Chris (as she was slowly allowing herself to be called that again - it did feel familiar, but only just starting to) bounced on her heels and clapped her hands together as she saw the piano in the rec room. Yes! Just the thing she needed! One of the things she did remember was her fondness for playing the piano. She settled down at the piano, running her hands over the ebony and ivory keys, getting a feel for the sound. Yes, sounded to be in tune. She closed her eyes and allowed her fingers to dance over the keys, losing herself to the music. Her fingers danced up and down the keys, turning out the soft music. She just kept her eyes closed, not wanting to focus on anything but the music. "Floating, falling, sweet intoxication Touch me, trust me, savour each sensation let the dream begin let your darker side give in to the power of the music that I write The power of the music of the night You alone can make my song take flight Help me make the music of the night," she sang softly, absently, allowing her fingers to slow and finally trail off. She shook herself before beginning again - almost as if she was nitpicking her first trial and demanding perfection from her music. There, she thought, frowning. The G key was sticking, marring her music. She sighed, getting up and propping up the top of the piano and looking in. Rats' nest. Damn it, she mused, before starting to untangle it. The small cuts on her fingers were worth it, she thought with a firm nod, trying to ignore the sting due to the piano wire before settling back down. She tapped the G key again, pleased this time. Yes, that sounded better. She quietly fell back into playing - not noticing someone else had joined her. OOC: open!

Tatiana had paused when she entered the rec room. She hadnt known someone would already be there. Hoping to be alone, the young woman had quietly packed a bag with her secret stash of snacks and Guitar hero equipment. Tati had been trying to teach herself how to get really good. She had even worn her ratty old white tank top and shorty short cutoff jean shorts to complete the 'rocker' look.
"Exscuse me, you are really really good at that." Tati took the initiative to speak to the other young woman she saw playing the piano. The girl looked to be around her own age. And Tati knew she should prolly know the others name, but she couldnt recall it.

She startled, slamming her hands down on the keys in surprise. "Ah," she said, before blushing. "T-thanks," she stammered out. She rubbed her hands a little, trying to see if that would help the sting in her fingers - stupid piano wire. "I've been stressing recently so I figured work my stress out via the piano."
She gave a tiny smile. "I just wish the piano was better tuned - it's passable but," she gave a small idle shrug. She glanced over to see the guitar, if that's what it was - didn't look like one she knew. "Oh, do you play?" she asked, gesturing to it.

Tatiana jumped a little when the other girl slammed the piano keys. Then she tried to smile apologetically. "Im really sorry for startling you, and I get it about the music. I dont really play good, this is some of my Guitar Hero gaming equipment. You ever played?" She walked over to the large tv and set her bag down.
She began pulling out the cords and started sorting them. "I have a bunch of extra stuff if you wanna play too." Tati pointed into her bag. "I have another guitar, the drums, a microphone. Anything you could want." She laughed. "Im not very good at all, Ive been trying to secretly learn without any of the pesky guys finding out."

She tilted her head, thinking. Had she played Guitar Hero? No, the name didn't sound familiar so probably not. "I don't think so, at least, I don't remember," she admitted, biting her lower lip a little. She rubbed the back of her neck absently.
"If you don't mind, I think I'll watch first to see how it's played before I attempt," she ventured. "And agreed, the boys here are terribly pesky. Especially that Bobby," she said, groaning a little. "He's nice, don't get me wrong, but he doesn't know how to keep his mouth shut."

Tatiana nodded as she flicked on the tv. She held up the guitar. "I totally agree with you on that one. Ive never even spoken to him, but the horror stories I hear are enough to sour my opinion." She pretended to shiver in fright.
"Now, Im not the best at this game, quite a starter really. But as you can see this 'guitar' has colored buttons. I like the older models, the new ones are way too complicated for me." Tati pointed to the screen as the game started. "You try to hit the same colored buttons on the guitar as the color of the music notes flying by on the screen." Tatiana attempted to explain what she was doing as she tried to keep up.
"This is only the first level, it can get so hard on the advanced levels. I havent managed to win those levels yet." Tati laughed as she managed to finish the first level. Its more fun when someone is singing along to the lyrics on the screen or playing the drums." She paused, "But Id never ask one of the guys to play with me. Yuck."

She nodded, listening to the other woman's explanation about the game. Sounded easy - yet complicated all at the same time. "What kind of music does the game have?" she asked, curious like a kitten. Who knew, maybe she would like this game - besides, the guitar did look interesting and less likely to hurt.

"Well, I have heard that there are al ot of bands that have music out for this game, but I only have the classic 80s rock editions." Tatiana explained. "That is totally some of my favorite music ever, so thas what I got."
She hit pause on the game and held out the guitar. "You can try this, and Ill grab the mic, you can have your pick of the lot." Tati wasnt picky. She was by no means a good singer at all, but she did love ot try and belt out the classics.

"Okay," she said, smiling easily at the other girl. There was just something about her that put the young woman at ease. Maybe it was because she had no preconceived notion of what this woman was supposed to be like that made it easy for her to get along with her, but it sure did help.
She held the guitar, her eyes drifting over the buttons, before she glanced up to see the song list. Hmm... what sounded interesting. "What about this one?" she ventured, looking at one of the songs on the list.
OOC: Um, at this point - I'll let you pull the name of the song since I'm not even sure where to begin XD I'm looking at the music catalog and I'm all "um..."

"Sure if you wanna die on the first try. Lets do 'The Warrior' Ive been able to finish that one before." Tatiana pointed to the top of the list. She held the mic up to her mouth. "Im warning you now, I am not a good singer but I have fun with it! Total girl power song."
"You just click start there and you will lead into it."

"Okay, here goes," she said, worrying her lower lip for a moment before starting into the game. Total girl power, huh. Well, that sounded okay. Heaven knew she could use some of that, especially when dealing with the Human Popsicle. She glanced at the screen and gave a small eep and tried to keep up with the appearing buttons.

Tatiana started to laugh at the other girls surprise, but her part caught up with her really fast. She smiled and launched full force into the song with all her ill singing heart!
"You run, run, runaway It's your heart that you betray Feeding on your hungry eyes I bet you're not so civilized
Well isn't love primitive? A wild gift that you wanna give Break out of captivity And follow me stereo jungle child Love is the kill Your heart's still wild ..."
Tatiana took a quick breath during a guitar solo.

That song was of the devil, she was sure. It was so hard to keep up, especially since those arrows were pretty damn quick. She winced once or twice when she hit the right button at the wrong time. "Sorry."

"Its ok, happens all the time!" Tati said very quickly. She was about to start singing again.
Shooting at the walls of heartache Bang, bang! I am the warrior Well I am the warrior And heart to heart you'll win If you survive the warrior, the warrior
You talk, talk, talk to me Your eyes touch me physically Stay with me we'll take the night As passion takes another bite, oh Who's the hunter, who's the game? I feel the beat call your name I hold you close in victory I don't wanna tame your animal style You won't be caged in the call of the wild ...."
Tatiana took another breath. "Having fun yet?"

"It is different, and difficult," she said, finally able to keep up with the song. Note to self, really learn how to play this damn game.
