Gambit threw a winning smile in Vapor’s direction, only slightly dampened by his bruised face. He thought of commenting on Magneto’s talk about action, and barely held his tongue when Celise replied with ‘let’s get down to it.’
Merde, it be so hard playin’ de good officer sometimes! But what de boss don’ here, won’ hurt not’in’...
Unable to stop himself, he dropped his voice to a low purr, speaking so only Celise could hear him as he passed by.
“If y’ wanna get down t’ some action, I got a few ideas dat don’ involve work.”
Winking at her, he continued on as if he had said nothing at all, coming to stand beside Wanda.
“Glad t’ see y’ made it, chere. Don’ know what I woulda done if y’da blown me off an’ not showed up,” he said, getting a good look at her uniform, and noticing her suddenly wet hair.

Magneto was so focused on getting the mission started, that he did not acknowledge the hooded figure with the yellow glimmering eyes in the back of the room, at least not at first. It had been many years since he had seen the mutant known as Toad, and as he pried away the ceiling of their hideout without moving a muscle, he suddenly noticed Toad standing off to the side.
When the horrible screeching and grating of the metal stopped, he turned his full attention to the mutant. The night sky overhead was crystal clear and the light of the full moon bathed the main hall in an eerie light.
“Toad. How nice of you to rejoin us,”
There was no hint of sarcasm in his voice, but rather a genuine sentiment being expressed. “We will talk later, for now I encourage you to come along on this exhibition. Just like old times.”
Turning to the other Acolytes he addressed them all as he rose off the ground. “Those who can fly, please do so. The rest of you I will carry.”
A bluish field automatically sprung up around a few of them, and Gambit, Jubilee, Toad, Vapor and Havok lifted off the ground immediately. As for the rest, he waited to see if they could take flight on their own.

Wanda went from sneering playfully at Gambit, to watching the ceiling open up with awe.
Suddenly, Magneto took to the air with most of the members of the Acolytes. Wanda wondered if he was indicating he wanted the others to stay behind... But if that were so, he wouldn't have briefed them. She thought with horror that he wanted to see if they could fly on their own.
Wanda could do no such thing. Strange things happened, yes. There was one time she fell down the stairs, and hopped that she would fly to safety. However, instead of taking off, the walls and floor became spongey, and she had a soft, safe landing.
Perhaps it would work this time. She closed her eyes, and stretched her arms down at her sides, with the palms of her hands parrallel to the floor. Concentrating, like she had heard Havok mention, Wanda began to feel a change in the atmosphere around her, and her feet were lifted from the floor.
However, she wasn't lifted very high. The second she opened her eyes, Wanda saw that she was levitating about a foot off the floor. She tried to get up higher, but her body began to lower again until she touched ground. It was futile. The Scarlet Witch couldn't fly.

Mortimer didn't like to fly.
Well, correction, he liked to fly, but when he was in complete control of the object in which he was flying . There was a very limited amount of macheinery that Mortimer couldn't coax in to working for him- but galavanding about in a pulsing blue shield? It could give one butterflies in the very least.
He looked down to the ground and saw Wanda struggling. "Y'know, Mags," he said in a slightly strangled voice. "I'd much prefer it down on the ground. Maybe you could give Scarlet Witch down there a lift up and I-" he was given a warning glance- not so much a threat, but a sign that he should shut his big green yap.
And that he did.

Alex had managed to dry off his suit, letting the pulsing waves of heat emanating from his exposed head dry his hair and face. So, when he came back to the Main Hall, he looked much drier than the woman he had met earlier.
Great. I had a conversation with her and I don't even know her name. He thought. It was one thing to not know something like that, it was another to have her not speak to him when he entered the room.
Suddenly, he felt even worse. He had treated Rogue much the same way when he had left the hall before. Sure, he had good reasons, as in he didn't want to make a fool of himself again, but she wouldn't know that.
As Havok was lifted off the ground by Magneto, he noticed another among their ranks that he had not noticed before. Magneto seemed to know him, which made him at least acceptable. Looking down towards the remaining newcomers, he saw the woman in red trying to fly. And almost succeeding. An impressive feat, considering she had just set off a sprinkler system with her powers only a few moments ago.
She's still kind of wet, though. I'd help her out there, but I don't want to sear her head off.

(OOC: Sorry... school's got me behind! ) Leaving her room at the prospect of going to the mansion, Rogue stood at the back of the rest of the group, arms crossed as she listened to Magneto speak. Looking around at the rest of the group, her eyes landed on someone she didn't recognize, his green-tinged skin standing out at first glance. Nose wrinkling slightly, she shuddered involentarily. Toad, huh? Fit's like a flee collar on an infested mutt.Hearing the proposal of flight, she smirked, Startin' with somethin' Ah can do. That's a good sign.Pushing off the floor with her boots, she smoothly rose a few feet into the air with the Acolytes that had been surrounded in the blue force feild. Floating close to Jubilee, she smiled reassuringly, hoping to keep things on friendly terms and silently appologize for her deceite. Continuing to keep her glaze from anyone she needent look at, she glanced solemnly at Magneto before turning to look at the success of the rest of the group. Spotting Wanda having trouble with her flight, Rogue made no move, showing no signs of concern for the small amount of control the witch had.

Jubilee swallowed slightly as they were lifted into the air. Oh, she *hated* this part of it. It always made her stomach go into revolt. She couldn't even fly on planes without feeling like she was about to throw up, let alone the zoomy thing Magneto did.
She smiled back weakly at Rogue, then closed her eyes. It seemed to help if she didn't see where she was going right up until they landed there.

"I am afraid not, Toad," Magneto said as the bluish field of electromagnetic energy completely engulfed him. "We all must go together on this one." Toad was lifted further off the ground. "No need for fear," he spoke to all of them with a hint of a smile on his lips. "I seldom drop my passengers."
From out of nowhere, another field of energy popped up, encasing Wanda within it as well, and lifting her off the ground to meet the others in the sky. Apparently, only Rogue had the power of flight. Magneto gave her a smile.
"Rogue here will make sure that none of you fall." It was the closest thing to a joke that Magneto usually came.
With that, he directed his attention skyward, and manipulating the magnetic energy around them, shot them straight into the moonlit blackness.

A signature smirk spread over Mortimer's features. He would have to make a note to provoke Rogue's disgust further. He had seen the dirty look she had given him, and relished in it.
There had been a time where the amphibious mutant took things like this personally; but those times had been buried long ago. He chuckled to himself, and wondered if there was to be a live bird handy at their next stop.
Certainly had worked for Kelly.
He shook his head lightly. He had to keep his mind on the mission. He was painfully reminded of another incident where he went in to battle lighthearted- he had ended up being used as a make-shift lightning rod for the white-haired X-woman.

Pushing herself higher into the air, she rose up beside Magneto, feeling a bit more accepted with his smile. Her ears picking up on what was probably his idea of a joke, she began raising a gloved hand in responce, opening her mouth as if to give a retort, before shutting it again, deciding not to try her luck. Instead, she compromised with a scoff-like chuckle, rolling her green eyes.
"Let's just hope it doesn't come t' that..." she muttered under her breath, smirking back at the master of magnetism.
Feeling the pressure in the air about her change, Rogue watched as Magneto took off into the night, blkinking a couple of times to get her bearings back. Shutting her own emerald eyes, she took a deep breath and shot upwards after him and the energy-spheres that encased the forms of the rest of the Acolytes.

Vapor was studying the Magnetist as she and the others were settled in the hall. She spared LeBeau a glance as he leaned in and offered her a 'job' that required very little work. Yet, still, she couldn't help but to wonder how much hands-on material she would be dealing with. She graced him with a coy smile and barely released a laugh. She didn't want to draw too much attention to the pair. "Give me a business card and I'll send you my resumé." she answered quietly, before returning her attention to Magneto. The Magnetist had been conversing with yet another member of the team she hadn't had the chance of knowing. Someone who neglected to bring himself to center stage, but Celise learned his name--or rather, codename, to be Toad. Celise turned her wary glance to the blue field that surrounded her. The field in which Magneto conjured. She tested its vitality, tapping an index against it to see if she could fall through it or not. Ultimately, it seemed stable enough. Finding no flaw or cause for alarm, she pressed her hands against it as it began to ascend into the air and looked over to the others in the air with her.
This was highly unusual.

Wanda gasped as she was suddenly lifted into the air. She'd only ever flown on airplanes before, and had never in her life imagined she'd ever get to see flight the way birds do - no floors.
Everything was a new experience for her. She wondered what other suprises awaited her on this mission.
