For lack of a better title.
I think a while back people may have had to authorize accounts or something? I can't quite remember, it was a long time ago. Are you still using the same e-mail you signed up with? Also, what exactly is it doing when you try to log in?

$(^@$)(*^$!(^$)(%!!!!
....okay, I'm a little better now.
Well, I've never had such an issue logging on in my entire life. Maybe its... nope, just checked. I thought, maybe it just doesn't like FF... but no, it hates Exploder, too.
Here goes-- I press the log in or go to the bottom and log in there-- using my correct information, and submit it.
The page refreshes.
My name is in the "Who's Active" list, heck-- it's even in the "Who's online" list-- but at the top of the page...?
I still have the LOG IN or REGISTER options, instead of links to my PMs and profile.
And I have to post as a guest.

...and yes, identical email address. I'm 43. I don't do "flavor of the month" when it comes to email.

Hmm, I've never had that happen before on proboards. If you wanted, I could change your password and try logging into your account myself to determine whether it's the account or something on your end, then e-mail you the password so you can change it back. Or if you don't wanna do that, you could make a new account and see if it happens with that one or not. Once we know where the problem lies we can proceed from there.

....this happened on my site when it was still back on Proboards. To one o the members, I mean. I think the solution ended up being having to clear all cookies or something, but I will go search my Support acct for the topic where I asked

Hi, I have a member who upon attempting to log in, is redirected to the log in screen, but to her and everyone else, it shows her account logged in, even though her browser is still asking her to log in. (aka she is still viewing as a guest) She's tried on two browsers and restarted her comp. I am able to log into her account, any ideas? Hi, 1) does she select "Forever" from the dropdown when logging in? if not ask her to try that. 2) tell her to make sure the time & date on her comp. is correct. reply back when done. This worked perfectly for the other member, her date was off somehow... hope it helps!

Ok, so... if I log in, and then refresh from the address bar...?
I am logged in... until I try to click a link or interact.
Then, I get logged out. Until I refresh by clicking the address bar.
It's like the cookie is only attached to the address bar, and nothing else. If I use the reload button on the bar, it doesn't work [ie; I am still a guest].
Needless to say, this make posting this:
Doug stepped out into the bright midday sun, squeezing his eyes fast shut and blinking in rapid succession until the glare from the pool and the cement patio around it ceased blinding him. Colors were beginning to return from the sun bleached imagery that greeted him as his pupils relaxed.
The young blonde mutant sighed, and began to waddle out into the heat.
He shook his head, trying to dislodge the sunglasses perched on the top of his head, but to no avail. He would have just reached up and placed them where they belonged, but that would have required his hands. Unfortunately, both hands were currently occupied with giant tubs, filled with refrigerated side dishes.
Sure, they were heavy and slippery. Sure, they were large and cumbersome. Yeah, he probably should have just grabbed one, maybe two of them instead of the three currently in his care. Of course, he thought that someone was coming back to the kitchen to help him carry them out when he volunteered to lend a hand.
When several minutes passed, Doug sighed, and sucked it up. After all, this wasn't the first time that the X-Men had forgotten about a team mate that had been separated from the group during some action. Actually, it was kind of disturbing how often it happened...
Doug shook the line of thinking from his thoughts.
Nope, at this moment, only two things were on his mind.
#1. Could he make it to the table...?
#2. Just how cold was the water dripping down the front of his shirt and shorts from the condensation...?
At the BBQ much more difficult.
And yeah, I cleared all cookies. Checked my clock. Checked my date. Checked FOREVER.

Alright, so it appears proboards must has removed the admin's ability to change a member's password, I don't see the option anywhere. You may have to try the other suggestion and make a new account and see if you have the same problem with that, and also check the cookies on your computer.

OT: yeah, I see what you mean about admins not being able to change passwords, Remy. Found that out on one of my boards while I was putting icons in for my other character accounts back on topic: Doug, I was on the support.proboards.com site - saw this there, maybe it'll help: Problems Logging In I login fine, but when I click a link it logs me out!Your browser is not accepting cookies properly. First check to make sure you have cookies enabled. Also, in Internet Explorer 6 you need to make sure that you have 3rd Party Cookies enabled. Your members need to enable cookies, tell them to do the following: Click on tools on the menubar on your browser Click on Internet Options on the drop menu On the window that pops up, click on the privacy tab Put the arrow and track so that the arrow is on low Click ok This will enable third party cookies: Click on tools on the menubar on your browser Click on Internet Options on the drop menu On the window that pops up, click on the security tab Click on the custom button On the little window that pops up, scroll down to where it says cookies, and make sure the radio button is in the enabled position Click save In Firefox: tools >> options >> privacy >> look for the 'cookies' section. Make sure it has 'accept all' ticked, and then click on 'exceptions' and make sure your proboard url isn't in there. Hint from Ryan: If the above didn't work try selecting "forever" when you attempt to log in. support.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=gotopost&board=support&thread=30155&post=220370
