In all honesty, Samuel knew full well that Deefer wasn't offensively powered enough to be able to attack a fully powered sentinel. The point had been to challenge her.
She was thinking on her feet, yet still respecting his command.
Perfect.
"Exactly, in order to serve Our lord properly, we must embrace our talents, and operate as a fluid device." Samuel replied, "Carry on, I'll make my first pass."
With that, the aptly nicknamed "Cannonball" Guthrie took off into the night sky.

Deefer smiled faintly - this was not the time to go preening under compliments (as much preening as someone like her did anyway), but she couldn't resist at least a little bit of pride.
"Yes, Sir." She nodded, taking off at a run in the opposite direction to him, distraction... she thought, already beginning to fade out, these things wouldn't rely on sight, it knew they were there from behind that building before. Logically, it sensed something else, heat signatures maybe, but then it would kill everything. It followed that it was something to do with their mutation - so a use of her powers would surely strengthen whatever it was they were sensing?
She ran over to a fairly large pile of debris, extending her powers a little over the pile (hopefully creating a bigger target through use of her powers that would gain its attention) as she grabbed a few of the larger rocks, lobbing them towards the robot. It was a small attack, not designed to do much damage but designed to shift its focus onto the apparently hostile force.
((gagh, I apologise for crapness. but hey two posts!))
