Given Name: Jeanne-Marie Beaubier
Codename: Aurora
Age: 28
Detailed Description of Powers: Energy emission in the form of very quick flight, isolated rapid movement of various body parts and the ability to radiate light. Rare concussive energy blasts which drain her physically.
Originally from: Montreal
Known Family: John-Paul Beaubier (twin brother), Parents (deceased)
Physical Description:
Eyes:Blue
Hair: Black
Height:5’7”
Weight: 175 lbs (athletic build)
Personality: Jeanne-Marie’s true personality is that of a quiet, highly religious young woman. Her alternate identity (Aurora) is anything but conservative. Rambunctious and bold, Aurora is confident, strong and unabashed by the things Jeanne-Marie fears.
Other: Jeanne-Marie suffers from dissociative identity disorder, also known as multipersonality disorder.
Bio: Adopted along with John-Paul, Jeanne-Marie and her twin brother were separated at a very young age when their parents died in a tragic accident. John-Paul was re-adopted by a loving middle class family (the Martins) but they were unfortunately unable to adopt Jeanne-Marie as well due to financial issues. In consequence, Jeanne-Marie found herself in a repressive Catholic school. Driven to despair and frustration, Jeanne-Marie attempted to kill herself at age 15 by jumping off the roof of the school but instead activated her latent mutant abilities. Instead of falling to her death, she found herself flying over Canada at super-speed. She finally returned in the care of police officers who had found her wandering the streets confusedly. The nuns disciplined her harshly, causing her personalities to split and she was taken over by the bolder and angrier Aurora. After turning the severe beatings she was receiving back on the nuns, Aurora grabbed Jeanne-Marie’s things and fled from the school. Suddenly on the streets and without the oppressive nuns, Aurora found not the fear and uncertainty that Jeanne-Marie might have known, but the invigorating excitement of freedom and independence. Aurora dominated for the next five years, getting in and out of trouble and doing whatever she pleased with a group of powerful underground mutants who called themselves the Alpha Freaks. It was a shock when Jeanne-Marie at last resurfaced, the last thing she remembered having been the nuns brutally beating her at the school. Surprising and confusing Aurora’s friends, Jeanne-Marie struggled to comprehend what had happened, while picking up on clues Aurora had left behind for her (I.e. diaries and such). Though highly disturbed, Jeanne-Marie eventually broke away from her alter personality’s shadowy friends and began building a life for herself. She changed her appearance, threw out her clothes and got a job at a daycare. Eventually all that was left of Aurora’s five year stint were the disturbing dreams she had at night.
Until it happened.
While out one night making an emergency run to the store, Jeanne-Marie was mugged by a group of burly men. Aurora broke through, violently attacking the assailants and unleashing all the energy Jeanne-Marie had been repressing. Bloodthirsty and out of control, Aurora then proceeded to wreak havoc on everyone she encountered on the streets that night leaving Jeanne-Marie exhausted in her apartment filthy and terrified of what she was afraid she had done. Three days later, reality shattered.
And in the Interview:
Why did you choose our site?: I was a member previously on the site, playing as multiple characters but primarily as Nightcrawler. I had mod powers, but had to leave the site when it became evident I would not be able to keep up with it (I was without computer for about a year or so). I applied later as Jean Grey but decided that although I would’ve liked to join, it was not the best time for me too. Now that I’ve got my own laptop, and I’m out of high school, I’ll have more time to devote to the site.
What about this character do you like?: Though I’ve never actually played as Aurora I’ve always wanted too. The concept of multiple personalities really fascinates me and I love playing ambiguous or ever self-contradictory characters. Aurora is definitely just that. Most of my writing tends to be fairly macabre, which works well with the new concept for the site and I imagine any place Jeanne-Marie might have in this strange world.
Have you ever RPed before? Where?: I’ve been on several sites, but did the most on xevolved. I also ran a Harry Potter RPG, but that site has been dead for about a year now.

Jeanne-Marie
Silence. The clock read 10:15 P.M. in bright pixilated red.
Jeanne-Marie stared through the darkness of her one bedroom apartment, listening to the sounds of night and trying to convince herself that she was tired. She followed the scuttling of a cockroach for several moments with her mind, vaguely trying to place where exactly in the room it was. It wasn’t that she minded them that much, but she didn’t like waking up in the morning to find one had died on her or decided that her face was a good place to camp for the night.
The scuttling stopped.
“ At least he can sleep.” Jeanne-Marie mused aloud. Even under the influence of insomnia medication it seemed sleep was more and more elusive these days. What with the dreams, she couldn’t really be blamed.
Outside her window raucous voices sounded from somewhere on the streets. Jeanne-Marie glanced at her clock and her heart skipped a beat. It read 2:50 A.M.
Aurora
Regardless of how dear Jeannie felt about bugs, that cockroach was annoying the hell out of Aurora. Throwing off the bed covers--she’d just as soon go without the stifling things--Aurora focused her energy outwardly and emitted a low glow; just bright enough to find the offensive creature. Once she’d spotted it, she grabbed a leather bound bible from the dresser and slammed it down on the roach.
The scuttling stopped.
Closing her eyes, Aurora smiled with relief…and then mischief. Raising her arms up above her head and standing on her toes, Aurora stretched all the muscles Jeanne let go unused with her lack of any physical activity that involved more than walking or sitting.
She had control, and she’d be damned if she wasn’t going to have some fun before Jeannie woke up.
