"Hope I'm not interrupting anything," Lilandra said as she walked in. She had changed out of her silver plated armor into a more relaxed blue gown of sorts.

Henry's eyes went wide. If it had been possible, his face would have gone white.
"Erik....", he said - mortified.
"I had misgivings before. Now I know that splitting the team is a really awful idea."

"Perhaps I should introduce myself. Lilandra Neramani," she said politely. "The baby sister of the Mad Emperor D'Ken. And currently I'm not a particularly well liked member here since my duty is to find Phoenix and bring her back to fight D'Ken."

“Not at all Lilandra.” Magneto said rising from his chair. “Come in.” He noticed Henry’s horrified look and sat back down. “I take it you know something about Lilandra and why she is here. Good. I was hoping to not have to have too much time taken in explanations.” He looked at Lilandra and then back at Henry.
Magneto wisely decided to keep his comments few and carefully thought out here. He did not have an alliance with this Lilandra, though was at least partially convinced that her motives were noble deep down.
“If ever there was a time where I needed your counsel Henry, this is it.”
"Phoenix must be allowed to do her duty," Lilandra said. "We can not afford to have her be prevented. If she is and D'Ken finds the crystal... The crystal has another name." She paused and closed her eyes. "The End of All That Is."

Henry shook his head as if to shake away cobwebs from his thoughts. His mind raced as he fought to sort through all the images the Phoenix had shown him. As he tried to fathom all the problems they were headed for from every side.
He moved to a chair as if he felt like the world might spin suddenly and throw him from his feet. His brow furrowed. He decided not to waste time with greetings since it was fairly apparent Lilandra knew at least partially what to expect. And he knew what to expect from her as well.
"I am already aware of the basics thanks to a rather...explosive...revelation by the Phoenix. What is not clear to me is what is required of her. Or of Christine, her host. Or, for that matter, of us."

"You all are links to her, ones that keep the Phoenix from lashing out. There is no doubt in my mind that if that child was to lose control of Phoenix for just a mere second," she paused and shook her head.
She cleared her throat. "She'll have to battle D'Ken to keep him from accessing the power of the crystal. But to do that... she needs a host to channel the power. Phoenix came to Christine because Christine was destined to wield that power."

“And what danger does this put Christine in again.” Magneto said, asking the question that was surely on Henry’s mind. “Spell out the worst case scenario for us from Christine’s point of view.”
Without pausing he added, “And the specific dangers for the rest of the mutants under this roof if this battle were to come to our doorstep.”

"She'll end up sacraficing herself to dispose of the Crystal so no-one may use it," Lilandra said, closing her eyes. "She'll fly into your sun and hide the Crystal there - might even join the Crystal in hiding to make sure no-one can get it or to use her."
She paused. "That... I truly don't know."

“One who willingly gives his life for a cause they deem just and worthy is a martyr, but one who throws their life away on something that they don’t even understand is a fool. Does that not make sense to you, Lilandra?” Erik spoke to her in quiet tones. “Christine cannot be a hero if she goes into this not only unwillingly but completely ignorant.”
He was somewhat torn. He truly did not want harm to come to Christine, but if what Lilandra said was true and all of life depended on this the decision was not so cut and dry. “Henry, you have been silent. Supposing this was a decision you had to make right now-what would be your words?”
Just then he heard a mental scream ring through his head. He clutched the sides of his head and squeezed his eyes shut in agony until it subsided. After a time he opened them and realized that Lilandra had heard it as well. "I believe Christine has returned."

"So I've heard," Lilandra said, holding her head. "Healthy set of psychic lungs on that one."

Henry sat thoughtfully before he spoke. "I am uncomfortable with the notion of destiny as well as several other topics in this discussion", he said.
"I'd like to understand your role in this, Lilandra.... particularly as we look forward to the events you're referring to."

"I've been battling my brother for ages, ever since his quest for power began. But it's out of my hands now. I will lend as much aid as I can."

Henry leaned forward squinting his eyes and rubbed the bridge of his nose with his fingers. Everything happening was overwhelming, but the notion of being involved in some kind of galactic conflict just made his head hurt.
"I am not sure how to ask this question", he said after a moment, "but with the risks and the nature of all that we're talking about the outcome doesn't matter as much as what comes before it. I mean, it sounds like if someone doesn't stop D'ken then it won't matter anyway. Given that, I'm most uncomfortable with the notion of Christine facing something of this magnitude alone."
"If she is to be saved from this...if she is to come home safely, then someone must be there for her", he said with great emotion. "And if she somehow doesn't come back because of what must be done", he said with even more, "then someone must still be there for her. Someone should know."
Looking at Magneto he said, "I do not know how we could do this....it's just so much bigger than I know how to handle. She needs to have family there no matter what it costs here. I do not wish to do this alone, but if there are no alternatives and it is possible then I will." He sighed and swallowed hard. He then looked at Lilandra with sadness and resolve in his eyes. "Do you have a ship of some sort? Can it do what I'm asking - take us where she needs to go and bring us back here when it's over? Do you know of a way this can be done?"

"Yes," she said, closing her eyes. "I have a ship. I can take you to where the Crystal lies - Phoenix knows where it's hidden. I will provide transport there and back."
She paused a moment and tear streaked down her face.
"Christine was destined to be Phoenix, it is hers by right. If she hadn't wanted it - she wouldn't have called. If it wasn't meant for her - it wouldn't have answered," Lilandra said quietly.
