Kurt Wagner sometimes dreamt of being a mutant. But he was not.
He dreamt of love. It was denied him.
He dreamt of a shadowy demon. And he knew that it was all his fault.
He was a model human. Obedient. Accommodating, even. And he had a playful and showy side that had captured the attention of the daughters of the king.
By day, he was a servant, pet, companion, a circus freak.
And at night he fought to keep the angry demons in his mind from breaking free.
