I was gonna poke fun, but I saw it live here in Kansas City last year and loved it. Ran out and got the movie.

Agreed, seeing it live is awesome I saw it at the Majestic - so bloody awesome. Carlotta had some good lines ::giggles:: Gerry is way better then Michael, IMHO

I was trying to look at it from a technical standpoint. There's only so much you can do in a limited time and area when the show is live, and they pulled it off flawlessly. Sets switched out in a matter of seconds, the Phantom's boat gliding on smoke and rollers to simulate water...A heckuva show. I'd never been to the KC Music Hall before, it's a pretty classy place. I love art deco stuff for some reason. Not sure if that new Sydney Opera House-looking thing they're building on Broadway is supposed to replace it or not.
That, and the flashbombs at the beginning after the auctioneer says, "GENTLEMEN!" scared the crap out of me.
