"I know that, you know that, but does Gabriel know that," Carl asked looking over at Rahne. "Chances are, no."
Gabriel walked over to Christine and captured her hand, bringing it up to his lips to kiss. "May I have this dance, m'lady?" he asked.
Christine's cheeks flushed crimson, but knew she couldn't refuse in front of everyone. "You may," she whispered.
"Oh, this is going to be fun," Carl said, pointing to the dancing couple.

"I hope she slaps him again," Rahne mused.
"I'd like tae see it again."

"She'll have to figure out how to pull that off without offending anyone," Carl said. "Now it would be interesting for you know who to show up as you know who and really make things exciting."
Lady Anne Pembroke ran over to Rahne, fully out of breath. "Rahne, darling, I need your help. Phillip's doing his usual." Lady Anne Pembroke had the misfortune of being the relatively sane one of the family, and the fortune of being the only Pembroke the MacTaggart family could stand for short periods.

"Me? Oh why me?" Rahne sighed softly, before smiling at Anne.
"Where is he, Anne?"

"Up a tree, where else," Anne said, sighing quietly. "And as to why you? I'm giving you full premission to use your power to bite his arse, dear." Anne smiled a tired smile. "If I had the foresight to drown both at birth and divorced my husbande, believe me, I would have. I can't handle this," she said, gesturing in the direction of Gabriel.

Jonothon glowered from the sidelines. His bandaged face and forbidding stare stopped people from talking to him. Which was just about the way he liked it.
He nodded briefly at Rahne and Christine, then went back to making the assembled nobles feel uncomfortable. His telepathy wasn't really picking up anyone hostile, but he couldn't rely on that. SHIELD had captured Xavier after all, and Psylocke most probably. And they were both far more powerful and trained then he was.

"It's nae yuir fault, Anne," Rahne sighed.
"Show me where he is then. I'll get him out of the tree. Carl, lad? Just make sure there's toothpaste and mouthwash waiting when I'm done..."

Anne and Carl both nodded. "He's in a tree, near the area where you told us to park the cars," Anne said, barely keeping a grimace off her face. "Those sons of mine are making me age before my time."

Rahne nodded slightly, starting to make her way to the doors. She'd have to remove the dress and jewellery...they wouldn't go with her when she changed, and she didn't want to lose or wreck them.
Soon enough, the rangy red wolf loped out to the parking lot to find the lady Anne's second son doing exactly as she had hinted at. Rahne sighed. The good woman didn't deserve her family.

Anne sighed and took a glass of the wine and sipped it. Both sons were driving her nuts and she hated the fact that the two of them were hers.
Phillip was up in the tree, singing raunchy songs at the top of his lungs, clad in his mother's nightgown.

Rahne put her front paws up on the trunk of the tree, fixed her jaws in the trailing material of the nightgown and pulled.
How had he even managed to get that gown here?

Phillip screamed like a girl as Rahne pulled him out of the tree. "Ah, bad dog!" he said with an affected lisp.

Jono, luv, can you see what's taking Paige so long Christine sent as Gabriel dipped her. I do not want to spend another ten minutes dancing with Gabriel.

Bad dog?
Rahne growled a little and tugged harder.
She just wanted to get back to the ball. How she was meant to get Phillip back into his breeks and presentable was beyond her. But at the moment, she would just settle for him getting out of the tree.

Phillip came tumbling down out of the tree with that last good tug. "Ah, damn it all, Mum's going to tan my hide when she sees I've ruined that nightgown," he said, taking the lisp out of his voice. "And how can she stand wearing it? It's seven years out of fashion. High collar nightgowns went out of style after Edward was king." He huffed slightly.

Rahne sighed slightly and fixed her teeth in the hem of the night gown once more before starting to tug him towards the door. Get him inside and out of sight, at the very least.
