Taela nodded. "I want to circle a little bit, for one to get enough altitude, and two to get a quick birdseye view of the damage." She gave her wings a test flap. "Hold on tight, Star. Takeoff's going to be a bit bumpy."

"I will hold on," Shatterstar agreed, tightening his grip.
"I would not like to fall off. Unlike Terry or 'Berto, I can not fly."

It didn't take too long for Logan to track down the rest of the students. Apparently they had picked up another stray or two along the way, and from the looks of it, they had moved on from their search mission somewhat.
Coming up on the scene with an injured Storm and a bewildered Kurt trailing along behind, Logan stopped and looked around him. "I take it you didn't find anythin worth mentionin'," he said to nobody in particular.
As a wind shifted, Logan caught a scent on it that made his lip curl up, exposing his sharp teeth. Blood. And it was coming from outside somewhere.
While he waited for the reply, Logan tried to figure out whose blood he was smelling. There was something horribly familiar about that smell.
((ooc: tag Kurt, Storm, whoever))

Kurt slowly and silently walked at Ororo's side as they followed Logan. He felt protective of her injury and the devastation he had seen in her frightened face. His yellow eyes took in everything looking for some clue that would jog his missing memories.
On the lawn outside, he noticed many scattered tracks and footprints that broke the otherwise pristine landscaping. Whatever happened here, it had taken many men to do it.
Suddenly, a flash of memory stopped him short. People. Villagers. Shouting in German.
Men with pitchforks. Carrying torches.
He was running for his life.
As quickly as it began, it was gone. Kurt hurried to catch up and remained silent.

Finally leaving the front entrance behind, Storm felt slightly better just being away from there, but wouldn’t even begin to relax until they were far from the building. Trailing behind Logan, Kurt at her side, her eyes took in the damage down the rest of the building as they passed through the halls.
Barely noticing as Kurt fell behind, she turned her eyes to him when he rushed to catch up with her once more. Laying her good hand gently on his shoulder, she offered a reassuring smile. As Logan spoke with the others, she remained behind, ready to leave at a moment’s notice.

Terry turned around when she heard people inside the mansion. There were three people: an African American woman with white hair, a hairy-looking fellow, and someone covered in blue fur it seemed.
"I take it you didn't find anythin worth mentionin'."
"Uh, no, Oi don' dink we did..." Terry said slowly. She turned to Taela. "'o are dese blokes?"

Taela had gotten one flap into takeoff when she turned and saw Logan. She landed again, harder than she wanted because of Shatterstar's weight, and surveyed the group. "Alright Star, off. We're not going anywhere yet." She said, glancing back to her passenger.
Taela paused when she saw the blue furred man behind Logan. She froze, her memories bringing up one thing- he was supposed to be dead. "Kurt?"

Shattersta slid off Taela's back easily, landing on his feet agile as a cat. He nodded slightly at the newcomers.
"Logan. Storm. Nightcrawler. It is good to see you."
He ran one hand through his hair, then grimaced slightly at the blood that came off it and the feel of it slicking back the blonde strands. He wiped his hand clean on his jeans, leaving a dark red streak behind.
"I had been unaware that blood falling from the sky was a normal meterological occurence from Earth. I thought it was only one of those things you saw on movies? Ric explained most carefully to me that movies and real life are not the same thing."

Terry gave Star a weird look, forgetting for a moment that he wasn't from her world. "Uh, it doesn' 'appen 'ere," she explained. "Somethin' weird 'appened."
She looked over at Taela. "Are ye okay? Ye look like ye seen a ghost." She connected the gaze between Taela and the one she presumed to be Nightcrawler.

"Fine." Taela said. Rather than lifting the trunk and putting it down, Taela allowed it to fall through her. She then shrank her wings a good bit to re-flesh out her dragon form's scrawny frame. "It's just that the last I heard, Kurt was dead, but Christine got a bunch of us to go to Europe with her to see if another universe's Kurt might have ended up here."

Kurt brightened as he returned Ororo's smile. He was grateful as much for the warmth and concern he saw there as he was for how far removed her expression seemed from the terrified and injured woman he first saw cringing within the hole in the earth. He was certain of very little, but even without the evidence of the photograph he now carried he would have known she was someone he could trust.
Logan, too, had easily convinced him. His gruff demeanor and his matter-of-fact way of speaking to him held, in Kurt's mind, no trace of deception and a hint of an emotional bond that the older man would never admit to. The playful camaraderie in the photo made this even more evident.
He searched the faces of the others as he approached them with uneasiness. He looked for familiar eyes and a jolt of happy recognition, but he found none. The fact that two of them seemed to know him made him feel somehow guilty. This overshadowed his surprise that one of them, it seemed, was a dragon.
Shyly, he lowered his own eyes and raised a hand in a feeble greeting. “Hello”, he said softly.
The whispered words of the yellow man echoed once again in his mind.
Confused as he was, the explanation he heard from the dragon made things worse. Kurt’s hand found its way to his temples and rubbed at his aching head.

While standing there, Logan seemed to be following the conversations between the students and seemed to be watching the odd reactions of Kurt…but there was something that was nagging him about that scent. He had smelled Hank’s blood deep in the lower levels of the mansion, at least he was pretty sure it had been Hank’s blood. This was not the same smell, but the scent was just as familiar to him. It was someone very close to him, and-
“Fox!”
Clenching his jaw, Logan hissed the name through clamped down teeth. That was the smell that was bothering him. Silver Fox must have been injured in the struggle with SHIELD, and as if that wasn’t enough, the fact that she was carrying his unborn child was very disturbing.
“I gotta check on somethin’,” Logan brusquely said, brushing past everyone to a half open window at the end of the hallway. Without another word to any of the students, he pushed the window open and leapt climbed out, leaping from the second floor and landing in a diving roll on the grass below.

Feeling comforted once again by Kurt’s smile, it didn’t bother Ororo as much when one of the two newcomers called her by name, seemingly knowing her from a place that was not her own. But the young Scottish woman seemed just as lost as Kurt when it came to finding a familiar face among them.
As the Dragon spoke, so flippantly explaining her surprise at seeing Kurt, Ororo’s eyes narrowed. That girl had a knack for saying too much about something that was not important, and from Kurt’s actions, it was obvious her words served only to confuse him more.
“So you got on a plane to search a whole continent for a single person that you weren’t even sure existed?” Storm asked evenly, her voice so quiet she was unsure if anyone had heard her or not. “That makes sense.”<br> Drawing her hard gaze away from the dragon, she fixed it on the one that had been called ‘Star.’. A haunted look seemed to settle momentarily in her eyes.
“No, they’re not. Life is nothing like the movies. And I must apologize for the horrific weather, as it was partially my fault,” she explained, though she was unsure how to finish. Luckily, she didn’t have to as Logan’s abrupt exit served as ample distraction. Watching after him with curiosity, she thought to follow, but quickly decided against it. She could not make that jump without injury... and something within her was reluctant to call upon the winds to slow her fall.

Kurt could sense the tension in Logan's voice, and he watched as the older man wrenched open the window and dove out onto the lawn. Kurt did not know the meaning of the word that Logan said but he craned his neck to try to see where his friend might have gone. It sounded like trouble.
The others were in his way, and he only had a glimpse of the lawn outside, but he wished more than anything he could get out there somehow and help if need be.
Quite suddenly, he was.
With a rush of air and a cloud of smoke that held a stench of brimstone, Kurt Wagner found himself - much to his own surprise - exactly where he wished to be.
He could not contain his shocked astonishment. "Fantastisch!", he said with an enthusiastic laugh. Realizing he ought to be more quiet, he rushed to catch up to Logan's side. "What is it, mein freund?", he asked with concern.

*BAMF*
The familiar sound and the cloud of smoke hardly broke Logan from his staring at the patch of blood on the grass. It definitely was Silver Fox, there was no doubt about that now. Logan knelt in the grass before the spot where she had been wounded, and his mind numbly tried to get a grip.
At Kurt’s voice beside him, Logan only half turned. “If they killed her or the baby…nothin’s gonna keep them alive.” Turning to completely face Kurt, Logan reiterated it with a voice that was more growl than anything.
"Nothin'!"
