We, the Undersigned, hereby do petition Marvel Studios to consider our recommendation for the lead role in the upcoming live action production of Doctor Strange, Sorceror Supreme. It has come to our attention that Christian Bale has been rumoured to be the studio choice, and while we do not contest Bale's obvious talent or screen presence, we feel that there is another actor of considerable range that would be better suited to portray the good Doctor, one who has enjoyed a cult-like following in his forays into movies about the supernatural.
Therefore, without further ado, we submit that our candidate for the lead role of Doctor Stephen Strange should be none other than Bruce Campbell. Consider that although he is primarily known for his camp and comedy, Bruce Campbell could easily and successfully play the distasteful, aloof and selfish surgeon who cares for nothing but himself until that fateful day he loses his fine motor skills in the car crash that devastates him.
We also feel that he could successfully portray the hardened man of science who becomes so desperate that he travels to the ends of the earth seeking out a mystical cure for his neurological damages, and then, with his comedic touch, give us the proper tongue in cheek disbelief that such a man would exhibit when immersed into a world of mysticism that defies any logical explaination.
We understand that such a choice would seem counter to the typical leading man paradigm, but we also feel that Doctor Strange is a role that Bruce Campbell was born to play.
In conclusion, we would hope that Marvel Studios would seriously consider our suggestion for the casting of Stephen Strange, and the established audience that Bruce Campbell would bring to the film, beyond his talents as an actor.
Sincerely,
The Undersigned
