expel |ikˈspel| verb ( expels, expelling , expelled ) [ with obj. ] deprive (someone) of membership of or involvement in a school or other organization: she was expelled from school. • force (someone) to leave a place, esp. a country. • force out or eject (something), esp. from the body: she expelled a shuddering breath.
In an organism, it is sometimes necessary that to preserve itself the body will exert extreme and even violent reactions to be rid of what it considers to be foreign contaminants.
It is little different with the universe and its multitude of parallel realities.
But each distinct dimension is an organism unto itself. It offers no concern for the contaminants beyond their removal.
And so it was that the lifeforms at the heart of one reality's distress....
...suddenly and violently left one, to become the responsibility of another...
One in which their world was already all but dead.
