Pete rolled his eyes. "Right. Add the title to their name, then have yer mum as their mother-in-law. I didn't think anybody was THAT mad.
"Besides, in this day and age, title doesn't really hold much importance, now does it? Except makin' you a target for media and terrorists."

Christine made a face again. "Why do you think I haven't told anyone that I was a noblewoman? The whole people who know are on Muir Island, Pete. And they all know to keep that quiet," she said.
"Now, let's get back to tending to Lockheed."

Lockheed opened his eyes in the Med Ward. He recognised this place... Pete hadn't buried him!
"Squiple," Lockheed said weakly.
He was tired. They didn't know what was going on. He had to tell them somehow.

"Looks like he's awake," Christine said quietly. "Hey, Lockheed, how you feeling?" she asked quietly, pulling a chair up to the side of the bed and helping him up to a sitting position so he could drink some of the fluids she had gotten. "Drink this, should perk you up."

Lockheed sat up a bit to get the drink. He hadn't drank anything in awhile... not since leaving North America. The fluid felt like nectar going down his parched throat as he drank.
He looked up at Christine thankfully.

"Oh, that's just what we need. A perky devil-lizard." Pete scoffed, taking a seat on the other side of the bed. "Alright then, Toerag."

Lockheed glanced at Pete. He could smell cigarette smoke in the air. He'd get to Pete, but after he got across to them that the Institute needed their help.
He flapped a hand towards the door and let out a troubled squawk.

Pete gave Lockheed a confused look, then turned to Christine. "He doesn't have to nip off to the loo, does he?"

"I don't think so," Christine said, looking troubled. "You said he was exhausted when you found him," she said, working something out in her head. She walked over and pulled a map out from its hiding place. She ignored the red x's on it and glanced at Lockheed.
"Lockheed, I need you to point to where you came from on the map."

Lockheed squawked again, giving Pete a "Look" that clearly said Pete was a fool.
((I can't remember if I put this in Lockheed's bio... I think I did... He's immune to telepathy.))

OOC: she wasn't using telepathy, it's called educated guess work on her part LOL
Apparently, Lockheed held the same opinion she did about Pete, if that's what the last noise meant. She sighed. "Damn it, Scott. Why haven't you at least attempted to contact us? You better not be dead," she sighed, tilting her head back.

((I know you hadn't used telepathy yet. I just didn't want to have to tell you you couldn't do that after you'd used that ability. lol Heading off trouble is all.))
Lockheed squawked excitedly at the mention of Scott's name.
"Squa! Squa!!!!!"
He bobbed his head up and down and looked meaningfully at Christine, hoping she'd get what he was saying.

OOC: ah, makes sense
"You've seen Scott?" she asked, looking at him. She banished the thought of Lassie with a stick of mental dynamite. "And you want us to go back and help?" She bit her lower lip and looked at him.

Lockheed bobbed his head up and down excitedly. The girl was smart. Not like Pete.
He made a move to hop down off the bed they'd laid him down on, but he didn't have enough energy.
He gave a pathetic and surprised squeek as he toppled sideways on the soft matress.

"We'll go back in the morning," Christine said, "but first, you need to rest and get some of your strength back." She smiled and gently kissed the top of Lockheed's head. "I'll see if I can rustle up some food from the kitchen. You probably could stand a meal."
