Christine curled up on the sofa, a bowl of popcorn perched next to her, and an open can of soda on the table in front of her. She telekinetically lifted up a video and slid it into the slot and watched as it turned itself on. She snuggled down in the soft fabric as the movie started and the familiar music of one of all time favorite movies started playing. OOC: Tag. Movie is White Christmas

Jean, on her way to get a snack from downstairs, happened to see Christine in her room, apparently watching a movie. She knocked lightly on the door, and walked in, smiling.
"Hey! Mind if I join you?" asked Jean, with a hopeful look. She surveyed the room, and the movie, and grinned, the movie being one that she enjoyed.

"Don't mind," Christine said, smiling. "We just started. General Waverly is about to arrive to see Wallace and Davis's show during the war." She smiled, this had to be one of her all time favorite Christmas movies. OOC: I'll probably be peppering this thread with scenes from a copy of the script I found on line

"Great!" Jean said, as she sat down next to Chris. She watched the glowing screen intently, excited about the movie.

OOC: Pre
Christine smiled. "Best movie ever made."
5D.PLATFORM - FULL SHOT
The number concludes to applause. Bob holds up his hand for silence. He removes his beard. BOB Thanks, fellows. I guess by now you know the Old Man's being replaced by a new Commanding General fresh out of the Pentagon...this division’s been awfully lucky so far, but tonight they're running a special on St. Christopher’s at the PX... The Old Man's heading back to the rear - he's never moved in that direction in his life. All I can say is, we owe so much to General Waverly and the way -- WAVERLY'S VOICE (A bellow) ATTENTION! Automatically, Bob stiffens. Phil does the same. 6.AUDIENCE - FULL SHOT Every man is at attention and every head has turned to where General Waverly has taken up a position near the front of the platform. GENERAL WAVERLY Captain Wallace, button your shirt. You're out of uniform! (Bob, grinning, hastily buttons his shirt) This division is now under the command of General Harold G. Carton, and I don't want anyone to forget it -- not that he'll let you. He's tough -- just what this sloppy outfit needs. You'll be standing inspection night and day -- you may even learn how to march. And if you don't give him everything you got, I may come back and fight for the enemy. Merry Christmas! The boys respond with "Merry Christmas". GENERAL WAVERLY (Embarrassed) Well -- I guess that's about it - uh - uh -- Bob, covering his embarrassment: BOB Perhaps I can help you out, sir. He turns to the musicians, gives the downbeat. They play THE OLD MAN, which is sung by the entire outfit. The General stands at attention through the first chorus, visibly moved. During the second chorus he starts up the aisle, revealing for the first time that his left leg is bandaged to the knee. The Adjutant puts out his arm to help. Waverly refuses. Toward the finish of the song, he turns, faces the men and salutes them. The men return the salute. (This is not a military mistake; the General salutes the enlisted men as a deliberate gesture.) There is a Red Cross ambulance standing by.

Jean watched the screen with enthusiasm, having only watched this particular movie once before, and that time not having paid much attention to it. She had enjoyed the few parts that she had paid attention to, and now was planning on taking everything in. While she tried to concentrate however, her mind fell back to a particular subject that she didn't know whether she should bring up. She desperately wanted to ask the question, and eventually, her mouth did the talking for her.
"So...uh, Christine? Have you, have you had any word from, umm...have you had any word from Scott?"

Christine was quiet, trying to figure out what to say. "No, haven't," she murmured softly. "Hadn't heard from him before Xavier was kidnapped. No clue where he is. Maybe up visiting his grandparents in Alaska or something..."

"Oh..yeah, maybe. Alaska..really cold up there. So, uh, I know I've never asked you this before but, what type of powers do you have? Just bit by the curiousity bug and wanted to know. If you don't mind me asking of course."

OOC: it's all right
"Pre or post possession by cosmic entity?" Christine asked. "Pre. Telepathy, corporal intangibility, latent telekinesis. Post. Telepathy, corporal intangibility, telekinesis and flight. Also able to produce a firebird form," she said.

"Woah..that's incredible. The whole firebird subject fascinates me as well. How do you look when you take on that form? Is it just a bunch of flames sort of molded into a birds form like I imagine it, or is it otherwise?" Jean asked Christine, grabbing some popcorn while she waited for a response.

"Perhaps I should show you," Christine said softly. She stood up and closed her eyes, changing her outfit to her uniform as Phoenix. Flames flickered about her body slowly transforming into the image of a large firey bird - wings extended. Her eyes opened slowly, and were pure gold.

Jean's eyes widened as Christine took the form of Phoenix. She had never seen anything so spectacular in her entire life. The flames were so fiery and strong. Another thing that Jean noticed was that Christine's eyes seemed to be made up of pure gold. They looked so shiny, so golden.
"Woah..that's got to be the coolest thing I've ever seen. It makes me want s'mores," Jean joked, giggling at her comment.
(ooc-lol where did the s'mores come from?!)

"I don't know if I should be offended with that or highly amused," Christine said, allowing the flames to slowly fade away. She closed her eyes and they returned to blue when she opened them.

"Highly amused," Jean replied quickly, "I had no intention of offending you. But really, that's what fire brings to mind. Besides, heat, volcanoes, destruction, wood, ashes, power, etc etc." She smiled and threw a pillow at Christine, hoping she understood that it had been a joke.

Taela peeked in when she heard the sounds of a movie and voices coming from the room. She saw Christine and Jean watching a movie inside. Perfect.... She took the form of a fox and silently slipped up behind them, being careful not to think about what she was doing to try to "fly under the radar" of Christine's telepathy. She paused just behind Jean's chair before taking the form of a small, wingless dragon. "Hey! Whacha watching?" She shouted as she suddenly leapt up and popped her head around and over Jean's shoulder.
