Larza sighed, siting on a rock in the woods near the Xavier mansion, her temporary home.
She looked at the metal-plated gloves that covered her hands, and carefully slipped them off, her sharp silver gaze falling on a tree in front of her.
She raised her left palm, aiming directly at the tree, and let one of her blades loose. It hit the exact spot she'd intended, and she nodded in satisfaction.
Just as she raised her right palm to try with that hand, she heard somone approaching from behind, and whirled, her right palm extended out of habit.

Matt threw himself to the left when Larza turned and pointe a palm at him, expecting a steel circle to saw its way through his neck. When none came, he openned his eyes and blinked with suprise. Lowering his arms, which had flown to a really stupid defense position out of reflex, he looked around to see what had happened.
Realizing the other mutant was staring at him, he quickly went through a list of possible excuses. But in the end none were plausible so he went with the usual 'get out of trouble' icebreaker. "Uh......hi." Matt said, starting to stand up.

Larza nodded a hello, before speaking.
"Sorry. I wasn't expecting anyone to come over here." she said, grabbing her gloves from on the rock, puling them back on.
"I'm not sure if we've met. I'm Larza." she added, brushing back her chin-length bangs.

He smirked and gave a half laugh before apologizing, stating his own name, walking towards her and standing next to her large stone perch. He had noticed her from a distance, sitting there on the rock, and had seen her around but never talked to her. He shoved his hands in his pockets upon noticing a large crack in a tree where Larza's blade had sliced through the bark.
Rocking back between his heels and toes and looking around, he wondered if he was annoying her with the song he was suddenly whistling since he had forgotten the words. Upon realizing he had absolutely nothing else to say to her, he started to walk away, saying only, "Well, see ya'round," out loud, but thinking I need to think up some new ways to start conversations.
Matt half hoped she'd stop him and say something, though. He was bored out of his skull with all this waiting.

Larza tilted her head. fingering the metal plating on her gloves idly.
"Why were you out here?" she asked, confused by the sudden attempt to leave.
'Seems I'm scaring people away.' she thought wryly. 'Could it be the fact that I almost put a blade through his skull?' she thought-added sarcastically.

Matt turned back around and leaned against a nearby tree. "No reason" he answered, looking around again. All of a sudden he was captivated by a squirrel slowly making its way down another tree. Heh, heh. Squirrel....evil....heh heh he thought. He and his small group of school buddies had completely random and obviously impossible ideas they thought were funny, like squirrels being the spawn of hell, the nerd in the front row thinking Star Wars actually happened in that "time long long ago" and that "galaxy far far away".
Then his mind snapped back into focus and realized she was staring at him. Trying to not looking incredibly stupid to someone he knew as basically a stranger, Matt asked "What about you?", even though it was obvious she was practicing her aim.

She shrugged.
"I was bored, and irratated, so I came ot here. I decided to shoot the tree then..." she trailed off, shrugging.
"I haven't been at my top fighting skills recently. I was making sure my aim was still good."

Matt slowly slid down the trunk of the tree into a seated position, contninuing to lean back against it as she talked. He nodded absently at the end of her explanation and sighed. "Watcha irritated at?" he inquired after a few moments of thinking.

She sighed.
"Myself. The other day I wound up in the med-lab over a stupid mistake. I think Wolverine felt guilty, and it wasn't his fault at all." she explained, smiling faintly.
She sat back on the rock she'd been on before, still fingering the metal on her gloves.
"That and a few of the guys here decided that the girls' bathroom was open to viewers." she added, her tone a bit lighter, though the subject wasn't all that much better.

Matt continued his nodding and gave a "Mmhmm" in consent to Larza's words. When she started talking about the incident at the ladies' shower, his eyebrows popped up in suprise. Now why didn't I think of that... he thought.
"Well, can't say I blame 'em." he mumbled, then thought again. "I mean...! No! That's...! A'right, try again! That came out wrong...." he said apologetically before sighing and letting his head roll back against the tree.

Larza laughed.
"It's ok. I'm not AS mad about it right now. They're going to pay anyway." she said, her smile tinged with 'evil'.
"So, which team are you on? I know right now we're all ONE team, but..." she said, shrugging. "I'm on the Acolytes."

Matt laughed with her when she spoke of how they would pay, for he knew well the pain of a women's wrath. He absent-mindedly rubbed his jaw and felt the small, rough scar that had been left near his ear where sharp bone had met thin skin in a clash that ended.....messily.....to say the least.
In answer to her question, he said "None" in a weird yet disturbingly funny voice. In his normal downgraded Southern accent, he said "Gave up the X-men 'round a week ago. Might stick around the mansion few days after the big fight though, if its still standin'."

She nodded.
"We can hope it is." she said, not commenting on the fact he wasn't on a team. She'd been considering leaving the Acolytes if Magneto was changed for good.
The only reason she was still there was the crisis that was going on. Otherwise, she'd have gone back to her former job without batting an eye. But now that her empathy was back, she wasn't sure if she *could* be an assassin again.
"So why'd you leave the X-Men? Too much 'mutant's and humans can be friends' junk?" she asked, smiling. "That's why I joined Magneto. At the time, he was against that."

Matt paused for a moment when she answered him about the mansion. After the pause and after her next question he sat and thought for a moment. Why did I leave again....? "Uh....hell, I dunno." he said with a half laugh and a shrug. "Guess I just wanted some 'ore free time. Thing is its really gonna cut into talkin' time wit my girlfriend." he continued before laughing.

She laughed again.
"I'd've left the day I joined. Just living here is driving me up the wall." she commented, grinning. "The training's ok, so are most of the people, but the principal of it all...it doen's fit me."
She tugged on her gloves before speaking again.
"Being here must've had a effect on me though." she said, "I never had a concience untill I came here. Never cared about anyone's point of view, nothing."
