Erik opened the doors to the medlab and walked in, Scott supported by a bluish magnetic field of energy was in tow behind him. He swept his arm over and pointed a finger at the empty bed, and the barely conscious Scott was carried over and laid gently on the bed. Then Erik released the magnetic field that was surrounding him.
"I believe this is one of your lost sheep." He said to Beast who was staring at the horribly beaten up figure of Cyclops incredulously. "I found him this way in the entryway a moment ago. He's been muttering something about a car accident." Erik's eyes met Henry's with a flint-like hardness. "Though my suspicion is this is no accident you are looking at."

Henry was nearly overwhelmed with a wash of conflicting emotions as Magneto brought the battered form into the room. Relief crashed against despair, rejoice against deep concern.
He allowed himself a moment to collect his feelings. Leaning close, he held one of the boy's hands in one of his own giant blue mitts and gently ran his other over the boy's brow.
"My stars, Scotty....what did they do to you?", he mumbled.
Old habits dying hard, Henry threw a brief sidelong glance at Magneto - remembering conflicts where the Master of Magnetism would have been the author of such injuries. He quickly put these reactive suspicions aside and began to assess the severity of Scott's injuries to determine which needed to be worked on first.
"Thank you for bringing him to me, Erik.", he said. "Any indication of how he got here?"

Taela followed silently behind and peeked into the doors of the Medlab. Knowing she would only get in the way inside, she instead waited quietly by the door for a few moments before deciding it was best if she went elsewhere and remained out of the way.

Erik shook his head. "I came on the scene after he had already arrived. He was collapsed in a heap at Jean Grey's feet when I got there."
He couldn't suppress the feeling that this was no accident. "He seems to know nothing of what has happened and is in a severe state of emotional shock I fear." He looked at Scott who even now seemed to be struggling on the brink of unconsciousness.
"Henry, check over his injuries closely. I have the feeling something very terrible has happened here." He kept his gaze on Scott as he spoke-his voice distant.

"Scott has been beaten, possibly tortured.", Henry said as he began collecting equipment and supplies to address his latest patient's woes.
"He's a very competent fighter", Henry observed quietly. "I can't believe this happened in a fair fight. Whoever did this got the drop on him."

His suspicions confirmed, Erik nodded slowly, deep in thought. "I cannot help but find it amazing that all of this has happened at the same time." He said turning to Henry. "All of the teachers and leaders gone for one reason or another at the same time that Charles was kidnapped." He pursed his lips. "Now Scott shows up with unexplainable injuries and a memory loss."
He looked hard into Henry's eyes. "It appears that we have an enemy that knows us very well. The question that is going through my mind is-who?"

"Someone with substantial backing, I'd say.", Henry considered. "The Sentinels you described alone would require resources not many could provide."

Jean walked alongside Storm, urgent to get Scott to the Medlab. She briskly walked behind Magneto, who had Scott raised in some type of magnetic field. Relieved that Henry was there to tend to his injuries, she watched from a corner as he diagnosed some of the wounds. When Magneto and Henry began talking about what could possibly have happened to Scott, she flinched at the thought of it. The fight must not have been a fair one. Scott is fully competent of fighting off miscreants, even if they do outnumber him. Poor Scott...how much he seems to have suffered., Jean thought.
"So, Henry...do you think Scott will be alright. I mean, he was standing and talking not ten minutes ago. What type of memory loss is Scott suffering from exactly? Because from the looks of it, whoever did this only wiped out that occurence, nothing else. He remembered Christine and me..so it couldn't have been a total memory loss," Jean pointed out.

Hearing another familiar voice, Scott cracked an eyelid open. He was relieved to see Hank's concerned and bespectacled face hovering over him, but instantly unsettled at seeing Magneto next to him.
In the back of his mind, he could hear Jean pleading with him to trust Magneto, but every instinct he posessed steered him away.
Trust Magneto? What's happened to everyone?
He struggled to a half-reclining position, propping himself up on his elbows.
"Hank?"

At the mention of the Sentinels Erik tensed a little, remembering his run in with them when he was with Rogue. It was as if my magnetic powers were useless against them. I need to debrief all of the mutants about what they will be facing in the Sentinels. An attack could come any time now.
"Substantial backing. I wish that narrowed the field for us. There are unfortunately a number of very influential and powerful individuals who do not care for our kind."
Just then Scott came to. He looked from Henry to Erik and back again, addressing his teammate with a note of concern in his voice. Erik turned and faced him. "Scott, I need you to tell me the most recent memory you have-no matter how hazy it is."

Scott eyed Magneto suspiciously, and glanced at Hank for support. But seeing as how neither Hank nor Ororo did anything to intervene, he decided to go along.
"Last I remember I was coming home from playing basketball in town. I was turning onto Greymalkin Lane heading towards the mansion. Next thing I remember, I awoke in the ditch, and my car was wrecked."
He paused, as if he were about to add something. There were fragments of other occurrences there, mostly flashes of pain. Scott grappled with the memories like trying to remember a dream after waking up, but was unable to grasp them.

Jean watched in silence as Magneto questioned him about what had happened. She rubbed her hands together, feeling a cold and numbness in her fingers. Sitting on a stool, she felt herself fall off of it, and onto the floor. Not wanting to cause more problems, she picked herself up quickly and back onto the stool again. The dizzy sensation she had felt before was gone, but she still felt the cold in her fingers, which was quickly spreading through her arms. Shaking her head, she took a deep breath and shivered slightly. Hoping no one had noticed what had just happened, she pretended to be intently interested in the ceiling tiles.
ooc-hopefully there are ceiling tiles..lol

Henry considered Jean's words about the moments before they arrived but did not have an answer to give her at the moment besides "He'll be fine with some rest and care". "With all of my duties here", he told her with an ironic smile, "I may need you to help out with that."
"Whatever happened to you, Scott", he said - turning his attention to his patient, "you've been gone for days", Henry told him.
He saw that Scott was visibly uncomfortable with Magneto's presence and doing his best to follow their lead. He caught Scott's gaze and then glanced quickly at their enemy-become-ally with a very slight look of concern before looking back at Scott and giving him a supportive and understanding pat on the shoulder.
"You have some serious bruises and lacerations", Henry continued, "Somebody sure worked you over. And judging by the swelling I'm guessing you might have sprained your wrist, if not broken it. Not sure about that ankle yet, either."

Speaking the obvious, Erik leaned in to Scott. "I realize my presence here is not comforting and that you are under a lot of stress and confusion right now. But let me be the first to say this: I am not here as a conqueror over the school and I am not imposing any undue authority here. That being said, I will NOT tolerate any foolishness from you. We are here to protect the students. Period."
He could tell that Henry objected to the way he was talking to Scott, but he didn't particularly care. "You really have no idea what we are about to face, do you son?"

Scott bristled. There was an extremely short list of people who were allowed to talk to him like that, and Magneto wasn't on it.
"I have no reason to trust you, Magneto. You've given us no indication of trustworthiness before, and it'll take more than just your word to change that."
He stopped as he saw rage beginning to boil over in Magneto's eyes. He knew Magneto was a formidable opponent on a good day, but he was in no condition for a conflict now.
"However, since Hank and Ororo seem to vouch for your presence here, I'll go along with it, for now. Don't make the mistake of thinking I trust you, though. Not even for a second."
