Awesome! Now we can say "we knew you when..."
Tell us how it turns out. I always thought it'd be a hoot to be an extra, especially in a zombie movie.

Well I'm under contract not to give specifics, but I can give you what's unde IMDB.com The movie is called Real Steel starring Hugh Jackman, Kevin Durand, Evangeline Lily, Anthony Mackie and others. It's directed by Shawn Levy (Date Night, Night at the Museum movies, Pink Panther, etc) It's being released in November 2011 by Dreamworks. The movie is a futuristic boxing movie. Boxing by humans is outlawed in the future and Hugh plays Charlie, an ex-boxer who tries to revive old robots to bring them to the championship ring. He finds out through his travels that he has an 11 year old boy, Max. They reconnect and take the journey together. I was actually involved with the first fight scene of the movie and the last fight scene of the movie. The first one was shot outside while the other one was shot indoors. Both experiences were extremely surreal. The amount of time the entire cast and crew puts in for lighting and camera shots and makeup and wardrobe and props was just incredible to watch. Sure, sometimes it was boring to wait an hour or 2 inbetween takes because of the setup. But hey, I was paid for it. I got to do 2 things off a real bucket list I have. I got to be involved in a movie with my favorite actor and I talked to Hugh (even if it was just a hello and hi back). I still had the courage, when everyone else went "you shouldn't talk to him". Extras are not supposed to interact with the actors. Ppppsh, I figure, if I was going to be thrown off set for saying hello and Hugh was an ass about it, then I don't belong there in the first place. But he wasn't. He was very pleasant to everyone. Kevin Durand is a total sweetheart and extremely funny. Evangeline is also very sweet. Shawn had us all dancing playing Eminem music during breaks. All in all, it was hard work, but it was so much fun. I would do it again in a heartbeat. And with all the movies coming here to Michigan, I might just get that chance again.
