Christine leaned back in her chair, and found herself lost in thought. She was trying to plot out every little detail, trying to plan for every little snag that could cause the mission to fail. She was going to leave nothing to chance.
"Magneto, how powerful are these Sentinels? And do you think any will be guarding the professor?" she called over to the older mutant.

Magneto
Remembering back to his recent encounter with the Sentinals Magneto rubbed his arm where he had been badly burned by the laser that came from their eyes.
"They are powerful enough." he said simply. "Nothing to scoff at." He looked over at her and decided she needed more, so he leaned in.
"It will take a concerted effort on all of our parts to defeat just one of them. We cannot afford to underestimate these machines, or it will be lives that are spilled today, not just blood."

Christine turned a shade of pale that would rival his hair color and tucked her head between her knees. "I will not allow any of my team to die. I will do everyting I can to prevent that," she whispered. She glanced at Magneto. "Will any be guarding the Professor?"

Magneto
It was good that she was understanding the gravity of their situation. Magneto decided to do nothing to discourage the dread she was feeling. It will keep her senses sharp.
"You do well to fear this. We are not on a picnic here. And everything you can do will be required."
At her next question he shook his head. "I have not had time to send spies down there to check it out. I am walking into this as blind as you are."
A fact that he did not like one bit.

Christine rubbed her hands together. "I've been going over everything we know - planning for every possible error," she said. "Every life on this mission is my responsibilty - I will not leave anyone behind." 'Rather,' she thought, 'if it comes down to it - I rather they leave me behind and get out. I can always find away to get out on my own. I will not let them risk their lives to save mine if I get into trouble.'
"Logan, Kurt," Christine called to the front of the X-jet. "What's our ETA on the Arch?"

Finding himself a seat in the back of the Blackbird, Gambit leaned the backrest back, and propped his feat up on the one of the seat in front of him. He had gotten very little sleep in the last week, and it was starting to take it's toll on the young mutant.
Closing his eyes beneath his shades, Remy clasped his hands over his stomach, and tried to tune out the sounds around him. He was feeling a little on the antisocial side, and figured a little bit of sleep was just what he needed.
Now if you can jus' keep your mind on de mission, an' not on your new 'teamates', all should be fine, he thought, sighing deeply.

'If only I could relax like that,' Christine thought and sighed. She rubbed her hands again and tried to keep herself mentally occupied and not thinking of what could go wrong on the mission.
Christine stood up and started walking the aisle - trying to burn off nervous energy. 'I'm just over reacting,' she thought. 'Of course, I'm a bundle of nerves - this is my first mission as leader.'

Wolverine
Logan called back from the cockpit of the plane in reply to Chris's question. "Bout three hours!" He really hoped it wasn't going to be one of those trips where people kept asking "Are we there yet?"
Kurt was concentrating on his job of co-piloting, so Logan didn't want to interrupt his thoughts. He took out a half smoked cigar and just put it in his mouth, chewing on it while he watched the clouds pass by.

Christine sighed. "Thanks, Logan. Let me know when we're at least an hour into getting there. I'm going to try and get some sleep." However, try as she might - sleep refused to come. Too many what ifs plagued her every thought. So - she sat and brooded - trying to think of how to prevent the mission from going up in flames.
Christine watched other mutants - feeling horribly guilty for dragging half of them into this. But was done was done - and there was no changing that. She glanced at Magneto and could tell he was getting annoyed wih her pacing.

Wolverine
Grunting back at Chris as acknowledgement that he would wake her before they landed, Logan turned to look at Kurt again. Those two have been spendin' a lot of time together...
Fatherly instincts kicked in and he cleared his throat, looking out the cockpit window in front of him. "You been spendin a lot of time with Chris lately."
He was trying to keep his tone down to where only Kurt could hear him. But this just had to be said one way or the other.

After boarding the jet, Callisto choose the seat farthest away from everyone else. Pulling her hat dwon over her eyes, she tried to sleep, but kept overhearing conversations from others. Sometimes I wish I didn't have the "extra hearing" sense, but then I remember that's who I am. Besides, there's no time to ponder that now. I'm in a jet with Upworld mutants, some of the worse ones at that. Why? Because I can't see them die".
Noticing Logan lower his voive and talk to Kurt, Callisto couldn't help but overhear the conversation. Smiling in spite of herself, she quickly stoped for fear someone would see. That's why Christine put him in her group....she likes him, and perhaps he likes her..... If only my life was someone elses...but it's mine. Fairytales exsist for the weak and the beautiful, both of which I am not".

Christine finally stopped pacing and sat down, still ill at ease about the leader thing. She ran her hand through her hair and sighed softly. 'I want to know why I got stuck as team leader?' she thought.

Jolted from her thoughts by Christine's abrupt stop, Callisto heard her sigh and wonder why she was leader. Why is a word I ask my self daily. The answer to all why's is because that's the way it was meant to be.
Deciding to get up, she walked over and leaned againist Christine's chair. "Why? Why is because it was meant to be this way. Just like I was meant to be who I am today...alone yet strong. We don't always like it, but it's how it goes. And you can either wonder what you did wrong, or try to be stronger".

Christine looked up at Callisto and drew comfort from her wisdom. "I just hope this mission goes off without too much of a hitch. I want everyone to come home in one piece."

(OOC~Continued from Chris's request in previous chat room) [glow=blue,2,300]*Flashback*[/glow] Trotting down the hall, Rogue was freaking out becasue she missed... some important meeting... She couldn't remember, but she DID know that somehow she managed to get caught in several ordeals with lost gloves and not enough sleep... and now she was running down the long corridors in her X-men garb, throwing a bag over her shoulder. Dang it, Ah'm late! Their gonna kill me!... Hopefully they can sum it all up...
Coming into full view of the Blackbird, Rogue waved at the windows hoping to get their attention. Ah am sooo screwed! she thought upon entering and climbing up the ramp...
[glow=green,2,300]*Now*[/glow] Tromping through the doorway, Rogue spotted a familliar face at the back of the jet... Remy! Hey! That's MAH seat! Rogue thought jokingly before approaching and sitting in one of the other chairs towards the back... the one in front of Gambit... Chancing a glance back at him as she felt his feet on the back of her chair, Rogue quickly looked down at the ground once more.... He probably doesn't think much of me missing the meeting.
Hearing Chris call her, Rogue got slowly up out of her seat, looking back at the snoozing Gambit before calmly approaching the other mutant... Over hearing part of what she said to Callisto, the Goth smiled...
"Good luck..." she smirked, her nervous feelings about the situation making her sarcastic, if she spoke at all. "So... What did ya want?"
