"Some things, even when they're bad, are needed to happen," Jubilee said thoughtfully.
"And sometimes it's just your joss, the way things are going to be. I would say you can't change the past, but someone already did."

“Now dat ain’ fair. Even drunk, y’ be insightful,” Remy joked, grinning at her. “But y’ know, all t’ings aside, I’m beginnin’ t’ realize dat alt’ough I still have all dese memories, maybe it not a bad t’ing dey didn’t happen. Dere was a lot o’ bad stuff I wish I didn’t r’emember.”
Reaching out, he hooked one finger beneath her chin and lifted it slightly.
“Besides, here I got you. Somet’in’ else I wouldn’t change.”
"I'm smarter then people think I am, you know," Jubilee said.
She smiled slightly as he put a finger under her chin, lifting her head up.
"I wouldn't want to be anywhere else."

Gambit stared into her eyes for a moment, before quickly leaning back again. Things were moving back to dangerous territory again.
“Good t’ know, cause it looks like we be stuck wit’ each ot’er, non?” he said, grinning lopsidedly.

"You say that like it's a bad thing," Jubilee laughed as he leaned away again.
Great, now I've made things weird...way to go Jubilee, you idiot.
"There are worse fates. We could be Summereses. Es."

“Now I didn’t say dat. I can t’ink o’ a lot o’ worse t’ings, an’ very few, if any, better ones,” Remy replied. Laughing at her next comment, he stopped quickly as he thought about it.
“Summerses...es? As in plural? How many o’ dem dere be?” he asked curiously.

Jubilee paused for a moment, looking confused, before she shook it off. There was an edge of a memory there, but she couldn't quite...grab it.
"Scottie boy, and Havok. He's a Summers, but we try not to mention it. He doesn't like to be reminded."

Havok is a Summers? Dat must be rough bein’ on de opposite side o’ y’r frère...
Deciding to keep this thought to himself, Remy nodded.
“Right. I’ll jus’ keep dat t’ m’self den,” he said. “Anyt’in’ else I should know?”
"He doesn't talk much about what happened before he came here," Jubilee said thoughtfully.
"I've snooped some, but you're the one who encoded and protected Magneto's files and stuff."
She raised an eyebrow at him.
"I can get into most places, but I can't quite get into something you've done yet."

“I can understand dat. Y’ know, I t’ink y’ be de first person dat I jus’ sat down, an’ tol’ all ‘bout m’ past?” Remy said, a hint of surprise in his voice as this realization struck him. “I mean, it kinda helped dat y’ already knew most o’ it, but still.”
Shaking his head, he shifted over so he could lean back against the dresser. He was very interested in this new information.
“Hmm, I be quite de asset aroun’ here, non? An’ I can guarantee dat not too many people could get past de security once I had m’ hands on it.”
His words didn’t hold a hint of bragging, he was simply stating fact. Confidence in his work was something Gambit never lacked.

"You know...knew...stuff about me I'd never tell anyone else," Jubilee said softly.
"We're all people who like secrets, here. Got our own little things we like to hide..."
She shook her head slightly.
"Yeah, thieves are handy people. Who better to protect against other thieves then the Prince of Thieves, the amazing, the fantastic Remy LeBeau?"

Lowering his head at her confession, Remy frowned.
“I so sorry, p’tite. I wish I r’membered,” he said just as quietly. “I know it musta been hard, an’ I won’ ask y’ t’ relive it all again. But if y’ ever wanna talk...”
He left the silent off hanging in the air, before latching onto her new topic.
“Mais, at least m’ reputation still be in tact, non? I much like de title o’ Prince o’ T’ieves, ‘cept fo’ de Robin Hood tie in dat seems t’ come wit’ it.”
"Yeah," Jubilee said quietly in response to his offer, before sitting up straighter.
"Hey, it was a cool movie. And the Sheriff was excellent."

“Oui, but still. I ain’ de steal from de rich, give t’ de poor type,” Remy continued. Glancing around the room from the forgotten cards to the partial bottle of liquor, he finally pushed himself to his feet.
“Y’ know, I should prolly get goin’,” he said, his expression neutral.

"You don't have to," Jubilee said in a very quiet voice, looking down at her hands.
"I didn't...dammit. I didn't mean to mess things up."
