"Believe me, buddy, you ain't got no idea of what I'm really here for," Jubilee said, pride pricked a little. And she was here for reasons bigger than he could think of. A safe way to travel, so she could pick off her targets easier. A wider client base. A way to be independent from her aunt, and to prove she could make it on her own.
"So why are you here? Doesn't seem quite your scene. Too many kids, too much bright."

Okay so the ride with Guido hadn’t gone quite as he had hoped. Bobby wasn’t exactly sure what he had hoped for, but he knew what he knew and all he could say was that as far as he was concerned that part of the night never happened.
Butthole.
While he recuperated and got his breath, Bobby actually enjoyed a few moments by himself. For the most part he wasn’t much of a by yourself kind of guy. It was better to be around people…for their sake. People needed a little of what Bobby had to offer, after all.
“Sweet…” Lights in the sky caught his attention. He had always loved fireworks. It was one of those loves that hadn’t faded in the least since his childhood. And these were some top-notch ones for sure! There were blossoms of red and green and blue and bright sparks and those little things that chased each other through the night sky. Bobby had to get a better look.
He followed them to their source, but by the time he got there they had stopped. Spotting a familiar face, Bobby went up to Logan. “Man! Did you see that show,” he looked up at the sky. “That was freaking awesome! It was like bam bam POP blam!” He gestured wildly with his hands in a ‘fireworks’ fashion.
“This place rocks!”
He followed Logan’s body language and saw a girl standing there chewing gum. He paused. He had that dejavu feeling again. “Hey,” he said after a short pause. Then he smiled real big. “You missed the fireworks! It was all POW!”

Logan shrugged and looked around, hooking one thumb in his belt while he thought about it. This definitely was not his scene. He wasn’t really sure what his scene was, but this was definitely not it. But he looked at her with a skeptical look for a second longer before he answered. “You ain’t profilin’ me, are ya?”
Little did she know, but Logan was strategically avoiding-
Logan!
He visibly flinched at the sound of Bobby’s voice. “Crap,” he muttered just before Bobby stepped up and started running his mouth. There were few people who got on his nerves like Bobby Drake did. The kid talked at about a hundred miles per hour. Logan had never met someone who could use so many words to say absolutely nothing.
Clenching down on his cigar with his teeth, he didn’t say a word.
His face said it all.

"Fair's fair, bak yan." Jubilee rolled her eyes; it wasn't like he'd been doing some stereotyping right back at her. Usually, she wasn't quite this mouthy but something about this guy just got right up her nose and she wanted to see him react. She wanted to tease him, get him mad.
Seemed like someone else could do it without even trying as this young guy who reminded him somewhat of Dug from Up bounded to their sides and started talking at him hard. All jazz hands and exclamation marks. Normally, this'd get on her nerves too but he got up the other guy's nose so fast all she could was grin.
"Glad some one liked them," Jubilee said, smiling at the new guy. "Grumpyface here thinks my act's no good."

Voices were picked up by keen senses as Samantha began to walk around the carnival grounds. She didn’t see the light show. Sam had suspected the voices were of students from the mansion and wanted to converse with others as a therapeutic way healing and maybe regaining full memories back. Great, now I sound like Charles she thought walking almost into two people.
It was Bobby and someone she hadn’t had the opportunity to meet yet. Her youthful appearance along with the chomping of gum gave Samantha the impression of another hormonal teenager trying to score with the guys. Bobby, maybe. Logan, not so much. She knew. A slight giggle sounded when she approached them. “These carnivals have a lot going on don’t they” she mentioned to no one in particular. When she saw Logan there, a sense of relief came over finally seeing a more familiar face.
“And by the looks of you” she added to Logan. “You don’t seem like the carnival type.” Looking over to the new face, Carter smiled and offered a hand in greeting. “I’m Samantha, nice to meet you. Are these boys giving you problems?”

Bobby nodded, looking over at Logan and then back at the girl. He put a hand up to the side of his mouth (out of politeness) and whispered, “He doesn’t like anything[/ib].” Which was pretty much true as far as Bobby could tell. He smoked those cigars, but they didn’t really seem to make him smile.
Come to think of it Bobby had only seen Logan smile once. And he wasn’t completely convinced that it wasn’t more of a baring of teeth thing than a smile…
“So wait a minute,” Bobby said holding up his hands. “That show was you?” He gave her an appreciating look. Then he started clapping. “Awesome! Are you like part of the show here or something?”

Logan sighed.
So much for some peace and quiet.
He wasn’t really sure which one was getting under his skin more, Drake or the Bubble Queen. Either way, he was pretty sure that the two of them together were going to be more than he could deal with. He was already looking for an exit about the time that Sam stepped up. It was just a guess, but he figured Sparkles and Frosty could probably fend for themselves.
“Yeahyeah, time to leave the kids to play by themselves,” he grumbled. He took a few steps away and looked over his shoulder at Sam. “You comin’?”

"Only one of them, he can't keep his eyes off my ass," Jubilee said with a slight wink, tossing her head a little to indicate Logan. She took the other woman's hand and shook it briefly. "I'm Lee." No need to get into the whole Jubilation, Jubilee thing. Lee was almost as bad as Smith, really. Not what she would call really identifying.
“So wait a minute,” Bobby said holding up his hands. “That show was you?” He gave her an appreciating look. Then he started clapping. “Awesome! Are you like part of the show here or something?”
"Trying to be," Jubilee said with a laugh. At least he was properly appreciative, even if he hadn't seen the full show. As she hadn't been apprehended, she was thinking about tossing her line back up and dancing a little more. The carnies hadn't even come to check to see if the debris had hit someone. Somewhere that asked so little questions could really be useful for her.
“Yeahyeah, time to leave the kids to play by themselves,” he grumbled. He took a few steps away and looked over his shoulder at Sam. “You comin’?”
"Kids, huh? Kid this!" Jubilee muttered and clicked her fingers. A little yellow ball of light appeard at her fingertips and she set it on a course to explode right against the small of his back. Above the belt line, thanks. She was immature, but probably not quite that immature.

Samantha wasn’t sure if she wanted to go with Logan or not. He might just end up ruining what could potentially have been a nice time at the carnival. Out of the corner of her eye, Samantha spotted a couple of clowns walking around with balloons for the children. A shiver ran quickly down the spine. Maybe being around him wasn’t such a bad thing after all. He could at least slice and dice them once they made their invitation to go back home with an innocent child to slaughter the entire family.
“I guess I’m going with him?” she gestured with a hand towards the Wolverine. “Nice to have me you” came for the young girl and Bobby got a small wave and wink. Taking strides to catch up the Logan, Sam wasn’t sure what he had in mind. He probably wanted to leave and Sam really wanted to experiencing more of this carnival atmosphere. “So, where are we headed?” Looking behind at the teenagers, she also commented, “Think they’ll be alright with all these clowns around?”

Bobby flinched a little when the colored light hit Logan’s back. There was small tendrils of smoke drifting up from a blackened spot on his leather jacket. That was funny. But…not. I mean, Logan was one of those guys that might just decide one day that he wanted to go all Freddie Krueger on everyone. Not that Bobby knew him too much, but he had watched plenty of television thankyouverymuch.
Still, it was funny.
“Dude,” he said to nobody in particular. Then he scrubbed his hand through his hair and his eyes went wide. “That came right out of your snapper,” he said to Lee. So that meant that she was…that they both were.
“That was awesome! Check this out,” he said with a cool grin. He turned toward the clearing and snapped his fingers. The snapping wasn’t necessary, it was just funny because Lee just did the same thing.
A tree in front of them popped, then crackled and turned white. Ice started crawling around the base, crystals forming and falling from the branches like tiny spears. When the tree was consumed he held out his palm and blew over the top of it. It started snowing around the tree.
“Ice and Lights,” he said. He nodded toward the display. “Come on, light it up.”

When the explosion hit him, Logan stopped in his tracks. Several thoughts went through his mind. It would be self-defense, wouldn’t it? Not that he really cared. But he did control himself, just enough. As Sam stepped up, he looked over at her and then nodded out toward the fun house.
“Clowns?” He looked over at her with one brow raised. It wasn’t the weirdest thing he’d heard, but it ranked up there. “I’d feel more sorry for tha clowns,” he said under his breath. He didn’t know quite what else to say to that, but he was glad for the distraction. Sam might have her own weird quirks, but compared to the two they were leaving behind she was a sapphire.
Stepping up to the fun house, Logan looked over at her. The trailer that made up the Fun House was a fairly good size. Creepy music came out of the darkened doors and inside Logan could hear a number of people screaming. He grinned, his sharp incisors glimmering in the carnival lights. “You up for a scare?”

Poking junkyard dogs with sticks wasn't a wise move, but Jubilee made no claim to being wise. Street smart, smartmouth, smart all over but not wise. She almost held her breath for a moment as Logan paused with his back to her and smoke coming off his clothes, but he walked on with the woman who'd walked up into their conversation.
“Dude,” he said to nobody in particular. Then he scrubbed his hand through his hair and his eyes went wide. “That came right out of your snapper,” he said to Lee.
"Yeah-huh," Jubilee agreed, almost scornfully. She made a gun out of her hand and made a show of blowing smoke off the 'barrel'.
“That was awesome! Check this out,” he said with a cool grin. He turned toward the clearing and snapped his fingers.
Ice froze up a tree, and then it started snowing around it. Just around the tree, nowhere else. Jubilee's eyes widened briefly, an almost instantaneous flicker of reaction before she smoothed her face out to 'polite interest'. Besides, it was kind of pretty.
“Ice and Lights,” he said. He nodded toward the display. “Come on, light it up.”
"Sure," Jubilee said, and let pretty little fairylights drift off from her fingers to circle the tree. A few minor mental adjustments and they circled and spiralled up and down the tree.

It was a perfect little winter wonderland. The only thing Bobby hadn’t added was little ice elf statuettes ice skating around the frozen tree. Still, he was pretty proud of it and he turned to gauge the girl’s reaction, only to find that she almost looked like she was bored already. It stung a little, but Bobby did his best to cover it up.
He looked back at the tree just in time to see her take him up on his request to light it up. Holding up one dainty little hand, she aimed it at the tree and Bobby couldn’t disguise the surprise when the tip of her fingers started glowing brighter and brighter until a few small sparkling spheres popped out. As if they were Tinkerbell herself, they flittered this way and that, circling around the base of the tree, and up into the crystalline boughs. The ice captured the light and soon the entire tree was glowing brilliantly, shooting tiny pinpoints of light in every direction as the faerie lights continued their dance.
Bobby let out a breath he hadn’t been aware he was holding.
That was when he realized that they were not alone. A small crowd had developed around them, and it was growing by the second. People were murmuring and suddenly all at once they started clapping and cheering. It awakened the showman in Bobby and he turned toward them with a bow.
“Thank you, thank you. You’re watching the Iceman and…Lee show.” It needed some work. He squatted down and touched the ground. Ice started traveling away from his hand toward the ‘scene’ they were painting. When it got closer it popped up out of the ground in abstract looking flowers and continued to creep across the ground until it had surrounded the tree.
He looked up at Lee with a grin, hoping that she would just go with it.

"Fancy," Jubilee murmured scathingly, but she was enjoying herself despite the bored look that was second nature to teens everywhere plastered across the pretty features of her face. Besides, people were liking this! She rolled her neck, flexed her fingers and called out more pafs from her fingertips as Bobby knelt and put a hand to the ground. Ice bloomed, and fireworks circled up the flowers and exploded in series of neon multicoloured fountains.
"Iceman, huh?" she said, frowning a little as she sent two streams of yellow and pink globules rotating in spirals both clockwise and anticlockwise up and down the main tower. "That your pirate name, Ice Cube?"

For a second Bobby wasn’t really sure if Lee was going to join him or not. She probably wasn’t used to working with someone. Either that or she was too busy being wowed by his skillz. The bored look on her face seemed to suggest just about anything but that fact.
But there was no denying the fact that the people were loving it. Cheers erupted all around them and swelled to almost deafening proportions as she sent her lights scampering and flittering about in the icy wonderland.
“Vanilla Ice was already taken,” he said as he concentrated on the snow again. His tongue stuck out just a little when he was really focusing. “And my pirate name is Robert the Chill. Last time Kurt and I played pirates that is.” He immediately realized how gay that sounded. “Which was…a long time ago. I mean, when I was a…kid.”
He looked up at her sheepishly.
Subject change!
“Big finale?” He grinned at her. “Blow these up!” He held out a hand and several large snowballs started shooting out of thin air.
