Given Name: Jamie Madrox
Codename: Multiple Man
Age: 28
Detailed Description of Powers: Madrox possesses the mutant ability to create identical physical duplicates of himself when violently struck (or when he strikes himself). It is not yet known precisely how Madrox's power works: although the duplicate bodies seem to "split off" from within him, he does not undergo a mitosis process like that of cells, creating identical entities each with half the mass of the original. Each duplicate possesses the same mass as the original. He does not appear to be transmuting nearby elements into his likeness either. If he is indeed converting energy to matter, the expected devastating release of energy must be shunted elsewhere since it is not in evidence.
Upon sufficient impact, Madrox "splits off" a single duplicate. Although he can "create" multiple selves consecutively, he cannot bring into being more than one duplicate at a time. The maximum number of duplicates of himself Madrox can "create" consecutively before taxing his ability is not yet known. (He once produced twenty of them.) Each of the duplicates is capable of independent thought, feeling, and action, although they are telepathically linked from formation to absorption. It is not known if death to the original body would automatically kill all of the duplicates. Each of the copies possesses the, original's power, and are capable of duplicating themselves at will, as well.
Madrox's duplicates remain in existence for as long as he wills them to. When he wills them out of existence, they are seemingly "absorbed" back into his body. It is not yet known whether they always automatically disappear if the original is rendered unconscious.

Physical Description: He’s the only kid in town who can field his own baseball team. He can go on a double date without any other guys having to be involved. He can form a conga line all by himself are we getting the picture here?
Don’t worry, ladies, there’s plenty of Jamie Madrox to go around!
Personality: To the outsider, Jamie Madrox is the kinds of guys who seem to blend into a crowd. In fact, Jamie Madrox is a crowd! He has a pretty good sense of humor overall, even though for the most part, tragedy and disappointment have beset the latter part of his life. There is also an introspective part of his nature, something that he inherited from both his father and his mother-an inquisitive mind and a thirst for knowledge. He’s actually a pretty intelligent guy, but for some reason feels as if he should hide that behind a joke or a macho facade.
Other: Amongst various other hobbies, Jamie also has recently been trying his hand at private investigation. In his favor he is able to man the phones, tail a lead, file paperwork and do any number of other jobs all at the same time. His PI endeavor have been
Bio: James Madrox was the only son of two researchers working at the Los Alamos Research, Center in New Mexico. There in the desert heat of Los Alamos, this blissful little family lived a relatively ordinary and happy life for many years. At least as ordinary a life as could be afforded given the nature of Mr. & Mrs. Madrox research. Jamie’s parents were working on a very important research project that involved being exposed to high levels of radiation on a regular basis. Later, when Jamie’s mutant powers were to emerge in an accident, it was believed by some of the medically trained scientists at the Research Center that perhaps the mutation was a result of the excessive exposure to the radiation that his parents had had. This however, was far from true. The truth was that the mutation was passed down to Jamie from his parents who were unwitting carriers of the X-gene, the gene responsible for mutation.
Wanting the best for their son, Jamie’s parents did some checking around and discovered a place that might be able to help him many months later. They began to talk with a man named Charles Francis Xavier, who seemed not only more than willing to help their son adjust to his powers and his way of life, but also far more than capable of fulfilling this goal. The more they checked into it, the more they agreed it was the best course of action. Jamie Madrox would be enrolled in Xavier’s school after his sixteenth birthday.
But tragedy was to strike the Madrox family before that could ever take place. When Jamie was fifteen his parents were killed by a tornado that swept through the city of Los Alamos. Jamie survived the disaster alone, and though he was stricken with grief he tried at first to pick up the pieces and care for his parent’s farm. It proved to be too much for him to deal with, however, and eventually he had to come to grips with the fact that he had to move on. Figuring Westchester could not possibly be that difficult a journey to undergo on his own, Jamie Madrox set out late one evening, and over the course of the next week or so picked his way across the nation city by city, state by state, eventually arriving in New York City.
But he hasn’t quite made it to Xavier’s. Instead he rents a building in the downtown area with a loft space above it. Upstairs is where he lives, downstairs he has a quaint little business operation going known as X.F. Investigations. Jamie(s) run a little private investigation business. He hasn’t exactly hit it with Ferraris yet or grown a bushy moustache, and there definitely is no Higgins running around to take pot-shots at…but at least he’s paying the bills-and has been for a few years now.
And that’s right. I said quaint.
About the only people he has met and knows well in the New York City is a big guy named Guido Carosella and a wee little lass named Rahne Sinclair. From time to time they help him in his private investigations.
And in the Interview:
Why did you choose our site?: Looks potentious. Is that a word?
What about this character do you like?: He has a fun personality, but also has multiple sides to him. Get it? See what I did there? Multiple. Because of the…nevermind.
Have you ever RPed before? Where?: I have. I’ve played Jamie on a couple of other sites. One was long ago on a site called Left Turn at Westchester.

It was quiet.
Too quiet.
“No seriously, could one of you turn up the music or something? This is lull is driving me crazy.” Jamie went back to his desk and sat down while two of his multiples scurried off. He thought he heard one of them say ‘short trip’ under his breath, but chose to ignore it.
Maybe it was a short trip to crazy, but whose fault was that? You try living and mainly interacting with copies of yourself sometime. I dare you.
It had been weeks since he’d had a true lead for his business. In fact, the last ‘case’ he solved was one involving a distraught old lady who was looking for her little girl. Well, Guido Rahne and Jamie searched the city for clues only to eventually find and return the little girl. Only it wasn’t a girl. The crazy old lady sent three professional investigators of the highest caliber out on a search for her cat.
A cat!
He was pretty sure that rumors of that particular escapade were circling amongst the other private investigators even right now. No wonder his phone wasn’t ringing.
Stupid cat!
