Lockheed nodded again. He grabbed hold of her wrist, wanting to go with her. He wasn't sure if she'd let him, or if she'd rather leave him here with Pete.

Pete leaned back in his chair as Christine and Lockheed 'spoke'. He wondered why Lockheed just didn't say what was wrong. He knew that bloody dragon could talk!
Suddenly, Christine stood up to leave. Pete stared at her pleadingly. "You ain't leavin' me here alone with him, are you?!"

"No, Pete, I won't put Lockheed through that torture," she said, scooping the dragon up in her arms. "There," she said, smiling. "Let's go see if Ruth's in the kitchen and cooking."

Lockheed smirked mischeivously at Pete and quickly looked adoringly at Christine.
He was starving. He bet that Pete was going to go chainsmoke somewhere. He needed to build up his strength so he could take Pete's cigarettes.

Christine smiled and quickly headed down to the kitchen where Ruth was. "Not a word to Clarence," Christine said to the older woman.
"Wouldn't dream of it," Ruth said. "It's a good thing I bought that rather large shipment of cow."
"You didn't get the whole thing and expect William to cut it up?"
"It's already been sliced and diced, child."

Lockheed liked the smell ot the kitchen. It smelled like food. Food was good. He also like the kitchen lady.... Ruth? Good name for a kitchen lady. Of course, hungry as he was, he would have thought "Puke" was a good name for a kitchen lady.
He looked at Ruth with big eyes and a cute face on.

Pete gawked at the two of them. This was just like him and Kitty all over again! She ALWAYS sided with Lockheed.
Come to think of it... Christine was a lot like Kitty in some ways. She was sharp, and outspoken. She could hold her own in a verbal spat...
Not to mention beautiful.
Pete scowled at them as the left. He wouldn't start thinking of Christine in that way. Instead, he'd focus on loathing the dragon. "Ah, sod on the both of them!" He stuck another cigarette in his mouth and stormed out of the medlab. He needed to clear his head.

OOC: Poor Pete ::snickers::
Ruth set about getting food for the little dragon. "Now what's this I hear about you faking an engagement?" she asked, not bothering to look at Christine.
"Pembroke."
"At it again?" Ruth asked, sighing. "That man needs a swift kick to the head."
