Magneto lead Lilandra out the door and down the patio stairs into the plush lawn that stretched out. He turned toward the elaborate hedge maze that was off to south side and they began walking toward it.
"Christine is doing well. I will take you to see her shortly." He turned to her with a mixture of emotions crowding his heart. "I fear you have come at a very bad time for those of us who live here as well. Things are about to get really ugly here, and everyone is on edge. Please forgive them any social injustice."

"Forgiven already," Lilandra said. "I wish my timing was better but I fear D'Ken has nearly found the M'Kraan Crystal. In three weeks time," she shook her head, unable to finish her thought.

They entered the hedge maze and began walking down the decorative paths in silence again. Magneto was analyzing every word, thinking over it so much that it was giving him a headache.
"Lilandra." He said after awhile, "What is our part in all of this?" He swept his hand toward the mansion when he said 'our'-indicating the students and faculty within.
"How can we help you when we are on the brink of war? I'm afraid what we have to offer is scant, and if your plans are involving Christine you will be facing ravenously protective parental figures of hers in there." He looked down at her. "The girl is dearly loved and no harm must come to her. I'm afraid people won't care about your problems or the crystal if it comes down to Christine's safety."

"She is the Guardian," Lilandra said quietly. "It is her duty to protect - no matter what the cost. Billions of lives hang in the balance - if she were not allowed to fight..." Lilandra shook her head.
"I don't know what part you'd all play - but Phoenix will most likely draw support from all of you."

Magneto stopped walking and just stood in place for a moment. Me? "You mean that Phoenix is drawing support from all of us, do you not?" He shook his head.
"I believe you sadly underestimate the protective nature of our people. If Christine is in danger, it will not matter to certain people in there whether or not her sacrifice will save billions. If she is in danger you will face MASSIVE opposition." He added the next part somewhat quietly. "Including from myself. My chief concern is to protect the survival of my people, Lilandra. You must understand that up front."

"You are absolutely right he does, but sacrifice is something that Charles would try to avoid at all costs as well." Magneto thought for a minute. "We need to keep a few of the other leaders here abreast of what is going on and whatnot. I propose that we have a meeting rather soon to determine what the best course of action is.
You have already met Ororo, and I could tell by the look on your face that you were taken aback by certain social graces. If that is the fact, let me apologize ahead of time for Logan."

"Thank you for warning me. I've been told he will be the most difficult to convince as he views the host as his own child. I was told there was another person I'd have to convince - someone special to the Phoenix. Who?"

Magneto smiled at her. "A little hint about Logan. It probably is a very bad idea to refer to the little girl he sees as his daughter as a 'host'."
He narrowed his eyes at the second part. "I'm afraid I cannot imagine who this other person might be. I have seen Chris with many of the students here-she is very loved as I said before, and as far as I know has been here for many years." He put his hand on his chin. "You know more than you're letting on."

"The rather large male mutant who gave me that rather deadly in its strength coffee made reference to it - that is why I asked," she said quietly. For some odd reason - she really felt like kissing the mutant in front of her.

Magneto nodded. "Guido Carosella. He's a little, how should I say-eccentric?" He smiled at her. "I do see her making eyes at a mutant here named Kurt Wagner. You can't miss him, he's short, blue and hairy."
They continued winding their way through the hedge maze and Magneto suddenly realized that he did not know how to get back out without looking like he was guessing. He looked at Lilandra again. "I suggest that at the earliest possible opportunity we sit with the other leaders here and discuss this situation. That way you don't have to repeat yourself over and over." Grinning he said, "As I'm sure you've already figured out will happen if we don't take preventative measures."
OOC: It's probably just his magnetic personality. Get it? hahahahaa...nevermind.

She nodded in agreement. "Yes, stating who I am and why I'm here is getting a tad annoying now." 'Stop it, Lilandra. Stop checking him out - you're a warrior!' she snapped mentally, but was unable to keep her eyes from glancing up and down again.

Magneto realized that he had never told her who he was. "Forgive me for being so rude. My name is Erik Magnus Lehnsherr. Though many here call me Magneto-I insist you call me Eric." He looked around at the crossroads they were at in the hedge maze and decided to take the easy way out.
"For now, let us return to the mansion." A bluish energy enveloped him and he lifted off the ground. "May I?" He asked, holding his hand out to her.

He took her hand and the bluish energy enveloped her as well. Slowly they lifted off the ground and rose above the wall of hedges, flying straight over to the mansion. He set her down softly on a second story balcony.
"This room is currently unoccupied. I think you'll find everything you need in there." He let go of her hand and rose back into the air several feet. "If there still is something you need don't hesitate to call me." He tapped his head as he said 'call me'.
