Given Name: Tabitha Smith
Codename: Meltdown
Age: 18
Detailed Description of Powers: Tabitha can create "time bombs" which are balls of plasma that can and will explode upon her command. She can create bombs ranging from the size of marbles to the size of beach balls. Obviously the explosion from a beach ball sized bomb would be more destructive than that of a marble sized one. She has learned to re-absorbed unexploded bombs back into her body and also generate explosive streams of plasma.
She was also a petty thief at one time in her life so she has pick-pocket skills.
Originally from: Roanoke, Virginia
Known Family: Lou Smith (Father) Amanda "Mandy" Smith (Step-Mother)
Physical Description: Tabitha is around average height for a girl her age, 5'5" and weighs 125 pounds. She has an atheletic body. Her blonde hair is chin length and flips out at the bottom. She has blue eyes but is known to sometimes wear sunglasses or goggles.
Personality: Tabitha has a bubbly and fun loving personality. She's always up for a party or a good time. She used to like playing practical jokes but has grown out of that phase, though once in a while she'll still play a gag or two. Tabitha is, however, prone to bouts of jealousy. She also has a great deal of disdain for those who flaunt their wealth or status.
Bio: Tabitha Smith grew up in a trailer park with her parents. After her mother's death, Mr. Smith remarried, and seemed to lose interest in having Tabitha around. That was when she started rebelling. She started dressing sexier and stealing small things from stores. Finally, her mutant abilities manifested. Her father saw her as a freak and began to beat her. Tabitha hid one of her time bombs in his lasagne one night and that was the straw that broke the camel's back. After a savage beating, Tabitha ran away from home.
For a time, she lived on the streets in New York city where she got involved with drugs and prostitution. Tabitha tried to hide her powers but they were revealed once again, this time with dire results. A man nicknamed Tiger had serious cut Tabitha's friend Gina and was going to attack her after they had rejected him for services. To protect herself, Tabitha released a time bomb in the man's face, killing him instantly.
With seemingly no place to go, she joined a gang of thieves called the Fallen Angels led by the Vanisher. Here she learned how to be a proper thief. She soon grew tired of having to do as the Vanisher said and pay him much of the goods that she stole and contacted the mutant hunters X-Factor. It turned out that X-Facter were mutants themselves and offered Tabitha a place to stay with them. During this time she took the name Boomer.
When the demon hordes of Limbo invaded New York two of the young wards of X-Factor, Artie and Leech, were kidnapped by the demons. Tabitha and the other X-Factor trainees set out to find their friends. Eventually, the X-Factor trainees, now calling themselves the X-Terminators, met with another group of young mutants called the New Mutants. After the threat of the demon inferno was averted, the X-Terminators and the New Mutants merged into one group of New Mutants. It was here that Tabitha's relationship with Sam Guthrie started began to take root.
It was not until the man named Cable had began training the New Mutants that Tabitha and Sam began to grow closer. They had gone on many missions and the team began to fall apart. By the end, they were the only members of the New Mutants left. They made a vow to each other to follow Cable on his mission but to allow stay true to the dream of Charles Xavier. Once they began to open up about their feelings, it was then that Sam and Tabitha became an official item.
Tabitha and Sam were happy together until it came to light that Sam might be a High Lord. This would mean that he would be immortal. He would not age while Tabitha grew older and eventually died. This definately put a kink in their relationship. Tabitha kept her worries hidden. Eventually, Sam invited her to visit his family's farm in Kentucky. This was a major step forward for the couple and it showed Tabitha that Sam was serious about her. After the ordeal of being kidnapped by the Upstarts Tabitha revealed her worries about Sam outliving her but she decided that it didn't matter as long as they loved each other.
They soon moved back to the Xavier Mansion where Sam gradutated to the X-Men team. Their relationship soon ended and Tabitha took to nursing a convalescent Sabertooth back to health. She confided secrets to him. In the end, he had been faking his weakness for the most of the time. He taunted Tabitha into attacking him by throwing her secrets in her face. She acted rashly and accidentally freed Creed.
It was at this point that Tabitha matured greatly. She had been betrayed or let down by most of the people she had trusted all her life. She felt like there was no one she could count on but herself. Tabitha was no longer Boomer. She had become Meltdown. It took her a long time before she grew back into the fun loving girl she used to be.

Why did you choose our site?:
This site was suggested over at the TWN. I had a look around and it looks like you've got a good thing going. There seems to be a direction and good sense of order.
What about this character do you like?: I like Tabitha's "what you see is what you get" attitude. I loved her in NEXTwave. She's not an A or even a B lister. I think she could use a good fleshing out.
Have you ever RPed before? Where?: (If you wish, you can include a link to other RPGs here) I have rped before. I played as Rogue and Angel in an X4 movie-verse rp. I don't know if that site is still up or not.

Meltdown
Tabitha entered the hotel room and threw her beach bag on the bed. She unwrapped her sarong and tossed it across the back of the chair next to the window leaving her standing in her bikini in front of the mirror. Tabitha shoved her sunglasses up on her forehead to examine herself in the mirror. Unconsciously, she ran her hands through her hair to make sure it was still "flippy-outtie" enough. Tabitha saw that her skin was a marvelous shade of tan after the long day of basking. She turned slightly to observe that she was evenly roasted. Cancun was definately the medicine the doctor ordered. Now, she was going to get ready for a night out on the town.
Tabitha just needed some time to get things out of her system. She had been fighting with Cable and X-Force for what seemed an age. The training wasn't all bad, it did give her a beach ready body that most of the stars would kill for. She had been sipping pina colada's on the beach when surfer boys passed by her. That was a plus. She hadn't thought about Sam for almost the whole trip. She was definately doing her best to wash that man right out of her hair.
Feeling the need for background noise she picked up the television remote. She flipped through some channels and landed on the first English-speaking one she found, a comedy station. From the bathroom she could hear the theme to Scrubs. "I love this show," Tabitha said and immediately felt stupid for talking to herself.
She could hear the characters' conversation from the bathroom as she got ready. Turk was the cute one while JD was the goofy one. JD reminded her of Sam. They both had a unique charm about them. If he was Sam then she would probably be Eliot. No. Way. Tabitha was no where near as neurotic, was she? She wasn't that codependent either, was she?
Against her will, it seemed, she looked to her cell phone lying on the night stand. It wouldn't hurt to to check up on things. They hadn't talked for a long time. It had been a long time since that thing between her and Roberto too. Time heals all wounds after all.
Tabitha shook such thoughts away from her mind and turned back to the mirror to do her make up. It wouldn't hurt just to say hi.
She marched over to her phone and slid it open. Would his number still even work? Tabitha entered his number and pressed her lips hard together. She gasped when it rang and then ended the call abruptly. "What am I thinking?" she said out loud feeling even more stupid.
