"I said let me go!" Christine said, continuing to struggle. She let out a cry of pain as the man who grabbed her applied enough force to break her already injured ankle.

Hearing the cry for pain was all he needed to hear to cause him to swoop around the area he had heard the cry from.
Floating from rooftop to rooftop he called out softly to the darkness of the surrounding alleyways.
"Is anyone non-homeless, non-intoxicated and non-offensive out there?" he asked almost jokingly to himself.

Whenever you can spare the time, hero Christine sent quickly. She continued to struggle and try to break free. I'm not sure I like the looks short and ugly is giving me...

You? what are you doing here?
But before she could answer he had leapt from the rooftop and began to gently float down towards where he assumed she was.
Turning a tight corner and ducking under a washing line, he swiftly made his way around to where she and her assailant were at business.
Hovering in air, he raised his head high and quickly floated around the corner and appeared before her and her assaliant
Warren put on his most mighty voice and attempted to seem as graceful and angelic as possible. "This is a sin, mortal, leave and all shall be forgiven." "

Rather then risk fighting what shouldn't exist - the thug took off.
Christine looked up at Warren - a worn out, and pained expression on her face. "And as for what I'm doing... Looking for you - altho, that wasn't exactly how I was hoping to run into you." She attempted to stand but fell again - landing on the ground, just a little too hard. "Ow! Bloody hell!"

Warren bows his head and raises his hands in prayer. "May the lord take his soul and do most nasty things to it."
With his prayer finished, he landed upon the ground and stepped over to Christine.
"While I am touched that you would come looking for me, I can only consider it one of your less intelligent ideas to come both around here and after me."
He lowered himself to his knees and offered his assistance in aiding her to walk.

"Yeah, well," she said, placing an arm around his neck. "Since when did Scots have sense," she added ever so dryly, an amused tone to her voice. "Came to apologize about what happened at the school."

He slowly nodded at her words, being somewhat touched by the entire event.
"Do not concern yourself with it, perhaps another time I shall join, but for now understand that I am happy as I am."
Starting to walk with her arm around his neck, he stopped as he realised this was not a way to travel fast. "I know its old fashioned and the such but would you mind if I swept you off your feet and flew us off to somewhere safer?"

Christine looked thoughtful and shook her head no. "Considering the state of my ankle, no, I wouldn't mind," she said. She was silent for a few minutes and looked at him. "I understand - I just had to come and apologize. It wasn't the best impression I wanted the school to give you."

Sweeping Christine off her feet into his arms, he began to flap his wings and head towards a nearby city park, where he hoped they would be safer.
Landing next to a park bench he gestured to the park bench and for her to be seated as he took a seat.
"I'm still interested in the school, but I need time to come to terms with my gifts, for all my confidence I'm still learning to cope and make use of my mutation."

Christine sat down and gently probed her ankle - trying to discover how bad the break was. She winced. "Well, I won't be walking on it for a few days."
She looked over at him. "I've had my gifts for six years, well, the fire thing was a recent addition," she admitted, "and I'm still trying to come to terms with them."

"You and me are learning to deal with our gifts as I am sure many young mutants are, but call it a male pride thing if you must, I simply want to find my own way and discover my gifts by myself."
He nodded slowly as he finished his words and looked down at her ankle, then with a grin he spoke. "I suppose you'll be needing a lift back to the school then?

"Yeah," she said softly. "If it isn't a problem for you," she said quietly. She smiled ever so slightly. "I'd appreciate it.."

Warren looked down at her ankle and wondered how damaged it indeed was, and the thought that he should have got there earlier to save her from the pain, wracked him with some guilt.
"Whenever you wish to return I shall be ready."

She saw his gaze shift downward to her ankle and she sighed softly. "Several of the small bones that make up the ankle were broken. But none too badly so recovery time won't be too long. I'll probably have to be off the ankle a week at best, a month at worst."
She looked up at the sky and sighed. "One thing I hate about your Yank cities... You can't see the stars at night."
