Taela ignored the pain as she ran. She knew she had a long way to go and not a lot of time. The blackbird's trail would not last long. I must find Logan. I have to. Dead or alive, I won't allow him to be left behind. I won't let Christine have a never-healing wound like the one I carry. I won't let her suffer. Taela ran, a black blur along the sides of the roads. She ignored the ache of her muscles that lingered from her transformation. Accursed cajun. This would be so much easier if he paid attention once in a while.

Taela paused when she reached a field of debris from the sentinel that the boys had destroyed on their way back to the school. When she paused she shivered. "Bloody cold out here. I should have chose a form with more fur.....ah, well......can't do anything about it now. Hurts too much to shift into anything else." The cold wind cut right through her fur, chilling her to the bone. "At least I'm in the right direction. The trail's gone. So, if he was facing this way when he fell....they were coming from this way!" Taela oriented herself according to the way the destroyed sentinel lay and took off again. "If I keep moving, I won't be cold.......can't stop, must find him......." Taela told herself, ignoring the pain of her stiff muscles and aching joints. "Why on earth did I have to run off and be so reckless? Oh well. I made a promise and I'm going to keep it."

Taela shivered even as she ran. To keep herself from becoming distracted, she began to mentally sing to herself just to keep her mind on something.
It's easier to run replacing this pain with something numb it's so much easier to go than face all this pain here all alone
something has been taken from deep inside of me a secret i've kept locked away no one can ever see wounds so deep they never show they never go away like moving pictures in my head for years and years they've played
if i could change i would take back the pain i would retrace every wrong move that i made i would if i could stand up and take the blame i would if i could take all the shame to the grave i would if i could change i would take back the pain i would retrace every wrong move that i made i would if i could stand up and take the blame i would i would take all my shame to the grave
It's easier to run replacing this pain with something numb it's so much easier to go than face all this pain here all alone
Sometimes i remember the darkness of my past bringing back these memories i wish i didnt have sometimes i think of letting go and never looking back and never moving forward so there would never be a past
if i could change i would take back the pain i would retrace every wrong move that i made i would if i could stand up and take the blame i would if i could take all the shame to the grave i would if i could change i would take back the pain i would retrace every wrong move that i made i would if i could stand up and take the blame i would i would take all my shame to the grave
just washing it aside all of the helplessness inside pretending i don't feel this place is so much simpler than change
It's easier to run replacing this pain with something numb it's so much easier to go than face all this pain here all alone
She never really knew why she liked Linkin Park so much, but somehow she felt the song fit her present situation. The lyrics about wounds and such always reminded her of the wounds she bore. The song reminded her of her promise to Christine and kept her going, even though she hadn't rested since she started running and desperately needed somewhere warm to sleep.

Taela sighed as she slowed to a stop. She could barely breathe anymore, and the cold was freezing her fur to her skin. She had run into some woods, of which she was very glad. In her demon fox form, she was much more animalistic and her mind was starting to shut down from all the different emotions and pain that were coursing through it. Without thinking she chased and caught a rabbit that foolishly came into her view. She was so hungry and cold she simply downed the rabbit practically whole. She found its hole and curled up inside, ignoring the dirt that clung to her fur. She was glad to be out of the cold wind, and she licked her sore paws in an attempt to get rid of the ice that cut into them. She looked out of the hole's entrance and up at the few stars that glittered through the trees. I just hope the others don't miss me. Christine....I should be there, helping her, but no. I'm out here trying to give her the closure I didn't have...ah, well. Might as well get some sleep.... Taela put her head down and with a final shiver drifted off into a dreamless sleep.

It was nearly noon when Taela managed to rouse herself from her sleep. Her paws still hurt, but it was less than before. Her muscles didn't cramp and ache so much as she slid from the rabbit hole. Shaking off the half-melted ice, Taela was thankful that it appeared to be a warmer day than before. The dappled sun that slipped through the trees felt good on her dark fur. She yawned and looked about. DANGITALL!!!!!!!! She cursed herself for not leaving a single clue as to which way she had come. The light snow that had held her prints was melted, and with it went all traces of a trail. She sighed and listened. She could hear cars, and she could smell the smog and other smells that came from the city that was not very far away. The city. Now I know that I'm headed in the wrong direction. She thought to herself. With a sigh she decided that since the city held warm things like heating vents and food, she would postpone the search for later. Sticking to the thick brush and shadows, she quickly made her way into the city.

{OOC: I don't know if you've finished with this thread or not, but if you have just ignore this}
Angel was on a wide sweeping patrol beyond the city, having heard talk of unexplained odd activities in the surrounding areas, and he suspected it was either a shady criminal whom he would do well to spy upon or another mutant, and if it was another mutant he was curious to meet, greet and investigate.
Travelling along the air currents, twisting, swooping and swirling among the clouds, Angel was having the time of his life, not really paying that much attention to his self imposed mission, sparing only the odd glance downwards.
Yet through the corner of his eye, he noticed something creeping through the bushes towards the city. While the creature was adept at stealth, Angel's keen hawk-like vision could see something sneaking along the ground.
His intent here being to investigate suspicious behaviour, he could certainly think of nothing more suspicious than something sneaking towards the city, so he took the only logical action he could and swooped down towards his target, screeching his next words.
"I am Archangel! you shall desist your criminal acts, then perhaps all shall be forgiven!"
