Christine sat down at a desk in the library, going over her biology notes. She sighed softly and massaged her temples as the unfamiliar vocabulary washes over her, confusing her.
Her eyes glanced down at a section of her text book that caught her interest and she smiled slightly.
"I wonder... does that make the quote unquote norms us?" she asked herself quietly.

Jon was pretty much right behind Christine when she asked this. Knowing what happened last time he startled her, he said, "Christine, I'm not sure that makes them us exactly, but a different type of mutant." He said this quietly, so only someone with super-senses could hear. "Of course, I'm only in 8th grade."

She glanced over at Jon and tilted her head. "Yes, but by hating us, aren't they hating themselves to an extent?"

OOC--Does this take place after the scheme? So do I call you Phoenix for a codename?
"Yes, that's true. But it's still a different mutation than what we have. But when has humanity ever used logic?"
Jon thought about that for a second. Yes, most humans are idiots. Racism, like Hitler, had almost destroyed the world. You could say it did long ago. With great knowledge, comes great stupidity.*
*I altered the Spider-Man line a bit.

OOC: Pre-Phoenix
"Good point," she murmured, sighing softly. "I just wished they'd learn that we're no different then them and it only took one little hiccup in the DNA strand to create us."

"Have you ever, I don't know, gotten so mad at those idiots that you just screamed at them, right in the middle of a street or something?"

"No, I try to keep my temper," she said quietly. "I.. I pity them in a way. They're too blind to see us for who we are - not what we are."

"Well, just a month ago, a building was burning, and I rescued a few people. One of them was a little boy, I'd say 7 or 8 years old. I was in the building, and a peice of wood I could tell was gonna fall on him. I teleported over, and teleported back down to the ground, where his mom was. She just grabbed her kid, and started yelling at me like I started the fire. I just got so mad, I growled and snarled at her. The police then started shooting at me. One got me in the leg, but I lived."

Christine was quiet, not finding it her place to say anything about what had happened. She had lived a somewhat sheltered life back on Muir Island where her mother worked and studied.

"Yeah, well, I see your busy, so I'll just leave ya alone."
Jon walked off to find the book about the history of mutation he was looking for.

She nodded and wordlessly returned to her studies, flipping through pages in her textbook and typing in the unfamiliar words into her pocket translator she knew what was going on.

He found the book. He skimmed through it, looking for something on old mutants.
Let's see. Essex, Traveller, oh, they have non-mutants, too. Parker, Richards, Banner, Rogers, Fury?! What the, he doesn't have superpowers... He looked at the title. It was accualy a encyclopedia type thing on superhumans. This must be a private book Xavier has. I don't think the general public knows Parker's secrets. He looked at more. Gargan, Osborn, Ryker, that sounds familiar..

Jubilee plops herslef down in a chair by Christine and Jon. She had come into the library for research but when she saw them she decided it could wait. "Hey guys 'sup?" she asks as she skims over a page of a book they're looking at. "Ugh, how can you stand to read that boring stuff? Isn't it dull?"

"Unfortunately," Christine said, looking up at the newcomer. "If I want to continue in my chosen calling for when I stop being a superhero - I need to take quite a bit of biology."

"Woah slow down there, stop being a super hero? What for?" She stared at Christine. why would anyone want to stop being a super hero? That's crazy insane. she though. "Man, Bio is definatly evil, no offense....but hey, what are you going to be?"
