Lilandra arched an eyebrow. 'That child has told me nothing I don't already know.' Out loud she answered, "I shall keep that in mind. I would prefer to have Phoenix help me but given our rather rocky first meeting since she has taken a host - it shall be interesting to see if she does help me. That is, if her "family"", she made the quote marks in the air when she said family, "is willing to let her do her job."
She suddenly had a gut feeling she offended quite a few people with that comment - but what was said was said and she refused to take it back.

Storm had stood silently in the room, watching the exchange between the alien Lilandra, and the others. But with each word spoken, her uneasiness grew, as did her anger.
“And I would like you to keep in mind that you are a guest in this house,” she said, her voice cold and calm. “I am going to be completely honest here in saying that I do not like your presence in this house, nor what it may mean for Christine. But this is her decision to make.”
Crossing her arms over her chest, Storm leveled her gaze at Lilandra.
“Her family will be here to aide her in this decision, and we will back her up whichever way she decides. I only hope that you will honor her choice as well.”
"She. Has. No. Choice," Lilandra bit out. "She is Phoenix and it is her job to protect. End of discussion." Lilandra paused for a moment. "Christine has the unique gift of being the only one capable of wielding the force. It came to her - because it was hers by right. If she hadn't wanted it, she wouldn't have called it. If it wasn't meant for her - it wouldn't have answered." 1) www.geocities.com/jeangreypics04/ClassicXMen43B4.jpgcopy paste or go here www.geocities.com/jeangreypics04/Phoenixyears9.html - first one, third row

“There is always a choice! It may be Phoenix’s job, but it is not Christine’s!” Storm responded, her voice rising. Catching herself, she took a deep breath, attempting to calm her emotional torrent.
“I do not feel this should be discussed without Christine present. She has already expressed disinterest in helping you. So my advice to you would be to start planning for the alternative. There is always a choice. And if it happens she chooses against helping you, I hope you have respect enough to accept that.”
"I refuse to have a child endanger billions of lives because she's not going to help! It is her duty and destiny as Phoenix!" Lilandra snapped. "She was meant to be Phoenix - therefore she is meant to do Phoenix's job!"

With those words, Storm lost it. Her eyes clouding over white, she raised an arm and thrust it in Lilandra’s direction, sending a strong gust of wind at the alien. It picked her up, and flung her hard into the kitchen wall.
“So all this talk about having an alternate plan was just to attempt to gain our trust? To make us feel that you were actually offering a choice, not giving an order? I do not appreciate being toyed with!” she said, her voice loud and threatening. The wind continued to swirl around her, whipping her hair in all directions, as she looked down at Lilandra with narrowed, white eyes.

"Do not toy with *me*, witch," Lilandra snapped, her eyes narrowing. "I have no plans but ones with Phoenix playing a role in them. If you think your children can handle D'Ken, let them. But know this, Phoenix is the only one with the skill or power to beat him."

On his way down to the Danger Room for some Advanced Training, Logan stepped into the kitchen for a cup of coffee to take down there with him. He had been pretty stressed out and a Danger Room session alone was exactly what he needed.
When he opened the door he was met with a blast of wind to his face and the sight of Storm holding her hand out and using her powers to pin a newcomer up against the wall.
Now there's sumthin ya don't see everyday.
Fighting the strong winds swirling around the room Logan made his way over to 'Ro and just stood next to her for a minute studying the newcomer.
"Welcome to the mansion!" He yelled over the roar of the wind.
OOC: I had to clarify here that this was prior to the Council of Erik thread; and prior even to the Danger Room session that Logan and Storm were in...

"Enchanted," Lilandra gritted out. 'Great, the last male I wanted to see makes his appearance. I have a feeling he'll tear my heart out if that witch tells him what I said.'

Logan looked over at 'Ro who looked pretty hacked off. "I take it you ain't just showin her what you can do." He said to her. Man this chick must have really cheesed off 'Ro. I hope I don't get on her bad side any time soon.
OOC: don'cha love foreshadowing?

OOC: Immensely Lilandra somehow managed to break free, and her hand pulled out her gun. "Enough, witch. I'm not afraid to use this. I've been through quite enough in my time. Split more blood then anyone - I won't hesistate to spill yours. Phoenix is needed, whether you and her family like it or not."

That was when Logan realized that there was something serious going on here, and it involved Chris. He went over to her and stood between Ororo and the woman. "Lissen here lady-I don't know who you are and I don't care, but nobody talks about spillin 'Ro's blood in front of me. And ain't nobody takin Chris nowhere!"
He looked down at her gun. "So take your space ranger pistol and get outta here before you get hurt!" His voice was a low growl and his eyes were narrowed down angrily.

"For the love of the gods," she cried, glancing heavenward. "My name is Lilandra Neramani. I am, was, the Grand Admiral of the Shi'ar Empire's fleet. I came here in search of Phoenix, who has a job to do whether she likes the idea or not."

(OOC: Gotta backtrack myself a bit. Hehe...)
Storm's sudden useage of her powers caught Larza off guard, and she backed away, towards the far side of the room, out of the wind.
'Obviously she's not happy.' she thought wryly.
She brushed back her now-windblown hair and sighed. All this chaos was getting to her, wearing her already thin patence down to nearly nothing.
Logan entered then, greeting Lilandra, then getting the basic gist of what was going on and glaring at Lill.
Larza then went back over to the group, still wary of the angered Storm, and gave their alien 'guest' a hard look.
"Chris and I aren't *exactly* the best of friends, but even I can't say you're right." she said quietly, remembering their little tiff in the Danger Room recently.
"If she doesn't feel the inclination to help, that is up to her. And she'd be the one guilty if it comes down to the destruction you say would come from it." she added, trying to calm everyone, though she figured what she'd just said wasn't calming in the least.
'Somone'll take that the wrong way...' she thought with an inward wince.
"And even so, there's no reason to bicker. We have enough probblems right now." she added, a strand of hair falling into her face, which she brushed back, while looking at the floor, slightly embarassed for her outwardness.
'What am I *doing*trying to be the voice of reason?' she wondered wryly, her hands automatically toying with her gloves. 'That's their job, not mine.'
She looked back up, her silver eyes flicking around the room at the others. 'Not that they're doing it...'

"You and Phoenix can take the next space train outta here for all I care. Juss leave Chris outta this!" He was poised and ready for her to even try reaching for that gun of hers. One wrong move and he would spring into action so quickly that she wouldn't know what hit her.
"Maybe ya better juss git on that communicator of yers and tellem you got the wrong planet. They can beam ya up or whatever!"
