Nobody realizes that some people expend tremendous energy merely to be normal. - Alfred Lord Tennyson
Amara Aquilla had the courage to speak out. Once. It cost her the freedom to do so again. Nobody stepped in to speak on Amara's behalf for fear of being given the same fate. Now, she is merely a servant to the daughters of the king. A normal human as far as she or anyone else remembers. Except those who put her there. Those who watch her now. Only the fact of her punishment remains in people's memory. Not her name. Not her face. Ms. Frost helps with the headaches and the dreams of fire. And Amara does as she is told.

Name: Amara Juliana Aquilla Age: 19 Height: 5'6" Weight: 115 lbs Eyes: Blue Hair: Blonde Physical Description: Much like her personality, Amara's beauty is subdued. She applies no adornments to her body: no make-up tints her cheeks, no jewelry can be found dangling from her neck or wrists, and her hair can almost always be found pinned away from her face in a simple bun with an equally simple black elastic tie. In short, a passing glance renders her utterly forgettable, and without the slightest hint of identity or individuality. She, dressed in her plain servant's attire, the ever present reminder of her lowly position, is indistinguishable from anyone else of her station. But on the rare occasion that someone should take a longer look at her person, it is easily apparent that Amara is not one of a million, but one in a million. With ice blue eyes, a perfectly sculpted nose, and a bone-structure made for envy, there is something almost regal in her appearance. Unfortunately, her beauty is most often wasted as Amara pays it no heed, choosing instead to walk with her face cast perpetually downward in an acknowledgment of her subservience. Personality: Bound to her belief that servitude is all that she is really good for, Amara always does as she is told. Obedience is the cornerstone of her life. In the company of those she views as her betters, she is meek, reserved, and tractable and lives in a suspended state of fear of being punished for transgressions. This complete lack of any sense of self-worth or consequence clearly manifests itself from the way she carries herself, with eyes always lowered and head always bowed, to the way she speaks, her voice faint and unsubstantial.
Away from the Homo-superiors and back amongst her own kind, though, Amara is more personable. Still guarded in speech and careful never to complain lest her words become misconstrued and twisted, she nevertheless makes for a fine companion, especially for those who could stand to put use to a sweet nature and a listening ear. And not one for malicious gossip, Amara wisely, albeit selfishly, uses this asset to make sure she stays well-liked, or at least tolerated, by her peers. Winning their favor means conquering her ultimate fear: being alone. Powers: In a world of mutants, Amara is a mere human, Homo-inferior, and lacks powers or power of any kind. She cannot fly, does not possess super-human strength, and she can't read minds. So powerless is Amara, she can't even speak her own mind - or worse, doesn't even know her own mind anymore. Other Abilities: A normal human, Amara's abilities are limited. Beyond a strange penchant for easily picking up bits and pieces of foreign languages, Amara is wholly unremarkable. Limitations: In a place where Amara rarely sees the world beyond Magneto's castle, and never hears a disparaging word toward or about her master spoken, it should come as no surprise that she blindly believes everything she is told to believe. She has no reason not to. Originally From: Her true identity as a citizen of Nova Roma entirely unbeknownst to her, Amara believes that she was born and raised in New York. Known Family: Mother, Father (both Amara believes are dead) Hobbies and Pastimes: As a servant, Amara never truly has time that belongs solely to herself. Whenever she is needed, she is called for and expected to promptly make her appearance. In a way, Amara almost prefers working to having personal time. Without her work, she finds she's left with too much time to think and when she thinks, it somehow always gravitates back toward the headaches and dreams that plague her. Background: There was a time when Amara Aquilla was something else, something more. There was a time when she was the mutant known as Magma. With a personality and spirit of fire to match her powers, she was often uncontrollable. Harboring suspicions of Magneto's regime, Amara found the courage to speak out. Her words, however, fell on empty ears and her courage served no great purpose, cumulating not in the enlightenment of the masses but in the forced eradication of everything that she was. All traces of the mutant she had been were virtually gone, reduced to occasional nonsensical dreams of scorching fire that Amara quickly dismissed. It was as if Magma had never existed at all.
But Amara Aquilla herself did not vanish, though she might as well have. For in the life given to her, the life of a servant in Magneto's castle, Amara seemed to pass her days unnoticed by any living soul. And fully believing herself to be - to have always been - an inconsequential speck of a human, Amara never questioned the way those she served looked through her instead of at her. Never questioned the feeling of being ignored only to be watched behind her back. In her mind, this was as it should be. She was, after all, human and had no place in the mutant-dominated world. They had every right to be suspicious of her. Magneto himself had said humans were evil; and who was she to question the closest person she had to a god?
She was just a human. Her sole purpose in life was to serve.
