(OOC: Is this during the 'first strike' thread? If it' not, I'll jsut clear out the parts relating to it...just because. ^_^)
Larza cut another bite-sized piece off her waffle.
"So how hard do you think those Sentinels will be to kill off?" she asked, frowning in thought. "The ones in the Danger room were only simmulations, butu it was really hard to get rid of 'em. I hope it won't be worse, but I bet it willl."
As she spoke, a faint pain in her head apeared, then got larger, as her empathy tried to make sense of the emotions flowing around nearby on it's own. She put a hand on her forehead and closed her eyes for a moment, mentally cursing her power.
'*Why* do I have a bad feeling about this?' she wondered, re-opening her grey eyes, as she blocked off the pain, at least for the time, using the technique she'd come upon for making her mind hard to read.
It wouldn't last for long, but she hoped it would kep the pain away, and let her make some sense of it.
She knew for a fact she wouldn't like the answers.

(ooc: sure why not?)
Matt shoved his fork through several pieces of waffles making a little shiscabob (sp?) as Laarza talked. He stuffed it in his mouth. After he swallowed, he was aout to answer but noticed she had a hand on her head like she had a headache or something.
"Hey, you ok? Somethin' wrong?" he asked, just then remembering from somewhere that she had something called 'empathy'.

She nodded, smiling faintly.
"I'm fine, just sensing something too strongly, I think." she said, shaking her head. "I felt like grief, or guilt. I' not sure where it was coming from though."
She reached her fledgling empathy out, on pourpose this time, trying to figure out where it was coming from, to no avail.
She sighed. "Now that's going to be bothering me for awhile, untill I figure it out." she said, smacking herforehead lightly with her gloved palm.

Matt smirked smirked then chuckled. "Yeah I know the feelin' " he said before sticking another couple of waffles chunks in his mouth. "Can you tell if it's somebody we know?" he asked through the mouthful, remembering only halfway through all the stuff his mom had taught him about table manners.

She shrugged. "I'd think it was. But...it's so jumbled up I can't tell exactly who, or where, or why. It's just a swirl of emotions." she said, sighing.
"I hate my empathy." she muttered wryly.

Matt nodded (ooc: .........). "Guess I'd hate it too then" he answered, after swallowing the waffles. "Got milk?" he asked himself before standing and walking to the refridgerator again.

(OOC: Lol)
Larza laughed slightly, shaking her head. But she was still trying to figure out what was wrong in her mind.
'It feels sightly familliar...' she mused to herself. 'I bet it's that strike team that left recently...'
She blinked as she realized the implications of that realization.
'Not. Good.' she thought. 'Very not good.'
(OOC part 2: I gotta go! See ya' around! ^_^)

Matt pulled out the white milk carton and unscrewed the cap. He almost drank straight from the carton before he realized there was someone else in the room and quickly poured some in a cup. After replacing the remaining half gallon in the refridgerator, he returned to the table and took a big gulp.
Setting the cup down again, he noticed Larza seemed preoccupied with thinking about her empathy, so he continued eating without saying anything.
(ooc: and another of Matty's quirks is revealed! lol)

(OOC: Lol)
The implications were disturbing. Either one of the strike team were dead, or injured very badly.
"I think I know what happened." she urmered, brushing back a stray strand of her bangs. "Something happened to the strike team..."

Matt looked up from his playing with his waffles abrubtly. Logan, Guido, Pyro and Gambit.... he thought. Maybe they underestimated what the Sents could really do...?... his mind wandered.
"But ya can't tell who can you.....Well there's gotta be at least someone left from the team, cause the Blackbird's not back yet so no one here would know 'bout it. It must be someb'dy on the team your sensin'..."

"I'd think I'd have to know the person to sense it this badly. It's either Gambit or Pyro then." she said, blinking. "So...one of them's still alive."
She shook her head. "I almost wish I could tell, but I'm no telepath." she added, "Funny thing is, I never even became friends with my own team. I don't know why I'd be senseing this so strongly. Maybe it's from several people combined?"
She sighed. "I have no idea."

Matt agreed. "Yeah, someb'dy must be more than just hurt if your feelin' it that bad even from people you know p'rtty good."
Either Guido or Logan.....be hard to loose either.....just gotta press on I guess.....

"I don't know what to do." she said quietly, toying with her gloves.
Her mental walls were starting to crumble, giving way to let the full emotions come back and give her a headache again. She had known they would, just not this soon.
'This is just too weird and creepy.' she thought to herself, 'FAR to creepy.'

"Me neither" Matt answered in the same quiet tone. He leaned back in his chair and anxiously used his fork to move the waffles chunks around the plate in odd patterns. After taking one last bite and one last swallow of milk, he stood and took his near empty plate to the sink.
Openning the cabinet beneath the sink with his foot, he scraped the scraps into the garbage can located there. Then he carefully placed both the plate and cup in the sink.

"I guess we should find oufor sure what's going on..although I'm not sure meeting with them in person'll be very...helpful."
"If I can sense it from all the way over here, it must be too much in person." she said, shaking her head. "But if I don't...it just seems cruel not to find out."
She sighed. "As I said. I hate my empathy."
