-This takes place after the Advanced Training thread-
Needing to know that everything was on scedule, Magneto searched the mansion for Ororo. The Sentinals would be attacking any day now, and she was the only one who had shown him any amount of trust. He doubted he could talk to Jean Grey, or Beast as easily-and most certainly not Logan!
She was nowhere to be found, so he figured that she was probably in her quarters. He made his way up there with a serious weight on his shoulders. I cannot allow any of the mutants under this roof to come to harm. Standing outside her door he hesitated. Though I wonder if that is at all possible to prevent.
Reaching out a hand, he rapped on her door softly.

Storm was just changing out of her wet clothes, while trying to come to terms with the conclusion she had made, when she heard a soft knocking on her door.
Maybe it is Logan! We really need to talk…
Grabbing her long bathrobe from the back of the door, she secured it tightly around herself, pulling her still wet hair out over one shoulder, before opening the door. A look of surprise clearly showed on her face as to saw who was actually standing at her door.
“Erik!” she exclaimed, before noticing the worried look on his face. “Has something happened?”
Magneto stood in the doorway and waited, hearing some moving around on the other side of the door. Finally the door opened and Storm was standing on the other side, peering around the side of the door questioningly. By the surprised look that fell over her features, Magneto suspected he was the last person she expected to see.
“Forgive the intrusion. I hope you are not…busy?” He noticed her hair was wet and it looked like she had on a bathrobe. “I have pressing matters to discuss with you.” He decided to try and exit gracefully. “Perhaps another time?”
Pressing matters? Storm thought, a chill running down her spine.
“No, please, do come in,” she said, opening the door wide. Crossing the room, she picked her wet clothes up off a chair, and hung them on her Chinese Laundry rack, before turning back to Magneto, who seemed the slightest bit uncomfortable.
“What are these ‘pressing matters’ that you wish to discuss?” Ororo asked, her face a mixture of worry and curiosity.

Walking in, Magneto shut the door behind him with a small surge of his powers. He looked at the way Ororo was dressed and then focused his attention solely on her face, only the slightest perturbed. Sighing he said, “I’m afraid things are not boding well for mutants across the country. The humans are attacking in mobs and the news have reported several flat-out lynchings even in this city.”
He walked across the room and stared at the blank television screen for a moment, his back to her. “I have talked to Beast about this somewhat…but not in detail.” Turning back to her, compassion filled his voice. “Ororo, the time has come. We need to deal the first blow to the Sentinals.”
Storm listened intently to Magneto, the dread in her heart growing with each word.
I wish Charles were here… she thought, before his last sentence caused her eyes to snap up to meet his.
“But we have had so little time to prepare! Do you feel we are ready?” she asked, the dread giving away to raw fear. She was not ready for this. She was not ready to risk the lives of her students. But if the Sentinals did attack first, would the outcome be any different?
It may, but they could attack at any time, and if we are caught off guard…
But she couldn’t even bring herself to finish the thought.

His own fears had been voiced, and he shook his head at her sadly. “To attack as a whole, no-we are far from ready. But there are some individuals here who I believe may be ready for such an attack.” He sat on the edge of her bed, and looked at the floor for a minute.
“I suggest we get all of the leaders together for a meeting before we decide. What I am suggesting is a small detachment sent in to do some extensive damage in a surprise attack and then slip away unnoticed.”
Logan had been tossing around the events from the Danger Room and just couldn’t leave things the way they were. Me and ‘Ro got too good a friendship to let sumthin like this mar it up! With that decided he peeled himself off his bed and wiped most of the blackness from the exploding cigar off his face. I’ll deal with Guido later!
He opened his door and headed down the hallways to have a word with Storm. …look ‘Ro, I might’ve got a little carried away…but I tink I might dig you…No. Maybe I should hold offa that stuff a little-see how she reacts ta even seein me…
Pausing outside her door he attempted to press his hair down a little, but it sprang right back up into the usual wild look. Shrugging he reached a hand out to knock. Here goes nuttin.

Nodding her head in agreement, Storm attempted to push down the fear what was welling up inside her.
“Yes, I believe a meeting is necessary before any final decisions are reached,” she said, before another knock on her door sounded. Giving Magneto an apologetic look that their talk was interrupted, she walked over to the door and opened it, finding Logan on the other side. A look of surprise crossed her face again, mirroring that of when she had found Erik at the door.
“Logan, I…” she began, but couldn’t find the words now that he was standing right in front of her. It was then that she noticed his eyes were no longer on her, but on the room behind her. Specifically on the man that now sat on her bed.

‘Ro opened the door in her low-cut, high riding bathrobe, and to honor her, Logan averted his eyes-right onto Magneto who was sitting on her bed looking at him. He stared hard at Magneto as his heart sank and he looked back at ‘Ro with undisguised hurt and anger.
“Thought I had sumthin ta tell ya.” He said in a soft gravelly voice, “Turns out I was wrong.” He gave another menacing look at Magneto who had stood to his feet in obvious discomfort and then back at ‘Ro. “Sorry to disturb you.” He said through his clenched teeth and headed back to his room-ignoring any call out to him that might come.

The look of raw pain and anger on Logan’s face was like a dagger to Ororo’s heart. She could do nothing but stand there and stare at him, as he spoke, and then turned to leave. Finally she found her voice.
“Logan, wait!” she called, but he didn’t stop. He made no indication that he had even heard her. “Please…”
The last word was barely audible as she watched him disappear down the stairs. She felt a stinging in her eyes, but quickly blinked it away, before taking a deep breath, and straightening her back. Walking back into her room, she showed no emotion as she looked at Magneto.
“We should have this meeting as soon as possible,” she said, crossing her room to her dresser. “If you would please contact Henry about this, I will make myself decent, and join you shortly.”
Not completely oblivious to what was going on, it seemed that his presence in Storm's room was upsetting to Logan. But seeing how Storm came back into the room wearing an expressionless mask, Magneto decided to pretend as if the whole thing did not happen at all.
He nodded at her request to tell Dr. McCoy, and started to exit the room. "I will tell Beast immediately. Let's meet somewhere where we can be assured of a little privacy." He paused at the door with his back to her while by the sounds of it she was pulling on a pair of jeans. "Any idea where that might be?"

OOC: asked premission
Christine was wandering the halls, wanting to talk to Ororo about one of the things she remembered and see if Ororo could help her figure out what the memory meant.
She spotted Magneto outside her door and had to bite back her temper. A lazy thought rose to the surface as she shuddered. Isn't she a little, oh, I don't know, young for you?

Magneto shut the door behind him and turned to head down the hallway to get Beast. Just as he turned around he almost ran directly into Christine MacTaggert, who was standing there smugly looking at him with her arms crossed.
"Pardon me." He said, and made as if to move around her.
(OOC: Maybe we should create a new thread-since this isn't happening in Ororo's room...You can do that on your next post.)

As Magneto closed the door behind him, Storm allowed her façade to shatter as she sunk to the floor. All she could see was the wounded look in Logan’s eyes, before he had walked away.
In such a short time, everything has changed. What must I do to get it back to how it was? Or maybe to something better? But now is not the time to think of this.
Taking a shaky breath, Storm rose to her feet and finished dressing. Sitting at her vanity, she brushed back her long tresses, before setting the brush down, and simply staring at her own reflection. She stayed like this for several minutes, until all signs of confusion and pain had melted from her face. Until she was staring at the strong, independent woman that everyone expected her to be.
Silently, she stood from her seat, and left the room, closing the door behind her.
