It took almost no time, as the Magneto led his Acolytes across the darkened city skies. Form below it looked like bluish shooting stars streaking across the sky, and the spectacle did draw at least some attention from Bayville’s residents.
But soon, Magneto was on the outskirts of the town, descending from the skies to Xavier’s precious little school. The windows were all dark, as was expected, and for all appearances it seemed to be abandoned. As Magneto neared one of the second story windows, he pushed open a balcony door and stepped lightly onto the patio, his Acolytes landing all around him.
It wasn’t Xavier’s kids that worried him, it was the possibility of SHIELD agents lurking about. There were some specific things that brought him to this school, however, and he was not going to be deterred.
Without a word, he walked into the room, a bluish ball of electromagnetic plasma in his hand lighting the way. “I need all of you to stick together. Follow Gambit to the lower levels of the school and look for anything that might prove…useful.” To Gambit he said, “If you see the need to break it into smaller groups, use your own discretion.”
Looking over at Vapor and Toad. “You two will follow me. We begin our search on the top level.”
((Gambit, after you reply to this you can start a separate thread.))

Toad nodded, cracking his knuckles, and survaying his surroundings. He had never been to the X-Mansion before. It was posh, clean and comfortable looking. He hated it. The house symbolized everything that the X-men were, happy-go-lucky always victorious, normal looking mutants, trying to find their place in the world, and succeding. The opitomy of the 'good guy' cliche.
In his edginess, he made sure his Kevlar vest and leg braces were secured. They'd both saved his life on many occasions- and he doubted today would be any different. S.H.I.E.L.D...Mortimer had never heard the name before. Then again, there were a lot of things that he had never heard of before on rejoining Magneto. And now they were about to fight them.
"Honestly," he hissed under his breath. "Gone for four months and the whole worlds' seem to have gone off the bleeding deep end."

Jubilee opened her eyes cautiously as they slowed down, firmly telling her stomach that she wasn't throwing up anytime soon and it could just settle back down and be quiet.
She wasn't prepared for the surge of terror that hit her when she saw the open, grassy lawn.
The X-Mansion. And out on the lane...crosses. Large, wooden crosses, heavy dark wood shadows on the green grass. Hand laid out against one beam.
Sharp point of the nail against her skin. Not quite believing, unable to believe...but the Reavers had crucified Wolvie down in Australia, and she'd gotten him down off that cross. Getting the nails out had been a bitch, she remembered crazily, watching the hammer go up. And then an explosion of pain.
She ruthlessly shoved the dream to the back of her mind, putting on a confident grin as Magneto set them down. She rubbed her wrists gently as she stepped further into the mansion, then copied Magneto's action to provide some light, faintly sparking balls of light enclosing her two hands.
"Right. Look for things that look useful. Will do."
And if we get near a computer, she could probably hack it and find some very useful infomation...

Havok watched the entire time as the group sped towards the X-mansion, not as enthralled as he would have normally been. He was letting his emotions interfere with the mission, and that just made him angry. Of course, anger was an emotion, and it was interfering with the mission, so it just made him angrier.
When he saw the front of the Xavier Mansion, he couldn't help but feel a familiarity at the site. Stepping out of the field of energy, he stayed close enough to Gambit and the others to be considered part of the group, but far enough away to rein his emotions without interruption.

Toad took to the walls and ceilings, reaching places most couldn't. Besides the fact that there were several bullet holes in the walls, and deep gashes in the hard wood floors, nothing seemed amiss. Everything was so quiet.

As Xavier’s Institute came into view, Gambit felt a swift stab of guilt at the obvious damage done to the structure. It appeared the X-Men had fought valiantly, as he knew they would, but that SHIELD had won out in the end, leaving the grounds deserted. Dey be de enemies, homme. Get over it an’ do y’r job.Touching down on the balcony, Gambit closed his eyes for a second to readjust to the feeling of ground beneath his feet, before opening them once more and nodding at the order he was given. Of course he would be selected to lead. Although it would seem to everyone else that this was because he was second in command, which might have something to do with it, he was sure that Magneto had selected him because of his previous tenure at the school. “Alrigh Acolytes, follow me! De X-Men might be gone, but keep y’r eyes an’ ears peeled fo’ any lingerin’ SHIELD agents. An’ if y’ find any, talk first, fight later. R’member, we ain’ who dey was lookin’ fo’, so dey might jus’ let us go on our merry way,” he instructed the others, before heading for the hallway that led to the grand staircase. Landing softly next to the rest of the group, Rogue took a moment to look around after instructions. Her eyes landing on the grass below the balcony, they grazed the trees, the fountain, and the drive before flying quickly over to the mansion itself. Images pounding in her head, memories, scattered pictures, she took a step back, her lower back pressing against the railing. Green eyes sparkling with recognition, Rogue did her best to hide the panic that swooped over her. This all seems so familliar. Why do Ah suddenly feel so... wrong?
Sending a nervous glance at Magneto, she sighed deeply before following Gambit, her feet inches off the ground as she floated after him. What was goin' on? Are these more of Rogue's memories? Staying quiet, she glanced about her, the familiarity of the place drowing her in silence.

Vapor took residence beside Magneto as they had landed. And as the others turned to depart and follow in Lebeau, Celise followed after them with quiet eyes. Whatever Magneto's reasons for asking her and the other to remain with him was unknown, but she could take a number of guesses that led somewhere along the lines of their protection. Vapor lifted a casual glance to the high walls, noticing Toad had taken his place there, then turned her eyes Magneto.
"We search here." she concluded, looking to the Magnetist. "I believe we should start then."

Magneto watched the others disappear down the hall, somewhat impressed at their stealth. He had been almost certain that Jubilee was going to be excessively noisy. Though Gambit was right, SHIELD was not looking for them, it would not be beneficial to have a confrontation with them.
His alibi was straightforward enough, though Magneto wanted this little operation to be over with quickly.
“The student dorm rooms are on this level,” Magneto said to the remaining two who stood by his side. “I am looking for the room of a Christine MacTaggert.”
"Christine Mc-what now?" asked Toad in a whispered hiss. "Any way to tell 'er room from the others?" he asked, now jumping lightly from the ceiling next to their small search party. He didn't question Magneto's motives, he was used to following orders and carrying them out. No need to get over analystic- he would save that for when there wasn't much possibility of getting ambushed in the middle of a labrynth-like abandoned school.

MacTaggert, Vapor mused, taking her eyes to her lower right. The name was foreign to her and sense of information flooded to her mind.
"What's special about that particular room?" Vapor asked, directing her eyes to Magneto. She took some steps forward and stretched a gloved hand toward the first doorhandle she came across.

Mortimer looked on cautiously. Although the mansion seemed disarmed, you never knew if there was some stray security device left up and running.
Over the creaking of the timbers or the small crackle of flame, he couldn't be sure if any type of machiene was running. It worried him.

As Magneto looked down the hall, the distinct feeling that he had indeed been here before came over him. He thought of the conversation that he had with Gambit a few days ago. In fact, he had found that he could not stop thinking of that conversation. Gambit had mentioned that reality had been fragmented in some fashion.
He had given himself a migraine trying to dig the pieces of the puzzle from the depths of his own mind. “We are looking for answers, Celise,” he said to her as he started down the hallway to the female dorm rooms.
“To very important questions.”
A little peeved, Mort jumped in to the first room with an open door. "Thanks for the explicit instructions, Mags." he muttered. The room he had entered was dishevled to say the least- burn marks on the walls, bullet holes in the ceiling, and all matter of debris spread across the floor.
One thing caught his attention, an overturned computer in the corner of the room. It didn't look as though it were badly damaged. He suspected that he would be able to get it up and running within the next few minutes.
As the computer whirred to life, a large window popped up prominently. Mortimer's eyes widened. "Oi! Erik! I think i just got one o' your answers."

Magneto lifted an eyebrow at Toad’s muttering, but made no reply. Toad might not be the most disciplined Acolyte he had in what came out of his mouth, but he most certainly had his usefulness. This was a fact that was illustrated by the next words that came out of his mouth.
“Well, it seems we have stumbled into the room of Ms MacTaggert right away.” He watched as the computer began to boot up. If anyone was best suited for cracking passwords and hacking into computer systems it was Toad. He seemed to have some kind of natural gift for that kind of thing.
“Load what you can on one of these discs.” Floating across the room came several CDRW’s. “Celise, see if you can find a diary or any kind of personal journal for Ms MacTaggert.”
